What's your phobia?

Are you sure it was Yogi and not Booboo? :D

I've had quite a few close calls with grizzlies and black bears. I've been lucky in that none have had cubs in tow.

Bear sightings are quite frequent here in the mountains and the foothills. I go to the mountains and hike a lot. The only animal I haven't seen is a cougar, although about a month ago a friend of mine saw a cougar taking down a very large ram and sent me some pics. The thing about cougars is you probably wouldn't see them before they attacked you. They are a highly effective predator.

For the most part, bears only attack to protect their young or their territory.

gephyrophobia- Fear of crossing bridges...my wife thinks I am nuts, but when I drive over a bridge or an overpass, I literally hold my breath until I am over it. There is a bridge here in Birmingham that looks like it is just ready to crumble and I wouldn't drive over it, my wife drove my truck over and I walked...glad I found another route.

Oh man I am the same way. There is a big ass bridge that connects Corpus the the Padre Island right. Well all my family went to Padre and my butt stayed at my uncles house there was no way I was going over that thing. I also hold my breath but my fists clench and sometimes I get sweaty.

Yeah, I get that way too with the sweaty palms and gripping the steering wheel so hard that is leave indents when I let go, and if I am wearing a cap, I have to take it off because I am afraid it will blow off- EVEN WITH THE WINDOWS UP...crazy huh.

sunk ships.
I kid you not, they scare me so much titanic was a horror movie to me.

also sport balls after they've been attacking me

guess I am a weird girl after all

BikiniPhobia

BikiniPhobia - ok, ok, I'm being silly, I came up with that one. But at this forum it's quite appropriate and at least here i'm not afraid to admit it. I'm terrified to show up on the beach at my current weight. Pants don't zip anymore. A though of wearing a Bikini - Aaaahhhhh!

So, I guess you didn't take many toys with you into the bathtub as a little kid then, huh? :willy_nilly:

I'm with Staisha..... I'd practically rather die than walk about in a bikini in front of people I know... shoot, in front of people I don't know... heck, in front of the mirror... :puke:

mice/rats...yikes!!!

heights...but y'know what 'they' say...its not that you're scared of heights or standing on train platforms when fast trains go by...you're really worried about what you might actually do...ie jump off that building/in front of the next train... a little dark i know........:newangel:

deep water........the thought of whats lurking just underneath you...i would rather have gone down with the titanic (in the bar) than flail about in the water...i would have been hysterical...& would have just freaked everyone out even more. i'm getting goosebumps now just thinking about it!!!

Pyrophobia- Fear of Fire
Although I can't really say I'm afraid of fire because I am a pyromaniac. I love lighting stuff on fire if there's a lighter around and I'm outside. But I frequently dream of my house catching on fire. I have more of a fear of not being able to get out.

Ophidiophobia- Fear of Snakes
Deathly afraid. I don't even have to see it to know it's in the vicinity. Boyfriend and I were in the garage last summer having a beer...it was starting to get dark and we were just hanging out, too lazy to turn the light on. Once it was pitch black (and I'm blind as hell in the light, let alone the dark) I freak out saying there's a snake near. So I run to the light and flip it on and sure enough there's a snake slithering up my driveway. Ughh, disgusting.

Achluophobia - Fear of Darkness
Not really the darkness, but what lurks IN the darkness.
