What were your first noticeable results?

I'm sure everyone remembers that moment where they first looked in the mirror and said “yeah! its been completely worth it” or “wow I'm starting to look better.” or that time you realized you've doubled your bench since you started training. Maybe it was a friend that said you were looking better or loosing or gaining weight?

For me, I've only been lifting again for around 2 months after falling away for around a year. Today I just doubled my push ups, and though I'm sure no one else can see the difference, I can, and thats what matters :) there's nothing like the feeling of hitting a milestone, no matter how small it might be!
 
the first thing i noticed were my shoulders. but your right, you notice a differece in yourself long before anyone else does.
its nice seeing someone you havent seen in awhile and they have a good compliment, it keeps the motivation going.
 
i had trained for about 3 years and then quit for almost a year. i started up again and went at my own pace, making my own routines and diet.

after a few weeks, i noticed my traps and my thighs had gained some size. the very next day, someone at work said the magic words, "hey doug, looks like you've been lifting."

made me want to go workout right then and there ;)
 
I took a picture when I first started, then another picture 35 days later. The big difference was my shoulders.
It was hard for me to see the results until I saw a picture of how I started. It was one of the coolest things though, to actually see the results of all the hard work. You cant buy a good build.
 
my first change i noticed was in my arms...i knew i was doing something right when i came back from college for spring break and saw all of my high school friends, and some of them commented on how i had gotten much bigger...then, just recently, (this is probably the only time in my life where this will be satisfying), i noticed that my old shirts dont fit anymore.
 
It is when I started doing pull-ups (worked my *ss off to get there) that I noticed a real difference in my back...there's nothing better :)
 
I havn't gotten that shocker of a moment yet, and I've been working out for a while. I guess my style of training has just been more gradual.


I do know that I was at the bench press with my friends one time and I absolutely showed them up. They were just like 'wow'. That kept me going.
 
I recently saw my ex g/f (she left me for someone who I thought was my friend). She saw me at the gym after not seeing me for 3 months and the first thing she said was "Damn, you look Hot!" I've been lifting alot heavier since that day,lol.

thats ok, cause now she wants your body, and you can probbably beat the day lights out of your old "friend." while he's huffing and weezing, you'll be doing pilates around him! :p
