What are your biggest No No's?

I forgot regular ranch dressing. Oh my, I could drink the stuff. But since beginning the diet, I have been using the 1 calorie per spray Wish-Bone Red Wine Vinaigrette Salad Spritzer. I have also had Kraft's South Beach Diet ranch, but on most days, I'm not willing to sacrifice even 70 calories per serving to dressing.

so many americans arew addicted to fizzy drinks!! i dont get it. ive never liked them . its becuase of that furry teeth sensation afterwards :(

my main problem was cheese. at ome point i was getting through 10 pounds worth of canadian cheddar A WEEK. its the only thing that stopped me from going vegan. how i am pretty much vegan, and no cheese for the last 6 weeks. i feel great! my other problem which is the next to work on is sauce. i just love sauces. i have about 40 different ones at home - vegan mayo, brown, cilli, ketchup, salad cream, about 10 salad dressings, mustard, thai sweet chilli i can go on. its gonna be hard to say good bye to them but im going to cut one out, a week. i cant just stop them its almost like an addiction! but they are hidden calaries and the ONLY thing i eat that i dont or cannot cook myself. so i dont know how much oil and crap is in them.

as for giving up butter well i used to love that too. sometimes a tub in 2 weeks would be gone. id cook pasta with butter in the water. then add the sauce and more butter. then on the plate, a layer of butter and cheese. cholesterolcore! but i dont eat butter anymore. not for 7 months now. only soy butter which is good for you. and even now i hardly use it.

my main problem was always portion sizes. i eat reasonably heathyly especially compareed to some people who live on fried meat and fast food none of which ive eaten for years. but when i cook a vegan chilli, something that is harmless turns into bloodshed when i eat 2 bowls full of it. so now i have to lower the portins. but i will never weigh or measure my food. im gonna learn by eye and lern to listen to my stomach and get rid of the old "hungry eyes"

There's a lot of things I gave up to... And I dont miss them really, when you dont think about it, you dont miss it... About me... The usual: french fry, pizza, sauces, popcorn, ice cream... =)

I haven't touch soda for 9 weeks since I start. I used to have about 2-5 cans a day

Also I use to have fast food anywheres from 5-10 times a week before the diet, now I've only had it once in the last 2 months (dbl cheeseburger from mcdonalds and small fry).

I never really liked soda, sweets, or fried foods that much (wonder how I got so big, urgh!) but I love juice.

After getting a reality check of how much sugar is in juice I have cut down on it quite a bit and I am presently working on getting used to the diet juice. It is quite nasty right now but I am tolerating it. LOL

Do you have a juicer? You could make your own juice. I'm sure it would taste better!

My no-no's are Ben & Jerry's brownie batter ice cream, fast food (it makes my stomach do bad things LoL), chocolate candy bars (especially reese cups).

I don't really eat candy or pie or things like that. Only if it's chocolate!

Diet soda was a big one for me. I thought because of 0 calories it was fine. After years of migraines and various dizzy spells, I read a book about the evils of artificial sweetners. I gave up diet pop and within a week I wasn't having dizzy spells and i can't remember the last time I had a migraine! Not sure if it will affect my weight, but I have a feeling it was a contributer (based on some things I read).

Other no-nos- potato chips! Especially chips and dip- that's a huge weakness of mine and I have to say no or else I know I'll get back into that bad snack habit. It started up last year when I was single ("oh, i'll have some chips with my girlfriends just this once" which turned into "well, i'm treating myself to a movie night tonight, and chips")

I should cut out fries, pizza and fast food. When my fiance and I go out for lunch I usually get a chicken burger and fries. If I can just switch to salad instead of fries I think that would be a good start! Luckily we don't eat out that often, but still!

I don't eat fast food, pork, or drink any sodas. I also try to avoid processed foods or refined foods.

Fast food, ughhh. Burger king western whopper, cheesey tots or fries. Supersized. And then another double burger to wash it down later. Soda was the easiest thing I gave up, i was never a big soda fan anyway, and as for fast food ive had it once during my 3-4 weeks on my new diet and when I did it was a grilled chicken with no soda or fries. :)

I've never eaten a lot of fast food but now I avoid it at all costs.

One of my favorites that I have shunned almost completely now is bagels and cream sauces on pasta.

prolly fastfoods but problem is sometmies you have to if you're out of town...

so that means no Tacobell.... :(

I hve no mager no no foods. I liked soda a lot and tat was hard to give up, but not realy at the same time. As long as it is not in the house I can live with out it.

It is hard for me toresist thing that are in my house which poses a big problem since my wife like to buy junk food. We have so much around and I have been trying to get her to stop buying it. She was mad when I started to diet with out her, but she kept putting it off and I could not wait for the stars to be aligned just right on the second tuesday of the month. I do not know what she is waiting for.

Sorry to get off the subject, I guess the worst thing for me to give up was the Ice Cream...... mmm.... Ben & Jerry's Heath Bar Crunch. I would sit and eat the whole thing at one sitting. hmmmm......maybe that is where I went wrong?

My sister picked up this nice little booklet from her college on the Nutritional Facts about Fast Food restaraunts*. Pretty interesting stuff.

its a nice thing to have in the car when you have to decide what place to stop at

Pop is the major one for me. I used to drink up to four or five cans a day; now I won't touch the stuff. I've also totally cut out white bread/bagels/pasta/everything, sugary fake 'juice', pretty much all junk food (cookies, donuts, candy, cake, chips, etc.), sugary cereal, etc.

ive posted on this thread before, but now i have been officially diagnosed with gallstones my big food no no`s are anything at all like butter/marg/mayo/creamy dips/cheese(sob,sob)/pastry/pizza/ fast food (except for the occasional subway).that is unless i want to feel sooo ill. i wasnt planning on going back to my old ways of eating, but never to be able occasionally to indulge in a cheese grill or piece of pizza is unthinkable. its no wonder the weight is still coming off quite quick. slim

I find burgers rather 'bleh' but I do like restaurant pasta, Cold Rock's Ice cream mixes, deep fried dim sims and chips, shallow-fried schnitzels and a variety of other naughty foods - especially cookies. I don't eat them all that often but unfortunately a person doesn't need to!

I need to put on heaps of muscle so's I can have a cookie or a ice creamy a day and still be healthy! Unfortunately, I'm not only a woman but a rather weak woman (none of that hereditary muscular build - despite the fact I'm rather tomboyish so one would assume I'd have more testosterone than usual) and so near-total abstinence will probably be the name of the day.

Dang it! I really shouldn't be thinking about taboo foods while I'm starving.

Eating should be fun ! I don't deprive myself of any foods, but just limit the portion size. There is no such thing as 'off limit' foods.

Savour and enjoy every bite and you won't overeat !

Ice cream! I need to learn how to control myself while eating it. I usually can't stop eating it. Today, I was really craving some of the Rocky Road ice cream that we had so I just had a little spoonful and that was enough for me. Maybe all hope isn't lost...
