What are your biggest No No's?

mashed potatoes and gravy, or any form of potato for that matter. I havent had mashed potatoes for more than a month, and thats a long time considering they offer them in the cafeteria pretty much everyday lol. I will eat them occasionally, but not how I used to!

Deep fried mozzerella sticks yum!!
Ice cream
Potato chips and dip
Onion rings and french fries
Fast food tacos. Oh how I love them. They are a real red light food for me I can eat 3 or 4 at a sitting!I love them soooo much!!

OMG, ditto! I also used to do potato chips with melted velveeta cheese, seriously, I would melt a chunk of velveeta and sit down with a bag of chips and not get up until the cheese was all gone... so yummy...

And pizza, mac and cheese, and cake

Once I get to my goal, I plan to allow these types of things every once in a while, but completely clean for now!

cheese burger from mcdonald's made like a big mac, lawd have mercy.....I need to go work out, I think I gained a lb just typing it, lol

I forgot to add the great donuts from the donut shop not far from where I work:( Oh my gosh they are SOOO good.Baked fresh every morning deep fried to golden perfection and glazed or frosted. It is hard to pick a favorite when I go in there so I always end up with at least two if not three donuts in the bag or a whole dozen if I have my kids. The problem with it is I eat them even if I feel full! Pure heaven. WAY better than a Krispy Kreme I have learned to stay away from that place completely. I don't even drive near the store any more:( Much to the dismay of my kids! They don't need them anyways:p

Just the description of those donuts made my mouth water. Sinful I tell ya.:D
I LOVE me some donuts, especially the bavarian cream filled with a powder sugar coating.

Stop!! Your killing me!!!!

"Mmmmmm Dooougnuts!" - Homer Simpson

If you are Canadian, I am sure you can relate to this one....

I had all but forgotten doughnuts!! But I will never forget sitting in a Tim Hortons drive through lineup, cars around the block, at 6:30am, all of us waiting for our gallon of coffee and those lovely little sugary and deeelicious nails in our coffins. It never ceased to amaze me that people would line up 50 cars long for a little of that instant gratification! Made me SERIOUSLY consider buying a Tim Hortons franchise. Most people "say" they went for the coffee and that the doughnuts were just a breakfast alternative.... Hah! I would buy 3-4 doughnuts, or perhaps a box of Timbits (the doughnut holes) and happily scarf them down on my way to work drinking that awesome yummy coffee without a thought for my rapidly expanding girth!

All this talk of dougnuts has brought back some pretty seriously good (and subsequently bad) memories. It was amazing how no matter how shitty a morning I was having, a couple cruellers and a maple cream could make it all come up smiles.... Can we say Heroin ?!?!?!?!

Ah well, in China we have no real doughnuts. And when I do get packages from home, I ask only for a nice can of the Tim Hortons coffee.....(which I am drinking as we speak). Instead now I eat my daily "Qing Cai Bao" or in English Steamed Veggie Bun. Basically cabbage and tofu in a steamed rice floor roll. Sooooooooooo much healthier I am sure!

But I sure do think about that sugary love affair from long ago.... Every time I look in the mirror and wonder "What the hell was I thinking??"

Hahaha.. you may call me weird but I don't like those baos.. The Chinese buns.. even though I'm chinese too.. But then again I don't like any of the sweetened buns. Why?? I have no idea.

But I agree it's much healthier...

Oh, I forgot!

Mushroom and Brie Puffs!

I take frozen puff pastry cut into squares and fill them with some brie and mushrooms that have been sauteed in white wine with garlic and pepper then diced. OMG, they practically melt in your mouth... can't imagine they are at all ok for you though :(

my no-nos would be baked stuff and fudge/coconut ice.

Anything else i like, but its not moreish. I can walk away after 1 or 2 kinda thing.
Home cooked bikkies are very morish, Carrot cake also (and super high cal).
Brie Cheese used to be, but i can now walk away. Im teaching myself to be able to walk.

My son made home made cookies last night - i told him to only make a double batch, and smaller bikkies so that i can have 1 or 2 but there wouldnt be enough for a splurge.

We'll see how we go :D

peanut butter and jelly sandwiches... for some erason i was a bottomless pit with them... they tasted good, easy to make, and tasted good. hungry? eat a pbj... bored.. eat a pbj id eat like three at a time... with a lot of peanut butter and a lot of jelly... we're talking thick layer.

and the totinos pizzas id eat like 2 sometimes.

peanut butter on toast and a BIG glass of really cold milk. Lots of peanut butter too so that it sticks to the top of your mouth!!:D yummy. Dang it now I am getting hungry!:(

Biscuits are cookies ? hehehe this forum is going to be fun learning the different lingo from all over the globe.

Yeah, I know, a biscuit for me is something you eat with eggs for breakfast, usually has jelly on it.

Heck, I'm still trying to figure out what a "stone" is when referring to weight.

You eat biscuits with eggs & jelly? What a unique combination..
Erm cookies look different to me.. like choc chip cookies, with the rugged surface.. biscuits are the ones with smooth surface.. hahahaha..

And what's morish and bikkies?

And is lbs = pounds?
So why do you call it lbs? And how do you pronounce that?? lbss..lebss.. haha sorry I've no idea.. :p

Hmm if lbs = pounds.. I'm 56kg.. that means 112 lbs.. that means.. EXACTLY 8 stones..
Stones.. pebbles.. lol..

What foods will you absolutely NOT eat that you loved before?

I loved cookies, candy, cake, brownies, and chocolate bars along the lines of Scor, Heath, and Reese's Peanut Butter cups.

I may still eat them eventually, but not while I'm dieting. The other things people mentioned I have occasionally, but with backed goods, candy, and bad chocolate bars, I have a problem...I can't have them in moderation.

Also, my grandpa has Type 2 Diabetes--it is his fault from his lifestyle and eating habits. But at 76, he has it all under control--he got his weight down, he eats well and keeps his blood sugar quite stable. I love my grandpa and am proud of him. I don't ever want to make bad choices that will give me a disease, and I know that the high sugar and fat content is pretty detrimentel in large doses.

Cake!!!!

Oh you just ahd to mention cake huh!! I love cake but the only time I will have some now is when my kids have a birthday.I can't say no to cake so I had no choice but to quit eating it!!

Yeah, this morning I was in New Leaf Market (a Natty Foods Store) and I saw this 12-muffin pack I love--small, crumbly-moist, chocolate, with raspberry syrup--just a touch. They are small, but they come in a 12 pack. I can eat 9 of them, no problem. So I don't buy them. But my mouth literally watered when I saw3 them this morning and I had to swallow my drool and keep walking.

mmmmmm, cake *drools*

I am just waiting for my bday, gonna bake one... two teirs of lemon cake, with raspberry filling between and lemon buttercream frosting all over... think I'll serve with lemon and raspberry sorbets... mmmmmm
