Reviving a zombie thread. It's been a few years and weight has bounced back to 270 which is still down from my heaviest but need to get back on track. New year, new training plan, better diet. Here we go... again.

Hi FG & welcome back. What's your training plan? Are you still rollerblading and scootering?

Thanks for checking in Cate.

Rollerblades and Scooter is put away for the cold winter months. I've started a little light lifting program and have taken an intro Crossfit class so far. I found a good crossfit gym that has been around for a few years through a recommendation from a friend that had been going for about a year. I have been leery of crossfit from the horror story early days when most of the gyms seemed to be run by halfwits or people receiving kickbacks from the local chiropractors and physio shops that they supplied a steady stream of clients to but so far I'm happy with the emphasis these guys put on form and injury prevention.

Eating plan is to only eat things with an ingredient list I can pronounce. If it's processed, it's out..

Good thinking! I think whoever is running our local (11 km away) crossfit is a bit of a fanatic as a friend who had been going, but no longer is, didn't think it was a good idea for me. She got very skinny & very obsessive but now seems to have everything back in balance. I'm glad your crossfit is better.

I miss being able to edit my first post. Used to be a great way to track weekly progress. Anyone else find a better way to keep these updates within a diary thread or will I have to keep it all in a separate spreadsheet?

Eating this week:
Has been good with the exception of going off the rails at all you can eat sushi on Wednesday night. Kept it down to two orders but probably ticked a few too many boxes on the second order. Took the hit on the scale the following morning but not going to let one bad night throw me off my game.

Excercise:
I'm continuing to do dumbbell work at home and bodyweight exercises but still have not heard back on scheduling my next crossfit session. I had hoped that getting started in December I would have been able to get in line ahead of the January rush but now it looks like I'm stuck waiting with all the other people kicking off their New Year's resolutions. I have not been walking as much as I should.

All you can eat sushi is dangerous. I'm glad we don't have that option anywhere here. I resist going to any all you can eat places, but sushi would be the only thing that would ever tempt me!

Apparently so are chicken wings. :(

We were entertaining yesterday and the consensus was chicken wings and fries for a meal. I did well on the exercise and eating up until 3pm but everything went downhill after that.

Will likely still be down a couple pounds on the week but so far I'm rating myself as doing well 4 out of 6 days.

Progress not perfection

Week 1 is in the bag and progress is being made. Have my next crossfit session booked and ready to start a new phase of the adventure. Possibly time for a new thread and a new set of long and short term goals.
