Weight Loss Journey for Feeling Gooder

lol, thanks for the story Brawny... I grew up on a meat and potatoes diet so my annual visit to a vegan friendly restaurant is always a bit of a shock.

I'm still working on getting the veggie intake up but it's a bit of a struggle at times. Salads are actually pretty good, especially when they come with huge portions of bacon and/or chicken...

I started a monthly challenge thread in the challenge forum for a Rocktober challenge as one more way to try to keep this weight heading in the right direction.

Ok I got a meat lovers story for ya...

So today I was at the High School during lunch. I went over to the coaches table to congratulate them on the big win in our mudfest of a football game Friday night (we are still undefeated). Anyway those fit young bucks had gone to KFC....It smelled so good. I had to get out of there and settle for my turkey on whole wheat.....Curse their young metabolisms!

Hey, Feelinggooder. Thanks for stopping by my diary. You've done a great job losing weight and you seem to have really gotten yourself back on track! Hoping to take a longer glance through your diary when I have time!

I still resent KFC and it's delicious aroma so hightailing it out of the area was a smart move Brawny. I made too many dinnertime commutes eating way too many pieces of KFC chicken...

Thanks Mystic for the kind words. The weight loss portion of the trip was pretty quick and I've been hanging out near this weight for about five months now. Still have some to lose but I don't think I'll go much below 210 and overall I'd be happy to maintain this weight going forward.

Think the monthly challenge is going to be a help this month. Probably one of those accountability things...

I agree about the challenge. I talked a little noise on there to stir up some players. Now i feel I kinda gotta deliver a few lbs to back up my banter!

Yep, making a semi public declaration by signing up for the challenge has made me think twice before grabbing that unhealthy snack or heading out to grab lunch.

I snuck onto the scale this morning and caught a glimpse of that elusive 225lbs... Now I have to face off against Canadian thanksgiving weekend so will have to behave myself on the eating and make some time to get out back and clear a bunch of brush.

Hey! 2 bucks and a quarter!! And I will be happy when I see 2.75.

I still have a little while to get my head on straight for the holidays. I didnt know you had Canadian ties. Or is is you just like eating holidays?

AHey feelinggooder! Just a note to tell you I thought about you when my husband and I came up n the Korean Iron men club going for their swim in the Sea of Japan for God know how many miles! None of them were big buts...but they were all slim and trim in their wet suits! My husband went to their area and wanted a picture of them and they mentioned that's they had been to Hawaii to do the ironman there...probably is not in the cards for me due to the swim, but I did think of you, Mr. Triathlon!
Thanks for your continued good suggestions and tips on great mp3's to listen to!
Sarah

Thanks Sarah and Brawny,

I'm looking forward to next season of triathlon training and yes I do have quite a few Canadian ties since I am Canadian ;) Think you may have confused me and Tob's home location a few months back. I need to start using more aboots and ehs here and post more updates aboot back bacon and maple syrup.

This year didn't go as well as I had hoped and the knee thing has any serious training put on the back burner while I recover but I have been doing well by changing my focus to things I can actually do and control. Managed to get two days of walking in this week and the meals have been on plan so if I can avoid the worst of the turkey weekend I should hold close to the 225 mark for the weigh in on Monday.

Also looking forward to a bit of time out clearing brush this weekend.

I dont know why but I had it in my head you were in PA. Ok now I picture you running through the frozen tundra.

Hey we have quite a few in on the challenge.

I limped out of the gate for the start but I have resolved to do better this week. I am going for at least 3lbs this week. Thats my story and Im sticking to it!

AYeah, lots of new people signed up for the challenge and everyone seems to be getting results.

Think Tob hails from PA and we joined around the same time year. Managed to maintain at two and a quarter through to Sunday so happy with the effort for the first week.

Spent some time out back clearing brush this weekend and made good progress on getting a walking path back there. So much work to clear thick brush and works up quite a sweat. Quite rewarding to see the difference an hour or two can make though.

Should have logged in last week to check out the challenge... Oh well!

I agree about the satisfaction of clearing brush, I'd guess I increased my lawn size by 20% by getting rid of some aggressive weeds, won't hear me complaining! Going to be stacking the firewood in the next few weeks, too, won't that be fun?

Nice, my walking traili is coming along well. I can easily walk back a couple hundred additional feet now that I've taken some time to clear a decent path. Have a few dead standing trees picked out that I'll probably clear out over the winter once I can get the snowmobile back there.

I hear ya on the stacking, have a bit more split and drying that I need to move out of the weather in the next few weeks.

Lumberjack possee or crew or since we're all aiming to shed a few pounds maybe the Lumberjack Losers Club? Have been finding it much more rewarding to build my workouts into outdoor chores for the past month or so which is lucky since I'm still not back into running condition.

How about the Chainsaw Gang? Though I only have a little bit of chainsaw play left this fall (assuming we don't get any nasty storms like last Halloween). Fat Maulers?

AOk, this is obviously a man thing, so I'm out on that one, but did want to drop by and say hello feelinggooder! I don't have. 1/2 marathon picked out..my travel schedule is tough for the next 3 months, and China does not have a real well developed race culture yet, so I'll keep my eyes open for a good 1/2 marathon, but it's not looking good useless I go to other places I. Asia...and not really wanting to increase my travel right now! Good idea though...just not in a position to implement it right now!
