Weight Loss Journal

Just wanted to make a face comparison now that I have a recent pic. Don't mind my one eye closing... the pic was taking too long to take.

Thats the old pic. It was taken like January 07??.. the new one is in the attachment. It was taken this past weekend. Move the window and put em side by side.

You have to open one in a new window if they both open in just separate tabs.

Let me guess, you don't wear glasses anymore?

Just kidding. Looking good. or should I say, smokin :sifone:

It must feel sooo good to be off that detox. I can tell how good it feels just by reading your words. I can see such a difference in your pictures. You've come so far. And I'm so glad your energy is back:hurray:

Thanks Trops. Actually I do still wear glasses, but they are currently at my friends house and he is in Dubai for the summer....so no glasses for me. As long as I don't crash while I'm driving I'm happy.

Purpleshirt it feels really great to be off of that detox. I am so much happier now. And thanks for the compliment :D

July 10, 2008

Alright, I haven't had the chance to write in my jornal/diary yet because I had to escort the fridge guy all morning. With that being said, last night ended well. I had a salad (though I was craving pasta). I didn't even munch out really. I had maybe one piece of watermelon, one blueberry, raspberry, and blackberry.

I was watching X-weighted yesterday and I decided that I am not advancing in my workouts as fast as I should be. In 3.5 months, I've gone from 4.2 speed on the tread mill for 12 minutes to 5.5mph for 25. I usually only up it by .2 mph when I do increase it, but today I decided that I needed to up it a bit more than .2..... so I upped it to .3 (5.8 mph). I didn't think I'd be able to finish the whole 25 minutes, but after that 15 minute mark I felt really great. I ran 2 miles in 20:48. I don't really have a goal for that, but that's the fastest I've ran it (obviously).

Anyways since I was craving pasta last night, I decided that I will have one of my frozen pasta meals for lunch today. Meals today:

Breakfast: Fibre One Honey Oat Clusters w/ blueberries and skim milk - 288 cals
Snack: Vanilla yogurt - 42 cals
Lunch: PC Blue Menu reduced fat cheese and spinach cannalloni - 210 cal
Crispy delights 90 cal bag - 90 cals
Snack: Papaya - 55 cals
Dinner: Salad - Approx 250 cals

Total: Approx 1100 cals

Tomorrow will probably be my last day of eating at this low of calories, and then I will try to up it just a bit.... maybe by 100 cals.

That's great with the running. Have you done any running on the road? I find that I go so much faster on a road then the treadmill.

I actually haven't gone running on the road yet. I would assume that you would go faster because you wouldn't have any specific setting to set your pace... you just kinda run. I think that's why people can't jog for so long outdoors.

I DO want to go for a jog outside on Saturday maybe!!! :D

FRIDAY!!!!!!! WOOHOOO!!!!!! I can't wait to get out of work and enjoy a relaxing weekend. This week seemed like the longest week of my life!! I'm just glad it's almost over :D

Went to the gym this morning and busted out a good workout. I did my HIIT, though I was very hesitant to even do it. When I do HIIT here's how I do it. Run at a decent pace (whatever pace my usual runs are) for the first 11 minutes, then at 11, 13, 15, 17, 19, 21, and 23 minutes I crank it to 8.0 mph for 30 seconds, then I go down to 5.5 mph. So today I ran the beginning at 5.8 instead of 5.5 mph. I broke the 290 cals burned barrier and the 2.5 miles ran barrier. I want to eventually get into 300+ cals burned everytime I run. So five workouts done this week. I think it's safe to say that I am back on track with everything, and I couldn't be happier.

Today is Friday and it's my "official" weigh-in day. After being on the detox, as most of you know, I was scared that the scale was going to jump and I'd gain all my weight back. Welllllllllll....... it told me that I'm 136.2 lbs!!!!! :party:I am freaking extatic!

I am hoping to be in the 120's by mid August. My mom told me yesterday that my legs are the skinniest she's ever seen them!! I just can't wait to see my dad (I haven't seen him in a few weeks).

Anyways, this weekend is my drinking weekend, and I was planning on drinking tonight... but I joined this clinical study and I have a medical tomorrow morning at 9 and I can't have any alcohol in my urine... so the drinking will be on Saturday only.. Probably for the better.

My mom keeps telling me about this Powerhouse class at her gym that works "abs, buns, and thighs". It is on Sunday at 11 am. If I am feeling alright this Sunday, then I am going to try it.

Meals today:

Breakfast: Fibre One Honey Oat Clusters w/ blueberries ans skim milk - 288 cals
Snack: Vanilla yogurt - 42 cals
Lunch: 6" veggie sub w/ cheese and mustard and an orange - 360 cals
Snack: Watermelon - 88 cals
Dinner: Salad - Approx 250 cals

Total: Approx 1200 cals

Nice Job, Amanda!

When you are doing your HIIT, how do you control the treadmill, manually? I tried that once and almost crashed trying to keep up with the speeds while slowing down. I have to slow down faster then the controls will go, I guess. Didn't want to repeat it, so now I just do it on the elliptical machine.

Yea I control it manually. I'm a manual kinda gal. Even my car is manual woot woot!!!:driving:

With my treadmill at home you have to push the button every time you move the speed a single point, but the one at the gym moves by .5 if I hold my finger on it. It takes about 2 seconds to get me back down to my regular pace. You just gotta find a good treadmill. I know what you mean though. I did HIIT on my treadmill at home and nearly killed myself. I had to sprint until the speed came down so I was vigourously tapping the speed button. I think I only did it once or twice on that mill and then just said screw it!

I am a VERY UNIMPRESSED MR. SUB CUSTOMER RIGHT NOW!!!

That stupid little store made me a veggie sub with bread that was probably sitting there for a month. The person making my sub was new so she had no effing clue what she was even doing or how to put PROPER amounts of veggies on it. She puts two little slices of pickle, so I asked for extra pickle.... then she picks up two more pickle slices and lays them so that theres not an entire layer of pickle covering... I should have asked for double extra super pickle. IT'S NOT LIKE IM GETTING MEAT ON MY SUB. IT'S JUST VEGGIES!! THATS IT!! AT LEAST BE GENEROUS!!! SHIT MAN! I'm just glad that I got a 10% discount for being a member of the Y. I am soo tempted to just chuck this and head over to Subway. Whats another three dollars for a delicious sub made right???

Too bad the subs almost all gone... I'm never going back there again.

I hate when they are stingy with the veggies. Even subway does it sometimes. I just wanna yell at them! I mean it doesnt effect their pay if they put more veggies or less veggies on it, I don't see why ya wouldn't just load it up. Maybe thier managers tell them to cut costs.

This is the kind of thing that can wreck my day. :D Nothing pisses me off more than walking into a Subway or Mr. Sub and seeing a new person behind the counter. Because I know they're going to take a half hour to cut the bread, figure out what meat goes on it (my subs have meat :D), and then their unnatural fear of giving you vegetables. I've literally had subs with 4 pieces of onion, green pepper and hot peppers on them... but it was super super busy so I didn't want to hold everyone else up who were about to have their own problems with her. Ugh. What an ordeal. My other pet peeve is when they cut my sub (or close it as they sometimes do) with the same knife they just used on the last sub that is slathered in mustard, mayo and ranch sauce... now wiped off inside my friggin' sub. I'm getting all worked up just thinking about it. :D

As for your running, if you're running outside try to run either on the grass or on the road if possible... avoid sidewalks if you can. They're much less forgiving apparently. This is a tip from my cousin who competes in Ironman competitions so I'm going to assume he's got a pretty good idea what he's talking about.

Have a great weekend!

Yea you know I was in the shittiest of moods after eating that sub... then I went on a tour of the legislature and now I'm happy again. It was sooo friggin cool!! We got to go inside the room where the bills are debated and voted for and something about a special mase. Any inside the building was gorgeous!!!! I took lots of pics with my shitty camera on my phone so they probably didn't turn out very well.

Trops, thankfully I live in GeorgeTOWN and it's pretty much all long country roads.

Oh man, I'm pretty excited. There is this 4 day (2 weekends) event thing going on in September called Tour de Green Belt and it's a bike ride on four different routes. The minimum route is 30km and the max is 65km. Theres one that sounds really interesting and its 50km. It's only 30 bucks a day and you get lunch and snacks and shit. I'm gonna try to get my mom to do it with me! woohooo!!!

I'm comming to Canada first weekend of August for a family reunion. I think its in Grand Bend, Ontario. Right near London.

London! My town! Grad Bend is awesome... except our weekends have sucked so hard so far this year. Every weekend = rain. Hope you have better luck.

Your going to London? That's awesome. It's a bit of a hike for me, but maybe we can meet up. You, Darwin, and I? Just an idea for now. Maybe we can spend an evening together or just lunch or something.. I dunno but I think that would be pretty awesome!
