You're doing great Adeon! Don't even worry about the scale because with that workout routine you're definately transforming your body composition to more muscle mass. A lean mean fightin machine ;).

My goal is to get into a bikini too..... wait I mean ummmm... I'd like to be in that shape but not really wear one. Although I have before.... long story, involved a bet, was a pink tankini.
 
Hey big mac thanks for the words of encouragement! It's really hard to ignore the number on the scale when you are seeing physical results, but the number doesnt move.. I need to try harder to ignore it though. i know that once my muscle growth equals out, I will start to see the scale go down. hopefully soon!!!! Theres nothing I want more than to be a lean mean fighting machine HAHA!!

And now that you've teased me with what sounds like a hilarious story, you must tell me what this story is!! What was the bet?!?!?!?!?
 
Haha, you don't need all the juicy details amanda. All you need to know is the situation ended up with a 6'6" guy in a flowery print pink tankini on a crowded lake. I feel sorry for the girl that got her swimsuit stretched out in the ordeal but im sure it was well worth the comedic value.
 
HAHAHA that is hilarious!! Yea it's always fun to bug girls and try on their clothes. (though I am a girl I still find it quite humourous when the clothes arent mine)

I haven't ever really been in a humiliating bet like that.. truth dare when I was a child is the closest thing to that.

I noticed that you noticed I added my name to my journal. I'd rather people call me that than my screen name anyways. :D
 
Yeah, I didnt know what an Adeon was. :) And yes, I read your journal before posting on it... that would only make sense right?

Big Mac is a nickname of mine ever since I was 16, due to a combination of my height and Irish last name. Or you can call me Shaun, either way I'm not too picky.

I'll stick to Shaun.. your screen name is all over the place... Shaun is easier to type :)

so after you lose weight they are going to call you skinny mac? haha
 
Heh, I was kinda hopeing for McRipped or McLean. I wouldn't mind if it stayed big mac though, I'm almost always the tallest guy in the room.

I just wanna get to the point where I feel more comfortable with my shirt off at the beach or on the lake. Eventually I'd like to see a six pack... the kind I don't drink. I just want to be healthy.

Yea I want to see a six pack too!!... Actually I'm lying, but I'd like to see a nice flat tummy!! So in the summer I'll be so hot and my tummy so flat you can use it as a frying pan and fry some eggs on it!!

Heh, a flat tummy does suit women better than a six-pack in my opinion.
I'd stay away from the eggs though and maybe just put some tanning oil on there cause you're lookin a little pastey. Hahah :).
 
I tried your suggestion and did some weight work before my cardio today. I felt great when I was done. It really does make a lot of sense, when I was done with my cardio I was totally out of breath and exhausted, I never could have done a good job of weight training after. Thanks again for the advice!
 
I'm glad you figured out how to increase your calories. It's pretty hard when you're eating healthy. I can't believe how much I'm eating and still losing weight. I love protein shakes, and I usually use it as a snack on my low cal. days. It's a very convenient way to up the protein/cals w/o upping carbs too much. Usually just one scoop will keep me full for 3ish hrs.

You seem to be doing well, slowly but surely! I've been at the weight you are at and I know you can lose the extra lbs! Good luck with your weight loss, feel free to pop by my diary anytime.

purpleshirt - you know I really want to start putting protein shakes into my diet... I'm a vegetarian and I feel like I don't get enough protein, which I hear is important for weight loss. I just dont know if it's a good idea because I don't want to be having tooooo many calories in my day.

misty22 - Hey glad I could make you laugh :) you know laughing burns calories too I'm told haha. Yea I will definately be visiting your page more now since I'm subscribed to it :D


As of right now, I am finishing my gigantic salad. I'm eating it out of a popcorn bowl its that big.. Now I have a question... is it bad that I'm eating a salad this huge with low cal dressing???? I'm almost done it and I feel that I can eat as big a salad as I want because it's so low in cals... comments???:lurk5:

Just read through your diary. Yup, this site is addictive, but there are worse things to be addicted to.

I was glad to see that you changed up your weight training to be first. Ideally you would not do a weight training session and a cardio session together. really, though, who has the time for two sessions a day, even if they are shorter.

I don't know if you are still doing the same weight training that you were at the beginning, but if you are really doing sets of 30 squats, that's a lot. You will probably get more out of it if you increase the weight and do fewer sets. Be very careful about form. There's a lot in the stickies about form.

Protein is very important. You want to lose weight, but what you really want is to lose fat. Doing the weight training will help you retain the muscle so the fat will go first. Protein will help make that weight training more effective and therefor retain more muscle.

Hey Trops thanks for stopping by!!! 30 squats is really a lot????? I had no idea. I only have one set of 5 lb weights and I use those.. so I don't really have the chance to increase the weight. I plan to buy a new set of weights once I move... which is on Saturday.

ITS FRIDAY EVERYONE!!! WOOOHOOOOO!!!!:party:

So I had a pretty good day yesterday. I forgot to eat my carrots for snack cus I had to go to this talk but I had about 4 with no dressing just to keep my metabolism up. And I made up the calories with the biggest salad of my life!!! And I didn't have any almonds in it which also lowers the calories.

So I did it again..... I increased my workout. I think that I am going to have to stop increasing my workout soon because I am sore today and i already do an hour... just a thought. So yesterday's workout went like this:

3 x 10 Reps of various free weight lifts (7 different lifts in total [I added one yesterday])
3 x 10 Squats with 5 lb weight on my shoulders (hold the 10th squat for 10 seconds)
3 x 10 lunges each leg with 5 lb weight on my shoulder (hold 10th lunge for 5 seconds)
3 x 10 pushups
255 various ab crunches
5 mins of ab cardio (lots of twisting in the mid-section with isolating everything else. GREAT FOR SLIMMING WAIST)
25 minutes jogging at 5.2 mph
5 minutes walking 3.2 mph at incline of 4

Everything in bold I added yesterday.

I also changed the way I did one of my lifts and I think that I fixed the form because it's supposed to work your back and today my back is pretty sore.

I wanted to measure my stomach this morning just for fun but my mom packed away my measurer... its probably a good idea I didnt find it though cus I just measured on Saturday.

It seems i am having a super easy time staying on track this time around! And I know why... this journal!!! I just get excited to eat healthy and then come here and write it all down. I usually talk to my family, friends, and boyfriend about my diet and exercise, but I always feel like they get sick of me talking about it and really don't want to hear it. In this forum, people are constantly checking to see if you've updated your journal with any new and exciting news. They want to know how your doing and if your staying on track and they want to see measurements and pictures and stuff..... or maybe it's just me haha.

Well the weekend has arrived again! And that means another super hard challenge of not drinking. I don't have any money to reward myself with clothes this time around though so I'll have to just stay strong.

Actually I have a confession to make.... I feel like if I don't mention this that I am cheating myself. Last weekend when I was at my friends party everyone was drinking and I wanted to drink sooooooo bad.... BUT I DIDNT!! But I wanted to get all goofy and not sober like everyone else.. so I did some magic mushrooms. They are low cal right????????? At least I didn't drink and consume sooo many bad calories. And I was able to stick to not drinking cus I had a sub... I know that sounds terrible!! This weekend though I'm not doing any of that stuff so it's gonna be more of a challenge to stay on track.

Anyways meals for today look like this:

Breakfast: Fibre One Cereal w/ sliced almonds, skim milk, and vanilla yogurt 321 cal
Snack: Trail Mix 157 cal
Lunch: Chili beans w/ brown rice and asparagus 371 cal
Snack: Carrot sticks w/ Catalina dressing 129 cal
Dinner: Huge ass salad w/ cheddar cheese, tomatoes, onion, red and yellow pepps, cucumber, lettuce obviously, and balsamic vinegarette dressing (calorie-wise) 208 cal

Total: 1186... adjusted to 1300

I can't wait for tomorrow!!! I get to eat eggs for bfast!! I'll probably eat other things different from what I eat during the week, keeping in mind the health factor of course :D

Today is my HIIT training day and I will probably be adding one more session if it to my workout.

Weigh in for the June challenge is on Monday so lets hope I can shed some lbs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
