For fat loss it's usually recommended doing a diet high in protein, and a bit lower in carbs and fat.
But if you work out hard as well, you should make sure to also get enough carbs, especially in your post workout meal.
But another important factor is how many calories you eat a day. Could you give some info regarding your weight and height? Are you working out? Lifting weights and doing high intensity interval training is very beneficial for weight loss, and often necessary to lose those last few pounds.
It is also important to go for lean sources of protein (chicken, turkey, tuna, eggs, salmon, lean beef, cottage cheese), complex carbs (whole grain bread and rice, oatmeal, lots of vegetables, beans, some fruit etc) and healthy fat (almonds and other unprocessed nuts, salmon, eggs)
