Wanna Be Skinny's Weight Loss Journey

Hi Marty!!! My last name's Marty so we are friends ;-)

Look, don't get down. We all have gotten down on ourselves when the weight doesn't seem to budge. Are you gaining weight? The answer's no. Are you watching what you eat and making better decisions about food? The answer's yes. So why do we get down on ourselves? Because it's human nature. We must be doing something wrong right? Not at all. This is your life, the only one you got. You're doing these things to better yourself for yourself. Keep at it, know that you are not alone and that you have support. You're at a plateau, we all hit them and only the strong willed get past them. You are strong willed Marty! Keep posting and keep doing everything in your power to succeed.

Just a suggestion for exercise, do you have access to a YMCA or club that has a pool? I know you may be shy about getting in a swim suit, but water exercise is best for people with a lot of weight and bad joints...

Keep at it!!! I'm pulling for ya!

Hi bgdave4
Nice to meet you and thank you for your kind words--they really do help!!
I think the reason this is getting to me so bad is the first 93 lbs just seam to drop off, it like I did'nt even have to do anything--which was GREAT!! Now I've been at 305 for about 2 months now--how long do the plateaus last?

Just a suggestion for exercise, do you have access to a YMCA or club that has a pool?

We live out in the county it's about 15 miles to town and it's just a small town.
Thanks for stopping by---friend ;-)

Don't get down Marty! You are trying soo hard. Plateaus can last a very very long time... it totally sucks but they can. You've already lost 93 pounds that's such an amazing feat that many others never get to. Just be patient and the weight will come off again.

As for exercising... it may seem silly.... but you can dance around while sitting down. A lot of people get up and dance around... but if you're having trouble with your feet ... sitting and dancing around to music will also burn calories. Maybe you can get some sort of small hand weights and do some exercises with those.

Don't give up and be the strong person you are!

Hi Jenna,
Thanks for your words of incouragement-they really do help!! It's so nice to know that I'm not in this weight struggle by myself.

A friend give me a tape from Richard Simmons-Blast off, it's a 20 minute workout. I was thinking about trying it--I don't no if I can do it but the 20 mins. dose'nt sound to bad.

Well I'm not feeling so bad today, not as bad as yesterday anyway. I did'nt get to my RS tape today but I will try it.

I'm still kinda new here--I'd like to find some other people that has a lot of weight to lose that mite have some of the same struggles and medical problems as me. My question is--how to I find them or do a search to find them? I've run across posts and other diary's that I'd like to read again and I don't know how to find them again.

Would also like to know how to post pictures--I mite get up enough nerve to post some of my before pictures later on---That's a BIG step!!!:)

Hey everybody!! I'M BACK

I haven't been posted in my journal in about 6 months. I been having a lot a health problems and been going to the drs. been hopefully things are slowing down a bit now.
Well, a little good news--I have'nt gained any weight back, I'm still at 305,but I have'nt lost any either.
I've been going to the Orthopaedic for my knee- really bad arthritis. I joined Curves back in Oct. but have been out for the last 2 months because of my knee and just got the OK from the dr. to go back next week. I'm happy about that--any other ladies do Curves out there?
I've also lost my diet ticker on the bottom of my posts,I guess they expire if there not used--how do I get it back on my posts?
Hope to hear from all my old buddys and make some new ones too!!

MARTY

I had my weight in at Curves today, and my weight is 303,the last weight in before my knee promblems I was 308--so them scales are going in the right directions.:hurray:. I've been keeping my calories bewteen 1500- 2000. I'm not sure when I'll have to cut the calories down lower, but I think I'm OK till I get down to at least 250.

Talk to everybody soon,
Marty:waving:

STARTING WEIGHT 398, WEIGHT NOW 303,LOST:95 LBS.

Well,I had a really bad weekend--I eat everything in sight, don't know why I guess the devil got in me:reddevil: I ate a whole bag of tater tots (I think is has 8 servings) 4 BIG muffins(you could easy take one muffin and make 2-3 servings),these are the major "NO NO's" plus all the other food I just ate at my meals. When I go on a binge like this-I start thinking--"Man, I've really screwed up now-so what's the use to try" and I really get down on myself, and it takes a day or so to get my thinking back right--where I can give it another try. Dose anybody else struggle with this? Sometimes I feel like I'm the anyone that deals with these ups and downs.

I'm back on track now and was really surprised when the scales were still at 303, how could I go on a binge like that and not gain any weight?? I'm sure somebody can tell me how that works. I'm not complaining--just very puzzled.

Later,
Marty:seeya:

I probably wouldn't even cut them down lower even then.. in fact you might be better off long term raising your calories... so you do have room to play when they get lower...

Staying On Track

Just thought I would check in, I've been doing pretty good so far. I been staying bewteen 1500-2000 calories and going to Curves 3x aweek, and walking the dog. A jack russel that's full of energy--sometimes I think he walks me instead of me walking him!!

Hi maleficent,
I noticed you've lost alot of weight, congrats!! what is your calorie intake and what sort of exercise program do you do? How did you adjust it as you lost?

Thanks, Later:party:
