UncoverBeauty's Journey Home

i see you're not in a good mood. those pants probabily feel tighter because of muscles :) you say you're addicted to elliptical. don't worry this is only temporary. it happened to me also. i have no idea why.

you should feel proud of yourself...and if you feel slimmer in the face then you probabily are. so what if some people don't notice?

as for that guy. honestly, he doesn't deserve a second glance let alone you to let him ruin your accomplishment for you. you should be proud of yourself and every pound you lose. remember you are doing this for yourself and not to make someone else happy. what goes around comes around. you can and will find someone worth your time :)

have a great sunday! Lena

Lena:: I hope it's just muscle, if it is, then I can be content with that. I have a funny feeling my stomach is gonna be the trouble spot. Which sucks since it's my biggest problem. I am pretty proud of myself, I'm becoming more aware of what I eat, what the calories are, how much fat is in it. I haven't been in the 2000 calories in a few days, and I've only been up in the 2000's twice this month, everything has been below 1,500!! Mostly on the 1,300 side, which is where I wanna be!! Actually, that guy just made my day right now. I asked him how much he thinks I weigh, he said 170! I always thought that he thought I was really really fat. (He's my bestfriend, we never actually end up hating each other, it's sorta odd) But to hear him say 170, and him be truthful about it, makes me feel good, even though he said what he did say last night.

So I got up some courage to weigh myself this morning. I weigh 279 right now. Which is fantastic to me, since all last week I weighed 283 (bloatedness).

When I weighed myself at the gym about two or so weeks ago, it said I weighed 283. When I came home, I used our bathroom scale and it said 290. Now, I trust the gym scale more then I do our scale (our scale, even when the doctors scale said I was 277 when I was sick, our scale told me 295, so that's why I don't trust it, it never goes below 285, no matter what the gym and doctors scale say) well anyways, our scale said 286 for me, so I knocked the 4lbs off of 283. Cause you'd think that 4lbs lost is 4lbs lost on anyscale..right?

Congrats on your success thus far.

Regarding those jeans, were they recently washed and dried? If so that could be the reason they feel a little tighter! I know mine always feel that way after I have dried them. I can't wait for the day that they are too loose just out of the dryer. :)

Happy Sunday!

Sadly enough they weren't recently washed and dried. They had been when I took the first pictures, then I only wore them for pictures =(

Happy Sunday to you tooo!! Hope its a good one!

Awww I'm sorry about what he says. Your face looks beautiful to me! You have been doing so well. I'm also 17. I hope you have a great day!! Don't worry about the jeans...they will be falling off one day!

I wouldn't worry too much about different weights and minor clothes or weight fluctuations. The body is a weird and wonderful thing and reacts in odd ways. You may be eating more veg which may be causing your stomach to bloat a bit whist it adapts - long term these things will not be important.

I suggest that you only weigh yourself once a week, and stick to the same scales. If the home scales are unreliable, don't use them. What they show might bring you down and affect your weight loss efforts, and if you can't trust them don't put yourself up for that.

I also think that when we really start getting to grips with our weight loss we look at ourselves more critically - and sometimes this can make it seem that clothes are tighter, that we are bigger, when really we are just noticing how tight our clothes really are having previously avoided the issue.

Good luck with your operation.

Hi there,
I'm sure you've done well during this time. It's wise to trust the scales and the clothes, but give it some time. Big lifestyle changes can cause your body to act weirdly for a while and hormonal things can easily add 4 pounds to your weight in 24 hours, it's all just water, and can go away as fast as it came..
So it doesn't really matter what your weight is today compared to yesterday, but what it is compared to a week, two weeks or a month ago.
Oops, I just noticed that 2/3 me managed to make all my points during the time I was writing this reply.
I agree with her 100%, so there's no need for me to go on.
Keep up the good work!
Juliette

Roar. Welp, good news/bad news.

Good news: I can fit into some old shirts. My pants fit a bit better. I'm keeping up with my calories.

Bad news: I broke my damn foot today. Slipped on a mat on the inside steps of my friends house. Roar =(

I'm making a list of foods for my mother to buy that I can eat after surgery. Last time, I kinda ate just anything and gained a fair amount of weight, this time, I'm not letting that happen. I'll stick to fruits, veggies, low calorie, goodness =D

Then as it heals, I can start going back to the gym and getting myself into a good workout! Yay!

you might also be able to do some upper body working out - get some hand weights and work those muscles in your arms and shoulders and back.

Hope your foot recovers soon.. take care of yourself

I hope your foot heals fast, and that it's not too much of a pain!

Good luck for the next few weeks. Haha, and good thing you learned something from the last time you injured your foot. Smart move, with the food list.

Las time I injured my foot??

"Last time, I kinda ate just anything and gained a fair amount of weight, this time, I'm not letting that happen. I'll stick to fruits, veggies, low calorie, goodness =D"

I thought you meant you injured your foot before, and it didn't work out too good.

I've always wanted to play DDR, but I don't have a PS2 nor the money for one, so that's out.

Sorry it's been so long since I've been able to check in! Sounds like you're doing great - and I'm sorry to hear about your foot.

I didn't realize this until a couple months ago, but they have DDR for a PS1 as well, and you can get a PS1 on ebay for about $20. The cheap alternative for those of us who still can't fork over $100 for a video game :)

Ouch.

It is possible to lose weight without exercising, which is just as well, as it sounds as if all you will have left to exercise is the big toe of your good foot!

I suppose the hidden blessing is that you broke your foot when you were going to be laid up anyway.

I wont be updating for a bit. I'm not really counting calories cause I've hardly been eating.

Surgery went okay yesterday, was there from 10:30am to 4pm. The incision is 5inches long by 2 inches deep. He stitched up some of it but left the rest as an open wound that needs to heal from the inside out. Brings a whole new meaning to a pain in the ass. (Well..lower spine/top of the crack heh). My throat is swallon, my neck is stiff, my foot hurts.

They gave me 4 vials of painkillers at the hospital and 1 oxycodine. They have me on Propoxy and Oxycodine now and antibiotics.

Roar. =D Thanks for all the comments!

Things have been going alright. I haven't been eating that many calories lately. Just haven't wanted food, but that's expected with the antibiotics. The funny thing is, I've been craving things like brownies/cookies/fruit loops, really bad ever since I came home from the hospital. I don't actually want it, just the idea of it sounds fantastic to me. I've been doing an okay job with keeping away from it and sticking to healthier choices. I have to wait a while before I can start exercising again. I don't want to risk the pain, ripping any stitches open, or inhibiting how the wound is going to heal shut.

I'm really wanting the day that I can exercise again to come around. I am more then ready to just get rid of all this fat once and for all. =D Can't wait for spring this year and summer, I'll actually get to enjoy it this year..and swim!!

That's about all; I've been reading everyones journals, just haven't commented much. :)

Here's to a speedy recovery

Hi UncoverBeauty; thanks for posting a welcome on my diary. I just read yours and think you're doing great. 12 pounds of buttah gone forever!

It looks like one of your challenges is to eat enough. Do you like fruit, yogurt, almonds, cheese, crackers, tuna on rye bread, low-salt soup, that kind of stuff? I find, if I buy the stuff I can munch on throughout the day, it'll prevent me from eating the wrong stuff and it'll give me choices for my six little meals throughout the day.

All those healthy foods will be great nourishment for you while you recuperate. Here's to a speedy recovery!!

Welp, I've decided to follow my bathroom scale. So I had to reset my tracker. According to my scale I weigh 283 right now. Which is good. Cause it's not up there at 290 like I commonly see it!

Today was a horrible day with food. My anti biotics and painkillers made me extremely shakey so I kinda just kept eating everything. And I was drinking a lot of water.

Oddly; water has been giving me heartburn lately =/

Once I can sit on my butt, then I'll be able to drive again, then I can start going to the gym and walking, yay!!

The thing is to forget about a bad day, hide it away, pretend like it didn't happen. Don't let the bad feelings about it ruin today, which has the potential to be a good day.

You have a broken foot, and post op are stuck in the house. Comfort eating is going to be so hard to avoid. Just do your best, and don't fret about not doing as well as you could be doing. Just get through it. What's one day out of the rest of your life? Nothing! Try to think up some ways of overcoming the desire to eat though - can you play cards, or something else to pass the time and keep those hands busy. Maybe learn to knit? Things that might make tomorrow easier.
