I'm just waiting fro Cro-Cop to make his debut and crush everything in his path.

He already did and won by TKO late 1st round :)

Rampage Jackson came over also and won by TKO

UFC had a few billionaires(vince mcmahon- billionare from WWE wrestling) invest and they purchased a few small MMA companies/get some more talented fighters.

Randy did retire, but he is coming back to fight for the heavy weight title (he said he has seen some holes in Tim Silvia's game). He was a light heavy weight before, so I think it will be interesting too see him fight up one class. I'm not a Tim Silvia fan so I want Couture too win. Buy yea, its a great fight to order.

Tim Silvia (Heavy weight champ) vs Randy Couture (Hall of Famer)

Matt Hughes (former champion - has lost 1 time in 5 years - great fighter)

Rich Franklin (former champion)

* Both Matt Hughes and Rich Franklin are both coming off losses (both losses resulted in losing their title) but they are really good fighters.

Sobral is also a good submission fighter, though he is coming off a loss by KO by chuck liddell in the 1st, but before that loss he won 12 in a row I think.

If you have never seen any MMA fights this would be a good 30$ to spend to see some of the best and see why this is one of the fastest growing sports in the world.

What!? When was Cro-Cop's fight? *heads to Youtube*

-edit-

Super ownage. Cro-Cop tore his ACL less than two weeks before this fight? Hahahahahah...it's over for whoever's in his way. It's over.

Cro Cop can do some damage in the heavy weight division for sure. If couture cant beat silvia then cro cop can, I win either way.

Cro Cop does remind me of the russian from the rocky movies though, hes a beast.

Yea, all MMA fighters have pretty intense 3x a day workouts. Some peoples genetics makes it harder for them to have a lean look, I think his might be somewhat like that because he puts in enough input for sure.

I knew he would go too the UFC though, the 2 biggest companies (Pride and UFC) Cro Cop is ranked number 2 in heavy weights in the world, and Pride only has the number 3 ranked, which he has beaten 3 times. His options were too limited at pride, he could only sit at the top.

IMO though, UFC does not really have great heavy weights. They have the best in the world light heavy weights, and all classes under that they have the best of.

Its also pretty cool how big cro cop is in Croatia, hes a huge star in his home country.

Yep that was in 2000, His first ever loss by KO. He started in 1996 and dominated untill 2000. That was also kickboxing, not MMA. That fight actually made him quit K-1 kickboxing and make a switch to MMA. His MMA record is 22-4-2. 1 loss by KO, one by submission, and 2 by split decision.

This guy is the real deal, before he started kickboxing he was in a anti terrorist unit.

But yea, everyone loses. There is nobody that dominates every fight. But with a record like his and with 15 KO's, and being the number 2 heavy weight fighter in the world hes pretty impressive.

I dont mean to brag on him so much, hes not even in my top 10 of fav fighters :)

I'm not convinced about the Couture comeback. I have a horrible feeling that this is all just hyped up for the money (the paycheck will be HUGE) and that Randy may well make a fool of himself. I sincerely hope this is not the case as I'm not much of a Sylvia fan. With any luck, Randy will prove me wrong!

Looks like an excellent line-up though - looking forward to it.

Thats true, he could pull a "Mike Tyson". There is no doubt that he is getting payed over 6mil to show up, win or lose. But he does say he has seen a hole in silvias game and that can beat him. Which I think he can, I think silvias hole is in takedown defence and another hole in when he is on the ground, If couture takes him down, and silvia leaves something open or makes 1 mistake Couture has the skill and knowledge of ground game to submit him easy.

On the other hand, even though Silvia does not look cut or lean, I would say he is training harder than Couture. He knows couture can submit him is he goes on the ground. So I would bet money he is working on takedown defence 99% of the time when he is sparring. I'm sure he is also working on his ground game.

If Couture fails a few take downs and catches a few right hands from silvia though, hes going to sleep.

It can easially go either way, and be a good fight. Not a long one, but a good fight. I cant imagine it going passed the 2nd round. Either by TKO or submission.

I agree that Couture's ground & pound is clearly some of the best in the UFC. Well, a year or two ago it was anyway. I don't doubt he has the experience, I'm just wondering if he has gotten a little soft since he retired (in the physical sense, not the psychological sense)

Sylvia has lost his main advantage which was that he was constantly underestimated by his opponents. He does however have a big reach advantage so, as you say, if he defends the takedown and manages to throw his hands effectively, it could be a very short night!

Couture could have lost his psychological edge, but only if it was lost by Chuck Liddel's right hand. He runs one of the most successful MMA gyms in the world.

Take a look at the list of who Couture trains/teaches/spars with every day.

Brandon Vera
Bas Rutten
Jason "Mayhem" Miller
Karo Parisyan
Eddie Bravo

also 2 world class kickboxing coaches

Rob Kaman
Roxy Richardson

Trust me these guys are the real deal, and I don't think Randy would come back just too pay the bills (like tyson lol). Hes has a lot of stuff going for him, whats another 6 mil? Pretty down too earth cool guy too, cant picture pulling a tyson.

Still impossible fight too call though, can go either way like I said. But I know both of them are 100% focused, no doubt.

Plus the good fights are gonna be Rich "Broke Nose" Franklin (because he got him nose broken and lost his title in the same night :( ) and Matt Hughes. Too me its really like watching 3 championship matches. Glad I got tickets
