He isn't really fighting up a class at all. Let's not forget that he was indeed a heavyweight before he went down a level and won the lightheavyweight title. I see this as an advantage for Coutoure as he doesn't have to go through the rigors of cutting weight, despite competing against a much larger man.
True true, his last few fights were as a lightheavyweight, so he is coming up a class from when he retired. I know this, you know this, the person I replyd to probably did not.
Yeah that's true, although i feel that the 185's are lacking depth as well.
Franklin is good, I like anderson silva, mike swick is good stuff, I like leben alot too but he cant keep his hands up. Cant think of anymore off hand that I like.
Impossible! Both Randy and Chuck would have to lose a considerable amount of muscle mass for this fight to happen. Chuck is 205 pounder dude.
Was talking about cro-cop dropping down to fight chuck, good call on the weight though. my bad. Who would want to see a Liddell Couture 4? haha
They can bring Shamrock and ortiz back out too...
How do you know who is training harder? Have you personally been to their camps and watched them train?...Also go back and watch Sylvia's last match against Monson, the guy just couldn't take him down at all, i'm completely convinced that Randy will have a VERY hard time taking down Syliva.
I have seen tapes of them both train, but I get what you are saying. Silvia has a belt to defend, he has alot to lose, Randy has nothing to lose. Their training styles are alot diffrent. Randy will be trainign stand up, and takedowns, silvia will train defence and striking.
As for the Monson fight... 5'9 vs 6'8... Monson had a few takedowns but silvia jsut got back up and tossed him a right... Randy is 6 ft, so only a 8 inch diff (haha) I dont feel like looking up the reach on each of them. But if randy gets under his hands he can get the take down, hes pretty explosive on his takedowns. Just my opinion. I respect both fighters for showing up.
