I was given some advice some months back: go by how your clothes fit, not the scale. It could be that you're building up lean muscle or your body is just revolting against change.

One thing you might want to consider is measuring out your food portions. Also what are you drinking? and if any of your drinks have calories, are you calculating those into your daily allowance too?

Good advice but how will I ever know how much I weigh lol And all I drink is water and thats it. Nothing else. I know for a fact I didnt gain 8 lbs. But how on earth could it tell me I have. I am so freaking confused. now I really have no idea if what I am doing is really making any difference at all. GRRRRRR
 
Day 8!

Well its odd that day eight rolls around and its the same day I gain 8 lbs!. I refuse to believe I gained 8 lbs! So I went and got a tape measure tonight.
Arms - 17 1/2inches around. (unflexed) 19inches flexed
Stomach - 63 Inches
Chest - 55 1/2 inches
Waist - 56inches
Thighs - 35 inches

Breakfast with some regular cherrios
Lunch was left over goulash w/ milk
NO SNACK! SUcked, I got super busy and couldnt eat :(
Dinner 7grain blackpeper turkey sandwich w/ a few chips and a bunch of water

Bout to warm up with some boxing and then walk/jog a mile. Then protein shake and sleep.

Boxing was 2 3min rounds then straight to the treadmill. Took 1 min off my time! 26min. MILE! (Ya its slow I know lol)

Day 9

Breakfast - Milk and regular Cheerios w/ 2 eggs.

Lunch - Was on the go 2 12count nuggets from chickfila and water.

Snack - Green Apple w/ 1 slice of wholewheat bread with peanut butter

Workout - Gunna work out early today I think Instead of freaking 8 pm lol Hitting the weights upper/lower than a mile jog. **Spent 45mins doing weights and I am tired as hell! So I'ma skip the jog for today and pick it up this weekend. Unforunatly there arent many lower body exercises I can do since I dont have a long bar(squat, dead lift, etc.) so i need to go buy one! But all in all it was a great workout. My arms are huge! Straight after I did a 40g protein shake (I hope 40g is enough for right after a lifting session).

Dinner - It may seem like i eat the same things over and over and I do :) If I find something I like and its good I keep eating it until i hate it! So tongiht is Goulosh again! 90/10 beef, organic tomatoe sauce, some high fiber whole wheat noddles I found at the store blah blah blah you know whats in it by now.
 
Haha, we did have a couple of days that looked the same. That's hilarious.

You're doing a great job. I'm so jealous that you are noticing a difference in clothes. Hopefully I'll feel the change like have.

Nice job on shaving off a minute of the Mile. It seems like a small deal but think about what you've done in just a few days!!

Ya I say I notice and I do but like I got done working out and they felt tighter. I just hope im losing =X Thanks for the support yo.
 
Well its day 10! And I haven't lost any weight yet. Youd think in 10 days I might have lost even a little something =/

Breakfast - Milk/Regular Cheerios/Eggs

Lunch - Was at work, same as day 9

Snack - Bout to rock out some peanut butter w/ a lil milk

Dinner - Sandwich prolly maybe a few chips, 2400mg of fish oil, and a cup of fresh peaches. Then ill workout prolly 40 mins after that.

Its amazing, if you put chips in a bowl...you dont eat half the bag. It's pretty awesome.

10 days gone and 20 days left for month 1. If I havent lost anything in 10 days. Is 5 lbs bad for one month of work? Doesn't seem worth it to me. Perhaps I am doing something wrong.

your doing fine, forget about the scales, your clothes are looser so you are on the right track. grab a tape measure and measure some key locations (hip, waist, chest, thigh, bicep) then track the changes. Grab a before pic and take another in a months time. then compare the two.

Ya I track my cals. but most often I don't track my major nutrients. I guess I should. but even if I did I wouldn't know what is to high or low for me lol.

Is it possible to stay the same weight and gain an equal amount of muscle for fat lost?
 
Day 13

Sorry its been a few days since I updated. Been kinda crzy lately and my diet has been just so so. I had to eat out a few times but I tried to make decent choices. Anyways, its been nice to lift again and even after a few out I feel myself getting stronger. But still not lighter. Its the weirdest feeling to feel like your clothes fit better but to know you haven't actually "lost" weight. Perhaps it my mind wanting me to think I've lost weight I dunno. Anyways here is the plan for today.

Breakfast - Regular Cheerios (not rly a breakfast kinda person)

Lunch - I think i'ma go to subway today.

Snack (3pm) - Fresh peaches and a green apple.

Dinner - Dunno, might have the other half of the subway sandwich or I might cook goulosh but with chicken instead of beef.


And somewhere in the I need to job 2 miles. Perhaps its what I'm eating or i'm not working out enough I dunno. Taking measurements and pics of week 2 tomorrow. We will see what they say. Although I have a feel nothing has changed.
 
Ok so I weighted my self today and I'm am still gaining but my body tape measurements say something else!!!

Old (Days 8)

Arms (Biceps) - 18 Inches (unflexed) 19 1/2 flexed (gained a lil from lifting I guess)
Stomach - 59inches! (lost 4 inches)
Chest - 54inches (lost 1 1/2 inches!)
waist - 55 1/2 (same)
Thighs - 34inches (lost 1 inch!)

Still confused why I'm not losing actual "weight" but the tape doesn't lie. And neither do the pictures. I just took my 2 week pics and compared them to my day one and I can see alot of difference. I want to post them up but I am scared people will judge me. I am extremely overweight but I want to show people the work I have done. I dunno I might make a thread tonight.

Anyways, thats bout it. Looking for my first house I think. Kinda cool :)
 
Not much to report but my diet will be tested as I will be making a few 16 hour trips in the next 2 weeks hopefully I can find some decent stuff to eat at fast food places =/ wish me luck guys!~!
 
Great job on losing those inches, and when in doubt, pack a cooler full of good stuff that way you wont be tempted by the bad.
 
(Day 22)
Man its been a little while since I updated! Well things have just been so so. I haven't ran as much cause I have been busy with work and my sleep schedule is kinda crazy right now. But I have been strength training every 2 days. Upper and a little lower(mostly squats). I can tell a difference in my arms for sure but I still havne't lost any actual weight. Today I will strength train as well as run.

As far as eating goes, its been kinda crazy as well. I ate out twice last week (with fries and cokes) but those were really the only 2 things that I think killed me. That plus some chips. But I am still eating ok, 4 meals a day, cooking at night and fresh fruits and a few veggies during the day. When I measure tonight I don't think ill have made any improvement from the last measurement. But oh well, I got the rest of my life to lose weight huh? Why not take it slow.
 
Old (Day 14)

Stomach - 59inches! (lost 4 inches)
Chest - 54inches (lost 1 1/2 inches!)
waist - 55 1/2 (same)
Thighs - 34inches (lost 1 inch!)

New (Day 22)

Arms - 18 1/2'' Unflexed (Same as day 14 flexed) = Gained 1/2''
Stomach - 59'' = Same
Chest - 55 1/2'' = Gained 1 1/2''
Waist - 55 1/2'' = Same
Thighs - 33'' = Lost 1''

Talk about a downer. Perhaps I am doing something wrong. I refuse to believe that in 22 days I have lost 0lbs. This makes me wanna go eat some McDonalds lol.
 
your measurements are changing which is good. have you considered having your bodyfat % measured ? with your measurment changes i think your body composition is changing.
 
Thanks for the post Tru! I am sure that something is going on but its just going slow haha and thats ok with me! I won't let this get me down. Long as I make mostly good decision and try more veggies and workout perhaps things will fall into place. Gotta stay positive right?
 
Just a quick post for yall. We are having our family reunion this weekend lol. What does that mean? Bad food. What am I going to do. Eat as much of it as I want to!!!!!!!!!!! I was going to not do any of it but I figured I want to havefun and eat what I want to with the family and if it takes me a few weeks to get it off I am ok with that. Cant be hardcore 24/7 right! Anyways life is good :) Good Fam, Good job, good food. Good Goodness.
 
sounds like you know what your doing....i think sometimes it helps to just forget about it all for just one day, kick back and enjoy yourself...it also helps get rid of those cravings. then the next day get back up and continue as you were.....all the best and more importantly have FUN :seeya: xoxo
