Txturtlegirl's Diary

Whenevery I would lose my motivation I would say silly things to myself like "getting back into the saddle" - which cracked me up because I was horseback riding at the time;) Your motivation will come back! Especially if you can power through and do what you need to do now to stay on track!! Good luck TX!!!

You drink too much water! Yeah, that's the ticket! All that water weight; silly girl!
Hey, you were estimating a gain of 5 pounds, and only gained 3; it could be worse. Heck, you expected it to be worse!

I hope you don't mind my spreading some "Oregon Sunshine" on your thread, I just figured I should drop by and say hello. Motivation is a real problem for me sometimes, so I can really understand where you are coming from in some of your posts.

The most important thing to remember is that this is not an "all or nothing" proposition and that you weren't planning to be finished this week anyhow, so you might as well just stick with your food plan ANYHOW, right? :D
See ya later!

Thanks, guys. Y'all did make me feel a little better.

I brought my workout stuff with me to work. I normally go Saturday mornings after work, but I'm working tomorrow night, too (which I don't normally do), and usually if I have to work the next night, I don't go, because I can use all the sleep I can get. However, if I don't get in there in the morning, it's going to be bad for the rest of the week, so in I go! I'll go Sunday morning, too, for the jumpstart on the rest of the week. And because I usually go Mondays after work (at 3pm), and since I'm off this monday for working Saturday night (confused yet? lol), I might not go. I should, but "should" and "will" are two different things.

Gotta go to work now!

"Shore is quiet in there..."

Come on, dish about the skipped the workout and how you went to an "All-Male Revue" instead! Did they serve up a bunch of free drinks, or what? :p
See you soon!

LOL! You're too funny! You'd think, with this being Vegas and all, I'd have some good excuse, but no. Just laziness. But, at least I can admit that. It's not even that I'm busy, just didn't feel like going. Didn't make it to the gym Saturday morning, either, even though I had all my stuff to go. I got halfway through work for the night and realized I couldn't go - I had the wrong shoes. I didn't have my tennis shoes, just my crocs, and those don't work well on the eliptical and bike.

Monday, I'm going to go grocery shopping. That way, there's no excuses, like "there's nothing healthy to eat in the house...let's go to McDonald's, it's just down the road..."

But, on a positive note...2.4 of that 3 pounds I gained is gone! That helped the motivation some.

Back under 200, way to go! :D

Well heck, at least you are taking a good attitude about it all; I always worry when people get too caught up in the drama of the moment and forget that it isn't a race to a finish line. The problem with thinking of it as a race is you want to hurry so you can finish and, well, we don't ever really "finish" needing to eat right and exercise.
Having worked that thought deeply into the creases in my brain, I am trying to spread the idea to other folks, or at least see if anyone disagrees. ;)
Luckily, some people like the freedom of this attitude.

Consider keeping a pair of "workout shoes" in the trunk of your car or your gym bag/locker/whatever to help cut down on the number of times you forget them. I know what it's like, but it is a simple way to help reduce those sorts of mistakes, and that way, even if you forget your workout clothes, you can always just stop and buy a cheap set of sweatpants and a T-shirt somewhere, and have your broken-in workout shoes ready to go. I wouldn't want to work out in brand new shoes; it sounds like blisters waiting to happen.

Enough rambling, I hope you had a good time! :)

It's 5:45am, on Sunday (I think?), what are you doing up??

I don't normally wear the stupid ugly shoes for work, but with our new IV room and the new "clean room nazi" attitude around, my friday nights will involve ugly shoes that slip on and off easily so that I can change into "clean" shoes when I walk through the door. Sigh.

I could ask you the same thing! Vegas might be close to a 24 hour town, but the internet is the real deal. Besides, I'm doing homework; I forgot about a couple of assignments during the week and am staying up late to finish them. Not to mention my chronic insomnia; and sleeping pills don't really seem to help. It's yet another reason I want to drop a foot or two off my waist; sleeping better would be very nice.

Does your answer mean you aren't going to leave some workout shoes in your trunk or locker?

I was up because I was at work until 6:30am.

No, that's not what I meant! LOL. It just meant that normally I wear my tennis shoes to work, but since I didn't, I forgot them. I need to get new ones for work anyway, and I'll just toss my current ones in the car.

Better? LOL :)

wow ... you have really inspired me tx..you have got your eating and calories under control even with the shifts you have to work. thats made me realise theres no excuse for me going under ..all i have is school 8.30 - 5.15. thankyou - and well done!

:D You seem kinda hostile about admitting a male might have had a good idea, TX; what's up with that? So much attitude... *shakes head mock-sadly*

*points at the other posts* Look over there, other people think you are doing great, too!

Yesterday sucked. Pure and simple. Attitude from the hubby from the time I got up (at 2:30pm) until he picked at the way I was cooking supper and I snapped. :( I ended up replying to you after all that. So if you're serious about me sounding hostile, I'm sorry. It really wasn't at you. If you were kidding...ignore me, please. :p

And I KNOW (somewhere in my head, anyway!) that I'm doing well. I mean, 20 pounds (give or take that 0.6lb) in about 2 months is more than I've ever managed to lose before, even on Weight Watchers. I think part of it was that I realized that in October I'll be 30. I don't want to be 30 and fat. Our family has a very bad medical history - and that scares me. So if I can get rid of the excess weight, I'll be one step ahead, right?

I think I'm just tired. I don't know if it's the work schedule or the weather not knowing what it wants to do, or what. Pay no attention to me.
