I definitely need to find some good shoes too...I think it was you or somebody else that recommended new balance? The ones I have are SUPPOSED to be for walking but they aren't much support. In fact after wearing sandles all summer I'm dreading having to put on socks and start wearing them ;/. I hate shoes, lol.

I hope your knees feel better. Would it help at all if you wore those ace knee things that slide on for support while you're doing your exercise? I know my cousin has a blue one she wears when hers flare up.

At the moment my ankle is also bothering me. And when I'm working out with the Nikes on the elliptical, my toes get numb due to the compression on my feet. (No, I don't have diabetes!)

This morning was the company's "First Friday" breakfast. On the first Friday of every month one division of the company treats the entire company to breakfast. The breakfasts are usually from places like McDonald's or Chick Fil A and are VERY unhealthy, though sometimes they have fresh fruit. This time they didn't...it was a whole breakfast spread from McDonald's.

I went in there and it was 3 conference sized tables piled high with McSkillet burritos (whatever those are, never have had one), sausage biscuits, and southern style chicken biscuits. On the last table they had fruit and yogurt parfaits.

I grabbed a parfait and a southern style chicken biscuit. I ate all of the parfait but ate only half the chicken biscuit and tossed the rest in the trash. Total damage: 365 calories. That's astonishing for that amount of food.

4-5 months ago I'd have walked out of there with probably 3 biscuits, over half my daily intake for the day. Plus orange juice.

There were people walking out of there with 2-3 burritos and/or 2-3 sandwiches apiece. Yikes.

I feel proud of myself for mostly resisting the temptation to gorge. It helps that I don't really care for McDonald's, though I'm a sucker for biscuits.

Me too, I love their biscuits. Good job resisting :) I just had this image of people diving on tables of McDonald's and stuffing their faces, lol.

Wow! Way to go! I am a sucker for egg and cheese biscuits, luckily I don't get up early enough and I don't have a car, so I only get it when we're leaving for vacation. :D

I know I would eat that biscuit and hashbrowns with an XL coke or sprite (or that blue gatorade that I love oh so much!) and swallow that all down with a couple of pieces of toast with butter and honey. :blush5:

mmmm...

:piggy::piggy::piggy:

I'm not sure I could do that anymore. Like, physically, all of the food and liquid being crammed down my gullet makes me feel ill. :willy_nilly:

But yeah, way to go!

:)

Those company lunchs and breakfasts are always tough. Nice work on the self-control. Thats my weak spot, self-control when dree items are in front of me.

Thanks guys!

There was a ton of food left over too; pretty much everyone on my team had seconds and thirds, but I didn't touch it. :hurray:

I know exactly what you mean about not wanting to work out when you're sick. Except I stay hungry... :(
haha

:)

Working out when your sick = the suck. Better to just relax and get better so you can beat yourself back down into submission again once your healthy. :)
we have a "team lunch" tomorrow at a place that server killer garlic fries..yummmmmmmmm.
I think Im just going to have a plate of those a a bottle of tums and I'll be set tomorow. (Oh, and a tin of breath mints)....

When I'm sick I am simply not hungry, I don't feel like eating.

However I have still been monitoring my food intake and I struggled yesterday to get close to 1000 calories in. I know that isn't enough but if I'd eaten more, I'd have been sick to my stomach.

I've been drinking a lot of water. Whenever I'm sick like this, I drop a lot of weight in a short space of time.

I've lost 5.6lbs since October 1st. This cold I have is really taking it out of me. :ack2:

I haven't been to the gym since October 3rd, been too sick. I feel like a schlub. I hope I get better soon.

I know the feeling... it'll come back when you're ready and feeling better...

What will...my get-up-and-go or the weight? :angelsad2:

I find once the fever has broken, the only way I can get my strength back is to force myself to eat a reasonable amount of food even though I don't feel like eating, because my strength won't return if I don't eat enough. I also have to force myself to undertake activity that will make me cough until I'm scarlet. That gets some of that nasty mucus out.

I really need to quit smoking; it takes longer and longer to recover from each cold/flu because the cough hangs around for weeks. I HATE that.

Yesterday I broke 1000 calories for the day. I did not on Sunday or Monday. Yesterday I actually got up almost to 1400, but it took a lot of effort. It took me about 40 minutes to eat dinner. I'm sure my appetite will return and I'll be sorely tempted by unhealthy snacks.

In other news, I noticed when I was driving home from work (I was sent home by my boss) that the Wendy's close to my house has closed. I had mixed feelings about that...I LOVE their spicy chicken sandwich, but I'm kind of glad that particular temptation is now gone.

Many Wendy's are being converted over to Jack in the Box's. At least out here in Ca. The one right around the corner from me closed and re-opend as a JIB, and the one by my office did the same.
Hope you fell better soon!

My weight has stabilized but what began as a cold has developed into bronchitis. No gym until at least Monday on doctor's orders. I had to have a breathing treatment yesterday as my pulse ox was 88%. Apparently that's bad. :angelsad2:

Get well Soon, rest and follow the doctors orders and you should be back fighting fit again in no time !

I hope so; I've been good with taking my medication so far, but the combination of steroids and antibiotics is almost guaranteed to kick off a yeast infection and the doctor didn't give me a scrip for diflucan. So annoying. I'm also on mucinex, so that's a whole pile of pills to take every day. I HATE BEING SICK!
