txsqlchick's diary

Up to 25.2 now. I need to lose 25.6 to meet my second mini-goal of losing 10% of my weight. It'll probably be one of those weeks where I don't lose ANYTHING; it's just how life has been up to this point!

I dropped a couple of pounds almost overnight, now I've been hovering between 231 and 232 for several days now. It's starting to piss me off; it's like my body knows I'm ALMOST to 10% and it's resisting. "Noooooooooooooooo, I wanna be fat! Stop trying to lose weight!"

I think it could also be related to the fact that I haven't had a normal BM in weeks now. When I do go it's like rabbit pellets. It's so annoying. Obviously I need more fiber in my diet.

Weeks? You really shouldn't let this go too much longer without trying something...getting too backed up is bad and if you leave it too long you could end up in some pretty bad pain and in the ER gettin some "assistance". That's all I'll say without being too graphic but you're makin me worried. Have you tried prune juice or stool softener or anything? Milk of magnesia?

I finally broke down yesterday and took 2 Correctols. I HATE laxatives. It cleared the problem, though. I spent half the night on the can.

I've always had digestive issues; they run in the family. My late grandfather used to apologize to me for giving me his cantankerous digestive tract. My mother says she used to have to give me enemas as an infant. No doctor has ever expressed concern over it because I can usually go if I stuff myself with high-fiber food for a day or two, but I really should be eating a high-fiber diet and I'm not at the moment. So, it's kind of my own fault. I don't like high-fiber diets, but I have to decide what I dislike more: high-fiber diet or not being able to poop.

Today I'm going to go to the supermarket and buy some prunes, as well as some other high-fiber food. Cherries used to give me the runs but lately they haven't had that effect. There was one breakfast cereal in England that worked extremely well but I haven't been able to find it here or even online. A half cup of that with a splash of 1% milk was more than enough to get things moving again.

All bran cereal or bran buds (i dont like milk on cereal but either of those mixed into yogurt is pretty good) is baasically colon blow in a box... :D

raspberries -even the frozen variety are also fairly high in fiber...

Prunes are so in the past - old people eat prunes -they are now called dried Plums :D so fancy :D

Colon blow, LOL!

I don't really like raspberries and they're really expensive here in TX; I don't think our climate is right for growing them.

I think I'll stick to prunes, they're actually not that bad. :coolgleamA:

I'm so glad you got some relief. I have digestive problems too but mine leans toward the other extreme....hardly ever constipated, lol. I'm sure I need more fiber too so I'm just going to pick up some fiber tabs....I had some with calcium but no clue where they are since I moved.

I bought apples and prunes at the supermarket yesterday and entered both as custom foods on fitday. Hopefully they'll get things moving the natural, healthy way.

In other news, I stepped on the scale this morning and discovered I've lost 10.1% of my starting weight! Yay! I'm really pleased with that.

My next goal is to lose 15% of my starting weight and that's 218.1lbs, so I have 12.7 lbs to go. I don't have a specific time frame for that in mind, I hope to get there by late October/early November but I will get there when I get there.

Good morning....glad you're not feelin "poopy" anymore...HAHAHA. Ok I know I'm not funny :) As my husband would say, "damn puns".

Anyway you're up early. I'm only up because my "nap" yesterday turned into sleepin until 2am. Now I can't go back to sleep....partly because I was hungry when I got up and ate cottage cheese and pineapple....my stomach is PISSED off.

Gratz on the weight loss :) You're doin awesome. You're gonna be in onederland pretty soon!

Eh, it probably won't be until Christmas or later at the rate I'm going, but I didn't get this way overnight and it'll take a while to get rid of it!

When I hit my first plateau and start freaking out I'll have to have you come remind me that, lol. Especially since you worked through yours without quiting, you'll be the one I come whining to :X

Oh, what I had wasn't a plateau really, it was just a bad week.

On another board there was a poster who had been stuck at the same weight for months. I think I'd have a hard time staying encouraged if that happened to me!

6 months, YIKES!

I've noticed that whenever I go out to eat, I get so bloated the next day. I can make deep thumbprint dents all over my shins and ankles, it's disgusting.
