Turningpoint's Diary 2014-2015

Sorry to hear about your leg injury. I hope you are taking exercise seriously (and carefully) now :p Plenty of low impact stuff can still be really beneficial without causing a problem to your leg!

Well done on the loss :D And well done on the headaches lol, it's a good sign that your body is reacting, it shows that you're actually depriving it enough to have an effect! Keep it up :D

Thank you so much! Yes, I am working with a low impact set of exercises and Oh boy, I am terribly out of shape. Losing the weight will be more beneficial on my ankle in the long run due to the extra pressure added onto the joint with each step and activity I perform.

Yes, I have made it through today with a little help of Excedrin to ward off a little of the ponding and fogginess that comes with the withdrawal from the soda. I was hoping to be down to one today, but caved and actually had two. I stumbled a little, yet there is always tomorrow with a clean slate. I have also given up processed bread products which was another one of my downfalls. Go to dinner and just give me the bread basket, please :)

Congratulations Turning point 1.for adding your signature! (which i don't know how.) and 2. for your weight loss! :) you are very determined.

I'm also new here. just signed up today. :) I hope we can be buddies.

Hi everyone! :)

We went to dinner last night and our waitress didn't bring us bread. I was like..."Ok, good. She forgot! I don't have to look at it or smell it". Then she walked up to the table and set it down right in front of me. I may have shot her a dirty look. haha!

Great job on weaning off the pop. I'm on day 26 of a 30 day no pop challenge. Super hard to start with, but it doesn't bother me too much anymore. You'll get there! :)

Hi Maganda!

Thank you for your comments. Ugh, I sort of fell down over the last week and have picked myself up without too much damage. Jen helped me with the signature, If you go under the settings button and signature link , it is easy to type in the information that you want to be able to easily update.

Glad that you are here. There is a wealth of information and support who are in the process of taking charge of their weight.

Oh the bread basket, lol. I definitely would have shot her a dirty look , while drooling...

Thank you , Today is my second day of zero pop!!! I was at the store with my youngest a couple of days ago and he asked " Do you want me to get a carton of Pepsi too?" I said NO and it felt darn good, well, at least until about four hours later I really wanted that pop then.

Congrats on meeting your October goal! Excellent job!

I'm struggling with the exercise part and know it is related to my motivation to begin. I just have to make it to the point where I get up and just do it!!! Here's hoping today will be the day :banghead: Heading into day four with no pop and feel like I've had a sudden energy zap without the caffeine, but know that will be short lived. I'm ready for the fog to lift and work on replacing those fluids , along with those empty calories. I have for as far back as I can remember detested plain water and I am trying to adjust to just drinking it anyway.

You are doing great keeping off the pop. Make priorities to focus on and don't let it get to you if one thing isn't working out right now.

Well done on the pop, keep going!! Chuck some frozen berries into the water to flavor it if that makes it easier for you to drink. I guess you could put anything in water really to flavor it?

Getting into the habit of exercise can be tricky, you need to find a way to motivate yourself to do it...put money in a jar every time you work out, allow yourself the same amount of time on a games console afterwards, reward yourself with a new book/outfit/game/DVD every time you clock up a certain total of exercise? Honestly, once you start doing it, it becomes part of your routine and you need fewer motivational tactics. Not every day is easy, but it will never be as hard as the first day again ;)

Thank you and I wish I could say that I haven't had any... time to get serious again. Stress has come and taken over for the last few weeks. Healthy eating went out the door. Grr, disappointed with myself right now with the progress. Luckily I haven't gained anything back.

Exercise has been challenging to get started. With the hours lately, seems I'm too exhausted to get my butt in gear. Although, I do know that a regular exercise routine will make me have more energy!

That's the real booger about it. You have to make a gradual change or just accept that it will suck and wear you out at first and just do it anyway. I made my habit of exercise by making myself do something everyday no matter how small. It might be stretching or a short walk, but I could say my exercise for the day was x. The x built up gradually and I managed to form a habit despite starting at being completely sedentary. Now I have to get my workouts in or it doesn't feel right. I'd never been that way my whole life and now it's just how it is. You can do that too and it doesn't take much to start. It helps with the stress too. Good luck!

Just popping in to say hi, and well done on making positive changes to your life :) It's hard to get started, but once you get in the swing of things it becomes second nature. You can do it! :)
