Trops Diary

Last night wasn't too bad. We went over my friend's hose and although I did snack a bit on pretzels and dip, I was pretty good otherwise. This morning I was 201, so I'm happy for that. Music wise I wasn't all that happy. I was a bit frustrated with everyone hanging out and catching up and not getting down to the nitty gritty of playing. It's silly, I know. The band is strictly just for fun, but I know that we can make some good music. I guess it's a lot easier for the people drinking to mellow out. :D

Tonight will be a tough one. It's a Christmas party at my neighbor's house. The only people we will know there are the neighbors. I sometimes get stressed in situations like that and there is food a plenty.

Today I'm going to try to get a run in. Right now it's about 29 deg, so I'll wait till it warms up a bit. Wimpy, I know.

No excuses

OK, I've been a bad boy today. You wouldn't believe how quickly I fell off the wagon and how badly. :piggy: Three doughnuts and 4 slices of pizza. That's just inexcusable. :toetap05:

Well, tonight I'm getting to the gym without fail. It's been way too long. :gnorsi:
 
Damn those must have been some good doughnuts--doughnuts are pretty gross, to me, but maybe you have access to yummy ones, I dunno.

Your arm looks scary, but the outline of your torso looks great! :D
 
Well, I didn't make it to the gym last night, but I also did not make things worse by overindulging last night. Actually I didn't eat anything and my weight was only 202.4 this morning, so only up half a pound.

I just have gotten so busy with the Christmas thing. It's not the shopping, but rather all the other things that come with it. Kids things, wife things, work things. Nothing by it's self, but they all add up so fast.

Tonight, I have a cub scout thing and I'm hoping to get out after that. :banghead: We'll see.
 
Jeez, Trops, you and me both seem to be dicking around with the same 2-4 pounds, over and over again! About pisses me off, but probably you more since you eat way less than I do (or so it seems).
 
Hey Trops, stoppin' in to say hi! :seeya: That bruise is awesome lol! When my cheerleaders get bruises from stunting, I call 'em trophies so.... NICE TROPHY TROPS!! You definitely earned that one lol! I had a similar incident giving plasma once... no fun!

It's an Irish acoustic band and I play a drum called a bodhran. It's a lot of fun, but we are not serious.

Favorite song? I have a lot. The singer writes a bunch of songs, too, but I think my favorite is Foggy Dew. We do it in a style that I have yet to hear. It's very cool. I think the next time out we'll do some recording.

What other instruments in the band Trops? Do you play "authentic" Irish music, or just that style for your own new songs?
 
What is "authentic" I don't know. We play a lot of old favorites. Not too much on just the instrumentals, though. Mostly it's songs with vocals. Right now we have two guitars, a bass, and two bodhrans. We really need a fiddle, and the brother of one guy is an amazing fiddler, but he lives too far away. He might move back to LI, though. That would be very cool.
 
Good news: Cub scouts is canceled. :hurray:

Bad news: We are going out to eat at a steak house instead and then shopping. :willy_nilly:

The kids will still have to get to bed at a decent hour because of school tomorrow, so hopefully I can still make it to the gym. :hurray:

Christmas shopping... BAH HUMBUG!!! I can't wait for Christmas to be here already... I hate CROWDS... especially, crowds filled with ASSHOLES!! :D
I went to get the last gift I had to get to wrap up this years shopping, and I am in the aisle of the item I want to get my dad, and all of a sudden, this "elderly couple" STOPS dead center aisle, and starts to have a 5 minute argument on whether to get their grandson a Video game, or some of the movies on his list.... Now I respect the "older" generations very much, and try to take things in stride, but finally after 5 minutes I say... "could you please excuse me... I need to grab that right there... by the way, you are at HOME DEPOT!!!! They don't carry either of those items!!!!!!!!!! Yep, call me Scrooge!!

LOL! Really, that mad me laugh.

I have SO not gone shopping at all for anyone, everyone gets cool music I know they'd like, and bottles of wine from me. Fuckin' A, I would dig it! Plus I already have a gift for my niece that I picked up in Hawaii in August for this occasion :D

Zomg you are hilarious! You know you could start a holiday business that way...I would so pay you to go xmas shopping with me next year and say stuff like that to people :) We could call you the xmas shopping body guard.

Anyway I came by to say hi to Trops and got sidetracked after reading that. SO...
