Trops Diary

Well, I had an early dinner of tuna with raw onion on cucumber slices with skim milk to drink. I figure the whole thing was somewhere around 900 calories. It didn't seem like all that much, when eating it. :D It is about 130g of protein, though, and I didn't have anything but a bowl of cereal and an eggnog latte today, so I should be good. I don't think I'm going running tonight, but I might (big might) do some of JZ's wall sits. I'll have to see how I feel later.

You'd probably shit yourself if I ever did. Come on over to Long Island and we'll split wood. :D

I'll make it out that way one of these days. Probably not too soon, though.

I tried to get my daughter to split some yesterday. She was all for it, but the maul is just too heavy. I might have to make a kiddie sized one.

Why have kids if not to be little chore doing servants??? :D :D Just kidding Trops... I'm sure you know that! I have my kids "help" all the time. Even at their young ages, they love to contribute! With the colder months here, I have some fun winter projects to do in my woodshop. They love to help daddy, so I have plans to have them each make their own birdhouses, and I have a plan for a doll house for my daughter... should be some good quality shop time with them. I don't know about you, but some of my fondest memories from childhood are with my dad, "messin' around making furniture, or wrenchin' on cars! Ah, it's good to pass on the good stuff!! Are you done splitting yet? It is a great workout for sure!

I didn't split any today. I fired up the forge and banged out some stuff in there. I haven't fired it up in the longest, so it was good to get out there again. Tonight I'm supposed to play roller hockey with my brothers. We used to get together occasionally to do that but I think the last time we were all in our 20's, so this should be something.

Playin' some hockey!! NICE!!! Wait a few days, you could probably play pond hockey!!

Oh, yeah, I know I'm going to get my ass handed to me. I can't play for shit and just about everyone else there can. It's really just for fun anyway. Were just setting up some empty nets in a warehouse and all. I know there will be a cooler at center line, but I'll be abstaining.

Wish I had friends like yours Trops! That sounds like a blast... minus the cooler though!! :D Go out and have FUN... that's all it's about. Damn, I'd love to kick my friends asses at a little hockey!!! What 'd you say about my sister... hip check.... I'm a bit of a softy.... shoulder to the sternum... LOL!! Damn that sounds fun!!! Have a great time.

Yeah, it's all very light contact. Each of us has you by at least 5 years. Except for my baby sister's boyfriend. He's a real hockey guy. Does the ice at 2 AM thing, but he says he hasn't been on rollerblades in the longest, so we'll have the advantage. I'm not buying that one for a second.

Years ago my brothers and I used to get together for light contact football pick up games. We're not into competing, but just having fun. Well we were playing against the local high school team, but didn't know it, and one guy just took out my youngest brother. Flipped him a few times. You don't do that to the crazed Irish brothers. Let's just say the high school had a very bad season that year. :sifone:

Boondock Saints style???? :D Yep, anyone still getting ice at 2am, is still in competetive hockey! Funny you say light contact... my dad plays plus 50 league... he's 58, anyways... he never broke a bone in his life(wish I could say the same), until he started playing "non-checking" OML!! His first season of over 50 league, he had a broken collar bone and lost two teeth!!!! FUNNY!! Those "old" guys are frickin' DIE HARD!!
