Trops Diary

It reminds me of something that we used to do as a kid. We called them tip-ups, but now they call them something else. I was showing my kids how to do them the other day. It's all balance and strength, but if you are not careful you end up falling on your nose. :ack2:

Tired! Sore!!!! :( Too much intermediate Yoga. Was doing some crazy ass arm balances yesterday, tried THIS for the first time: It's actually easier than it looks ;)

You HAVE to be gettin' some serious strength from doing these!!! I would break something for sure... starting with my pride!!! Right on my "eagle beak" I would land!! :D

I didn't get a workout in yesterday. I had it planned, but something came up and I had to cancel. My wife actually said that I should go to the gym instead of dinner, but since I was working the evening shift I hadn't had much time with the family so I stayed for dinner. I had made pasta and meatballs and it was just no good for me to dive in, so i just sat there while everyone else ate. "Dad, why aren't you eating?" Oh, I'm not hungry. Yeah, like that fooled anyone.

Today, my sister who moved to Canada is coming over for dinner, so I don't think I'm working out today, either. I have to get something in one of these days.

Tuck and roll! ;)

Word. :p

Does anyone else think that Trops is starting to sound like a teenage girl with this behavior? Sorry Trops, I know that it is the best method that works for you and we don't know what all else you ate yesterday. You certainly didn't have BEER for dinner ;)

Hey Trops, you are always choosing the "right" place to be!!! You know what is important, besides... you always find a way to make up any POSTPONED workouts!!! I don't think you could CANCEL a workout if you tried!

Teenage girl, huh? One thing that I really don't want is for my kids to have the same problems with food and weight that I've had. For them to think that skipping a meal is the way to deal with being a fat dad, well that doesn't help. For me, eating nothing and then having something else later is easier then eating a small portion and nothing later.

Oh, no. It was canceled completely. :sifone:

I thought Trops was like a teenage girl because he wears those plaid skirts.... just kidding buddy! :D

I hope you get a chance to get back in the work out flow! I know sometimes life can get in the way, just remember to keep healthy decisions at the front of your mind. :D

Like I said, it works for you. Your kids are super smart, they'll be fine. They might not exactly understand what you're going through but I'm sure they "get" that Dad's trying to be healthy and able to stick around for a long time!

Good one, Shaun. :sifone:

Nah, the thing is that this is a long term change. I'm not doing this to get to some goal by some date. This is me for the next 60 years of so, so one day here or there doesn't make a big difference. No reason to give up the things that matter for those that I'll be getting eventually.

That's true Trops. The only reason I say that is for me, once I start making bad decisions they seem to come easier. I kinda let it snowball on me sometimes. You're fortunate to not have that problem. :D

It was a problem of the past. Hopefully I got it licked now.

Good times with family and friends, now that is something that you never get back. You might get new chances, but the old opportunities are gone forever. Grab them while they are there.

Good to know you have it beat! I agree, there's nothing better than time spent with family and friends. My family and friends understand my new lifestyle and help in any way they can. Mind you, I'm no food-prude, I'd still chow down on a pigroast :D.

Hey Trops, I just signed up for another 10K for Thanksgiving Day. Now it's back to worrying and freaking out, and not drinking much and getting enough sleep! BORING!
