Day Shift
Wow! What an amazing weekend. Food wise I was pretty good on Saturday, just one corned beef sandwich, three stouts, some curly fries stolen from the kids plate, and maybe 6 scotches. Sunday was worse because they had me doing the cooking for the volunteer station. One for you and one for me.

I ate way too many burgers. Only one stout and no scotch. Good thing I wasn't working the beer tent.
I got in so late Saturday night I didn't get to bed till one. Then Sunday I had plans to go with my brother mountain biking. back story is my brother and I used to be very close. Just about as close as you can get. Then we had a falling out and it was really bad for about 5 years. The last year and a half it's gotten so much better to where we are making plans like this. We weren't even speaking three years ago. (Merry Christmas was returned with silence) This is the first time we've be able to both make a biking trip, so I was not going to miss it. I had to get up at 6 to get everything ready and make it to the trail early enough so that I could do the rest of the things that I needed to for the day. It was so worth it. I got a good ride in, and made some big strides to getting the relationship back to where it should be.
The Festival was amazing. The turn out wasn't as good as I had hoped, but the site was so much bigger then previous years. The bands, well I was floored by some of them. I'm so ready to kick up my music a notch, now. I'm not looking to put on a show, but damn, I'm inspired.
I got some real nice complements, too. One friend was there and he knew that I was losing weight and he said that I looked great. "Hey, man, not as gay thing, but you are looking hot." Hmm, thanks. Looking hot to a straight guy. That's saying something.

I bought a new kilt from a vendor on Saturday and wore it on Sunday. (I didn't want to change the kilt I was wearing on Saturday) Then the vendor saw me wearing his kilt on Sunday and asked to take my picture for his website. I guess he liked the way it looked. So, I think I must be looking ok, these days. Feels good to not be the short fat guy anymore.
