Trops Diary

Wow. Glad to hear you had an excellent weekend it sounds. That is great your re connecting with your brother. Those years you didn't talk must have been really hard. Good to hear it's on the mend.

ITA, you should go to work as a kilt model. I bet you wouldn't have to get out of bed for less than 10k a day, and you'd have all the major kilt designers flying you all over the world just to be in their shows :D

Day Shift

Wow, when I fall off I fall off. I have to get back on. This weekend wasn't bad, but it was far from good. Now I'm having trouble getting back into it as far as diet and working out. I think my problem is the kids are away this week. Camp at Grandpa's. This means that even though we're both working F and I are going out and having fun and everything. Last night we went to the cigar lounge and after I had a wonderful panini. Not crazy unhealthy but far from good for you. Oh, and before that I got a big fat free frozen yogurt. It didn't have any nutritional data, but I'm sure it was chock full of shit.

Today I was supposed to go biking with my friend after work. It's been raining on and off all day, so it looks like I'm not doing that. Not too big a deal since I'm supposed to pick up my suit from the tailor this afternoon. It'd be better to not have to shower before going.

Now my dad is getting into town tonight, so I'm probably doing something with him. Tomorrow I'm cooking for my wife's softball team, jambalaya. I made it mostly today and tomorrow I'll heat it up and put in the shrimp right before we eat. Friday is the rehearsal dinner, and Saturday the wedding.

The scale read 206 this morning. When it creeps up like that I know that it's not temporary. This is real weight going on. I gotta do something. Maybe I'll get to work early tomorrow and run. Depends on how late I stay up with Dad.

It happens to us all, and it seems lately its happening to us at the same time!

I just got "back on track" Monday, and I am literally counting each and everyday as a victory.(its only day 3 LOL) Take it hour by hour, minute by minute until you get back in the groove. ONce you get the exercise in and under your belt you will start to fill more confident that you can do this . . and you WILL!

Hey no worries! You'll get back on that horse in no time! It's hard to stay on track with Family around, but doable.

Enjoy the time with your Pops!

Thanks everyone for checking up on me. I'll get back with it, and soon.

(warning: the following is not diet friendly) The jambalaya came out really good. I did it a little differently. Instead of having it all mixed in with the rice I'm going to make some dirty rice tomorrow and have it scooped on top. So today I cut up 2 pounds each of onions, peppers, and celery (the holy trinity,) along with five garlic cloves. Cooked that up in the pot, but stirring so as to not steam it too much. Then added two small cans of diced tomatoes and 4 pints of homemade tomato sauce. I cubed 4 pounds of chicken thighs and sauteed them in small batches and added them. I got a pound and a half of chorizo that I cubed and tossed in. Spice wise I put in white pepper, salt, cayenne, and ground sage. It's spicy, but not very. That's all for now. I have about 2 gallons of that. Tomorrow I have three pounds of shrimp that I'll toss in, and of course the rice. That along with hot dogs, hamburgers, and a green salad should make a nice barbecue for after the game. I'll have a shaker of cajun spice and two kinds of hot sauce so people can add their own heat.

Hey, just wanted to say hi. Hope things are going well. Do not let yourself stay off for too long. I did for about three weeks. First maintaining, then gaining. Don't do it. I feel soooo incredibly much better with myself now that I am losing again.

I have always loved the way chorizo smells, but being raised vegetarian, it has that weird meat texture that I can't stand. But they now make "soyrizo" that is absolutely delicious! :p

Ugh, that sounds horrible. I'm willing to try anything, but being raised on a farm and eating fresh meat all the time... I love it. I gotta have a med-rare steak at least every other week.

Looks like we'll get rained out. Good thing is we'll still eat under a pavilion. Bad thing is the food will have to be ready at 5:30 instead of 7.

It's funny how what you grow up with shapes your food tastes so much. Soyrizo has nearly the same fat content so there's no use in even trying it if you like the real stuff!

Day Shift

Yesterday was good. I didn't exercise at all, but food wise I was pretty good. I went to the beach for salsa music and had a chicken sandwich and a beer. good times and only one beer. I got home and my dad pulled in the driveway ten seconds later. We hung out for a couple hours and he drank scotch, but I just had water. Good talking but everyone was tired so we called it a night.

Today I made a nice tofu and pepper stirfry over polenta. My friend, Ironman, is on with me today. He is trying to drop some weight, so I made enough for him. It came out really good and he said that he'll have to make it at home now. I don't think I'll be working out today, and tomorrow is not likely either. Oh, well. That's the way it is.

Start off next week with a bang.!!:jump: Don't let the scale creep up anymore! You have worked too hard to turn back!

Thanks, Christen. I'm not ignoring things. I'm watching what I eat for the most part, so if I slip here or there it isn't too bad. The scale read 204.4 this morning, so it is going back down. I just know that it doesn't really work long term if I'm not getting my exercise in, which I haven't been. Today is a wash and tomorrow will be, too, but hopefully Sunday I'll be able to get a bike ride in early.
