My race this morning went really well!
I finished in 36:08. I know, I know... that's way past what I was hoping for, but listen - the route was LONGER than 3.1 miles! My friend and I were both saying how it felt longer than a normal 5K, and sure enough, it was! We checked our Nike+ info, and BOTH of ours said the route was 3.4 miles! Then we started talking to others, and their Garmins all said the same thing, too! I know .3 of a mile doesn't seem like much extra to run, but that's a good 3 minutes extra on my time! Not that I mind running 3 extra minutes, I just with they would have told us it was longer than 5K! There was a lot of talk about how disorganized it was.
Anyway, I knew I was running faster than before (despite the tons of hills!), so I knew there was no way it took me 36:08 to finish 5K!
Guess what my pace was?!
10:38 a mile!!!!!
My normal is 11:30/12:00 a mile, so 10:38 is AWESOME for me!!!!! I couldn't have been happier with my run! Especially since there were some killer hills involved!!! My actual 5K time was 33 minutes, and the last 3:08 was the extra .3 miles, adding up to the 36:08.
I'm so proud of myself!!!!!
Here's some pictures of my run and afterwards... check them all out!!

Hey! Here's the race info from my diary. Thanks for asking!!![]()

I did something that I read on here which is after you are done running to stand on one foot. Pull your knee up to your chest, or close, and rotate the foot. Oh...My...God! My calf screamed at me when I did that.
If your calves hurt, stretch those first for a while and breathe real deep. And if you want to rotate the foot to take care of your ankles, and you want to sit down and do it, I guess the only thing I would advise is makes sure you walk it off (the run) before you plop down. I heard it's better to cool down then fall over after a hard workout! LOL!HI! I remember posting the ankle stretches/rotations because my own ankles NEED that, or they get fatigued and I could roll one (have before, it SUCKED). I never mentioned that you can sit down and do it, how stupid of me!If your calves hurt, stretch those first for a while and breathe real deep. Hope you get more time to work out!![]()
