Trops Diary

Thanks, brother, and no you don't suck as a friend. You've been keeping tabs elsewhere, so that's cool. Thanks for stopping by, though.

I weighed in at 204 even yesterday. I didn't get a chance to weigh in early this morning, so I'm not too sure what my morning weight was, but I'll be sure to weigh in tomorrow.

My original goal was 195. I'm thinking about dropping that to 185, but I'll see when I get there. I might want to maintain at 195 for a month or two and then drop. It's hard to think that way, though. Here I am with extra fat on my body and deciding to keep it there to help me in the long run. Seems a little backwards. Maybe I'll get some kind of accurate BF% at 195 to see where I am and where I should be.
...I love how we are NEVER satisfied with anything......NOT in a BAD way...just part of LIFE.....AMBITION....it's beautiful!!!:iagree:

See, that's where you have me wrong. Usually I'm very satisfied with things. I have little or no ambitions as far as my career. I had those opportunities earlier in life and chose a different way. My way is one of peace and love and enjoyment of the beauty that is this world.

Up, I almost started preaching. Can't do that, now, can we? :biggrinjester:

Nah, for this I think I was looking at things a bit skewed. I thought that given my BF% when I started out, and what my lean mass calculated to, 195 would put me at about 15%. Now either I lost a lot of lean mass or the original % was off. I'm not looking to look good. That will never happen. I just want to be healthy and live a long happy life.

I admire YOUR focus.....Keep IT UP....!!! ;)

Day 97

Evening Shift

Today was good for the diet. I didn't weigh myself this morning, but I'll make sure to do so tomorrow. Got the kids off to camp this morning after a breakfast of oatmeal and coffee. I did a bunch of yard work. Then I had to go to a wake for a friend. Very sad. Such a good guy and only 66. Way too young to die. His wife is a rock. I don't know how she can stay so composed. They both are/were beekeepers and she told us that it's a beekeeper tradition to "tell the bees" of the passing. I'm glad that I wasn't there for that one. Two other friends were there for her.

Lunch was PB&J sandwich and water. Then I ate another of the greek yogurt and PB&J like yesterday. Water, but other then that I think that's it. I stopped off at the farm stand and got some zucchini and string beans. I haven't eaten them, but I might. If I do, that will bring my total up to 1470 with 80g of protein. Doesn't sound right, but I'll go with it. Lots of PB today.

My wife got a ipod shuffle from something work related. She hasn't used it, so today I asked if I could have it. I've wanted one for a while, but didn't feel like shelling out the money if we have one on the shelf. She said no problem, so I loaded it with some songs today. Then, because I now have a shuffle, I had to try it out running. Good enough excuse. 5k in 27 min 52 sec. Nowhere near as good as I did two weeks ago, but I did it. I'm happy. I'll keep it up and I'll be back to that speed. HR was up to 183, and above 170 for most of the time, so that's good. 5 min rest and it was down to 136, not so good. I'd like to see that in the 120's. I did some stretching. I have to remind myself to do this every time after running. It'll be good. The shuffle worked great. I like it much better then my mini, mostly because I didn't have to hold it the whole time. I didn't know where to clip it, though, so I clipped it on the neck of my shirt under my chin. I thought it would bother me there, but surprisingly it didn't. The cord bouncing around did, but I'll figure that one out.

Thats funny cause I had the same problem. My Dad gave me a pocket PC so I use that to listen to music. Its slightly larger than an Ipod, the big one. So I got an arm band holder. Worked great but the cord annoyed me. So I rubberbanded the cord tight and it helped a lot.

So, I have decided that I may have to stop reading your journal. Everytime I come in here you make me want a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.

I love walking/jogging with my mp3 player. It keeps my mind occupied.

I love PB&J. I use the Trader Joe's all natural PB and the Trader Joe's reduced sugar preserves. So good. You have to refrigerate the PB or it's too liquidy, but it's so much better then the other stuff. I also love bread, but I try not to eat too much of it. Three slices of bread today is a lot for me. I usually try to get the PB&J without the bread, like in yogurt of cottage cheese.

I'll try to tempt you with something better tomorrow. :biggrinjester:

OMG!! I love that movie!! I mean... yes, yes that was a planned quotation of the movie...

David Bowie in spandex... ::shudders::

Trops - I love greek yougurt! I would never think to put pb and j in it...how does it taste? i can't get a sense of it...

Big fan of that movie. Not for the spandex, though. Ludo was my favorite. I do a good Ludo impersonation. "Smell bad!" Who else do you know can list that as a talent?

The texture is smooth, so you have to be ready for that, but I really love it. I like it better in the FF greek yogurt then the regular FF yogurt.

One cup of yogurt, two Tbl of all natural PB (TJ's) and two Tbl of reduced sugar preserves (TJ's). It comes out to be 390 cal, 17g of fat and 29g of protein. Not the best for fat, but it's the good fat. You can skip the PB and just use jelly or, of course, honey.

Day 98

Evening Shift

Damn, where's my motivation? Where's my determinations? I'm at work and I can take a break whenever I want and do a workout. I was thinking about jumping rope, but I really don't feel like it. I know I'll kick my ass and go do it, but I'd rather be psyched up for it. Hopefully writing this will help.

Today was pretty good. Cereal for breakfast, double serving size, and coffee. Lunch time came and my wife made some goat cheese and olives on a tortilla. Looked so good, but so high in fat and I'd like to eat two or three of them. I skipped and had another double bowl of cereal. Got to work and was starved, but I figured I'd have an early dinner. I made some yellow squash and green beans over polenta. I should have added some chicken stock to the polenta because it was kind of bland, but it was all together pretty good. Grand total for the plate was 305 calories (14g fat from the olive oil, ouch, and only 5g of protein) Without the olive oil it would be much better, I might do that later if I decide to go that way. For the day I got 85g of protein and 48 fiber. Not bad. Today's total calories is 1200. that might have something to do with my not wanting to jump rope.

Tomorrow I'm supposed to help with the set up for a huge Irish Music Festival. I'm friends with the promoter, and I think it will be cool to see the goings on from the start. Should be an active day. Should be a great weekend, with the festival, too.

So today I dropped off some stuff to Goodwill. Not my old clothes, did that a week ago, but some other stuff. Thought I'd check out the suits. I need a new one for my sister's wedding in ten days, and yes, that's some advanced planning for me, but I'm getting good like that. I found one really nice one. Med-light gray with light blue pin striping. The jacket fit me nice, but the pants were way too big. The suit cost just under $9, so how could a go wrong?

I take it to the tailor and go through all the places where alterations are needed. Damn! I thought I was getting a good deal, but with all the places it needs to be altered it's going to cost another $125. Still, not bad for a good suit. I just hope that it is nice enough to wear for the wedding. I get it back next Wednesday so if it isn't good I'll still have time to get a different one.

My family dropped off 10 bags of clothes and various other things to Goodwill this afternoon. Definitely showed me I'm a clothing addict and when I finally lose enough weight to get new clothes my bank account is in serious trouble!

Get motivated my friend! I'm not very motivated today either, I had a killer headache this afternoon. But if nothing else, I'm gonna go on a half an hour walk around our neighborhood. Any movement is good movement, right?

Tomorrow is another day with the kiddos, but we get pool time! Its fun pulling them around the pool. The little one likes to play crab with me. I really think she just likes to pinch me...

Hey there!

I hope the suit works out for you! :)

I haven't tried out the HR monitor, because I don't have it yet. I wanted the one with the pretty, cute face :)D), and those weren't in the store. We had to order it, and it should be here some time this week. I'n so excited to try it out!!!
