Trops Diary

my wife just made a turtle cheesecake on Christmas. it was so good. I only eat it a couple times a year but thoroughly enjoy it when i do.

OK, Day one of the six week challenge. Food is not an issue at this point. I'll have to do something good for dinner tonight. Still figuring it out, but point wise during the week should not be a problem. Weekends I have a lot going on, so we'll see. My food plan is pretty simple, though. Basically don't eat crap and get good food every day. Follow that and I'm good for the 120 points a week. Problem days will be this Saturday, dinner at Mom's with all the siblings, Next Saturday, birthday party for a friend, and Super bowl weekend. Exercise shouldn't be a problem at all if I keep up with my running, which is the plan.

Food yesterday was right on. I ended up going out to dinner with my Dad, but I stayed real good. I know I would have gone off had it not been for the 6 week challenge. Here's to accountability. :beerchug:

I only drank diet soda, even though there was a bottle of wine and quite a few beers going around. My sister ordered a spinach dip app for the table, and I didn't have a taste. Dinner was chicken mashed potatoes and asparagus. The taters weren't the healthiest, but considering the rest of the day was just two bowls of cereal, I'm saying it was a good day over all.

Dad is headding back to North Carolina, so much less temptation now.

I forgot to mention the workout today. I had a break at work where instead of sitting and drinking coffee I went to the stairway and just walked up and down about 50 times or so. It's a big stair way, just about 13 feet from bottom to top, so I think that's just over a standard floor. Also, there are only 15 steps, so each one is higher then normal.

I did that for 15 min, then I grabbed two sand bags (50 pounds each) and walked with them. I'd put one down, walk 25 paces, put the other one down, pick it up, walk back, change bags, do it again, pick up both, put one down. You get the picture. Damn, that was a good one. After 12 minutes of that I was shot. :ack2: I still had 3 minutes to make it a full 30 minutes, so I did 10 more flights of stairs.

Good workout, but I'm going to try to get to the gym tonight anyway. :smash:

Great job with the stairs. Stairs and I are mortal enemies. Glad that you are doing well with eating, GO TEAM ONE!!!

Right now I'm waiting for my daughter to finish her homework and then it's off to the gym. :smash:

Trops, what's the deal with this Team 1 and Team 2 thing? Did I miss something? What's the challenge?

I must have been in la-la land. Maybe I don't qualify  :leaving:

It's in the club competition section. Lots of fun, but it started yesterday. Team 1 could certainly use a cheering section, though. :hurray:

team 1 is going to need all the cheering they can get :) Team 2 is gonna kick ass :smash:

well done with ya sandbags trops :)

Great job with the inpromptu workout. stairs and I have a love/hate....well actually a hate/hate relationship, so bravo for running stairs for that long without tripping and smashing your shins. god knows I couldn't have done it. ;)
ILM, please do stop by and chear on team 2. no need to pick sides, I'm sure Karl would love to hear from you over there too. :D

and on that note, I'm off to go get in some more exercise. gotta be in top shape if I'm going to compete against a man that uses 50lbs sandbags for workout equipment.
