Travis's Weight Loss Diary

The run yesterday was really good. I am offically stopping one time now. When I started I had to stop like every few blocks but now I stop just after the short hill after the bridge on my current route. I think in another week I might be able to do the whole thing. When I am able to do that comfortably I will start looking at ways I can lengthen it.

I had a pretty good dinner i think on a normal day it would have been too much but today early on I was so light on the cals that I needed something to really balance me out. I think though I might regret that I dunno. I weighed myself just to check this moreing and i as at 296.7 and I think I am actualy down more than that. I felt really sluggish this morning. Probably from the larger dinner.

Tonight after the run I will have a nice lean dinner. Chicken and salad sounds good. Hopefully I won't feel hungry late. I doubt it it really ahsnt been a issue lately.

Lately I am feeling a bit grumpy about the weight. Everyone says i am doing well and I know I have dropped a decent amount of weight but dammit if it doesnt feel like its going fast enough. I want so badly to be skinny. I want to be able to trash all my fat guy cloths and do a whole new me. I just gotta keep telling myself that its not an overnight thing, this is going to take time.

Anyway it is gloomy again here however it looks like the rain is holding. I just need it to hold a little longer so I can get my run in. Crossing my fingers!!!

Must get to the store today too I am out of granola and running low on some fruits and veggies. Today with no granola I ahd a grapfruit and a Orange for breakfest. Turkey ham sandwich for lunch. Sitting at some low cals again I hink but I should be ok. I don't feel hungry which is good.

Ok enough for now back to the daily grind!

Great job! I can't run, I have arthritis, but I walk a lot... tomorrow I am bike riding, or cycling ... for an hour to two ... and I need to study ..

but I just want to remind you ..the weight is not going to come off fast ..most of us lose between one to two pounds a week ..which amount to about four to six pounds a month. Once your body adjusts you will reach a plateau ..you will reach them through out your weight loss ..even when you reach those ..keep coming here... because it is very important to check in ..sometimes it is exactly what keeps you going ...it has been my reason ..this forum ... I gained eight pounds back when I disappeared for a month or two and came back last month ..have since lost said eight pounds. ..and plan to keep going ..

don't get discouraged the pounds aren't coming off the way you want them to ...just have your trash barrel ready when you get to trash your old icky clothes and move to a new size ..but don't be so fast to lose it ..because a VERY slow weight loss is a VERY good weight loss ..the faster you lose it the more likely it will come back and bite you ...

I wanna be skinny too :( I have the sneaking suspicion that I'll be pretty hot if that ever happens, lol... We're workin on it... it IS hard, but your doing so good it makes me jealous!

As for Nip/Tuck- I have all the seasons to, lol. Can't get enuf of it! And WAY to many favorites to pick just one. Only a few more weeks, yay!!!!

Annnyways, congrats on only stopping once- I don't know if I've ever asked, but how long are your runs? Keep up the great work :) Talk to ya later!

wow hectic day yesterday I was unable to post. It has been a crazy week the weather has really prevented me from going on my runs as much as I would like. I mean just now at lunch there was a massive hail storm.

I need to run today come on weather work with me here! I missed my weigh in this mornignso I am going to do it tomorrow and report it here. I think I didnt get to my goal but its ok Ill get there shortly. This was a bad week but next week is a new one and I'll be sure to stick it out and get better next week.

Short post for now I am so swamped at work. Ill get some more stuff in here tonight and tomrorow when I have a moment to sit down!
 
another weekend is in the books. I drank pretty heavily on Friday... ugh oh well. Funny thing was I was so hung over the next morning but I made myself go run right when I got up. My roommate thought I was nuts.

On a cool note some people I haven't seen in a while hung out with me on Friday and a few of them mentioned that I looked different, better fitter and such. They could notice a difference and that made me feel pretty good. Still a looooooong way to go but its nice to have people notice cause lord knows I sure don't notice.

The weekend meals could have been better they weren't terrible but really could have been better. It happens.

Today though started off again on a new foot. Got a nice smoothie for breakfast and a turkey ham sandwich for lunch. I think I am going to make some turkey and a salad for dinner after my run. Should be good all around.

I didn't get my goal last week had a few slip ups. It happens but oh well. I will make it this week I am determined to. I am hovering right around 297.5-298 so the same goal is going to be issued for this week Break 295. I will get it this time!
 
I normally would wait till tomorrow to post this but im pretty fired up. Today was the first day I was able to do my run completly without stopping! It is such a great feeling!!! WOOHOO!
 
Great job for running the whole time!! and having people notice that you are looking better! That is always exciting! My hubby noticed (or so he said later) that I have lost some weight. I haven't had anyone else say anything, but I was this size last year... so it may take another 10lb before I start getting noticed.

As for the weekend... I think the majority of us have problems in that department. I figure as long as they are not as bad as they were before I started loosing then I am a step ahead. I think they will eventually get better and better, but its just hard to give up everything in the beginning without having some time to just eat (and/or drink) high calorie/fat foods.

Keep up the good work! I have faith that you will meet your goal this week :D.
 
Thanks Tiffany! Yeah I am not going to worry about the weekend it wasn't awful but of course it could have been much better. Oh well.

And yes the run thing is so great. I am shooting to do it again today. If I can get a whole week of running the whole thing I am going to try to lengthen my run. I need to do that at some point so if I am comfortable running the whole thing then it might be time.

Today food wise was ok, only had an apple and cranberry juice for breakfast cause I was scrambling to get to work, I may have slept in a bit lol. But at lunch I went to this sandwich shop with a co-worker and got a roast beef sandwich, I did have a diet cola argh I didn't really want it but they really didn't have anything else. Oh well. Tonight for dinner I am going to have a turkey breast and some veggies. Chug some more water and hopefully see good news on the scale. I saw some good news this morning I weighed in at 295.5 so that is good I am very close to my goal on the second day of the week! So maybe with the right motivation I can get even further.

The great thing about not seeing everyone you know alllll the time is they do tend to notice more than the ones that see you everyday. I have a friend that lost a bunch of weight, but I never really noticed until we were going thru pictures, and I was like, WHAT?? When did this happen?? lol.
Oh, and I agree with your roommate- you ARE nuts for running the day after drinking!! hahaha. Oh well, to each his own... Wish I had that ambition tho :rolleyes: K, I'm outta here, I leave today for Missouri, so when I come back, kick my butt, ok? I'm pretty much hating myself right now, so MAKE me do it lol. I need someone to!
 
booo for the rain today. I may run anyway just cause I want to but god its times like this that I wish I lived in a better climate.

Oh well, yesterday food wise was good and my run was great up until I got a massive cramp and had to stop. I hate these side cramps. They have been happening less and less however every so often I get hit with a bad one and have to take a few moments to let it subside. I think once I get in better shape lower weight that they will happen less and less.

Anyway crossing my fingers for no rain or at least a stoppage.

Today was standard diet a grapefruit and smoothie for breakfast right around 250 cals and lunch was a turkey and ham sandwich for 450 cals. Lots of water and then for dinner I am planning on Beef Pho which I haven't found the cals on that yet but I imagine its around 500-600. Perhaps more and if it is that's ok too cause I am kinda low going into dinner it seems on normal days.

Jess: Have a great time on your trip and don't worry when your back Ill help cheer you on a whip you into shape! It will be great just think bout next summer when the both of us are all super hot and stuff. Can't wait!

Tiffany: Thanks for the encouragement I really was proud of that run I hope I can start to do it regularly. And yeah it is so great when people start to notice a change. I have several pictures of me at my fattest (320) I am thinking when I get to oh 270 I am going to take another photo to see if I can notice a change
 
Hey Travis! Thanks so much for stopping in and leaving a nice little note in my diary. It made my day!

Gahhh... I hate side cramps.. This sounds crazy and very nerdy of me but I remember an exercise phisiology report I did in the 7th grade (told you I was a nerd!).. and it was about cramping. It said lots of cramps come from the diaphram contracting (but that could be very wrong).. So potassium - as i'm sure you know - is very good as is breathing at a good pace in through your nose and out through your mouth.. I'm sure that's no news to you though. Cramps always come at the worst times though...

Glad I can talk with someone else who enjoys running too - Do you listen to music when you run? I seriously can't go without my ipod it is pathetic. It sounds like you get an A+ (if we're still going with the nerdy thing) with being very knowledgable about your diet.

It rained here today too - blah.. Hopefully tomorrow it won't rain in either of our places...Have a good night~

So I met my goal of being under 295! That's a good thing. I had slowed up a bit if you look at my progression there so it was nice to see another 4 pound drop.

Yesterday I did really well in all aspects of the diet. Lots of water and ate really well. I am totally on this smoothie kick for breakfast. I have a piece of fruit then swing by the smoothie shop and get a "energizer" which I found has 330 cals. So it right around what I should be having for breakfast anyway. Its basically a strawberry banana smoothie with some vitamins and such in it. Plus im in love with the girl who makes them in the mornings! If I was only skinny and hot...... oh well soon I hope

Then at lunch I went to a sandwich shop with a co-worker and got a turkey ham sandwich. I think they put way to much mayo on it I had to scrap it off, I don't mind mayo but really like to use light mayo and not a lot of it. Anyway the sandwich was really good.

After that I worked the rest of the day. Once I got home I went on my run. It was weird I felt tired the whole time. I had to stop due to cramps again but the last little bit I tried to pick my pace up and run quicker. It felt good to open it up a bit.

When I got home I got cleaned up and started to make dinner. I ate earlier than normal because I Had a basketball game as well last night. Dinner was Turkey breast and a Large spinach salad. Spinach salads are so filling they really are a hearty leaf. I felt full and taht was good.

Then I went to my basketball game. I am noticing a big different in my weight there. Before I felt Sluggish and was out of breath a lot. But recently I am feeling myself regain some of the quickness I Had prior to becoming a fatty. My endurance is waaaaay up and I played over 3 quarters. We needed up winning 43-42 on a last second shot. I must get back to working on my post game I am much stronger than most of the people who cover me but I am having trouble finishing my shots so I need to get back out there and work.

Overall I am pretty happy, I think that this time next week it would be really nice to say goodbye to the 290's and start the next tier.

I mentioned this before but I have some pics of me as the 320 fat fat fatty so I think went I break past the 280's, into the 270's I will do a before and in progress pic. 40 lbs should be rather noticeable.

Hope all is well with everyone. I am off to Ellensburg this weekend to see a comedy show and head out to my old bars. Coming back Saturday and I hope to run on both Saturday and Sunday. I think its safe to assume that Friday is out for a run since I have to be on the road to Ellensburg by 4:00pm.

YAY for being under 295! That is truly great. I'm so impressed with how quickly you have lost this weight.

Also congrats on winning your bball game! I played for 7 years - and am still in love with the game. Glad to see you enjoy it too.

I personally always wanted to play baseball, but never got the chance.. Arthritis kicked my butt at 12 to 17 ..it stank ...but now I am losing some of the weight I gained and I hope to lose more ..

Happy Monday everyone. Well as happy as one can be, I hate Monday's.

Oh well the trip was really fun, went to see Jim Gaffigan who was hilarious, then my friends and I met up with my old roommate from college. we drank a bit at this house party which he failed to mention was a toga party. Then we went to the bars. I probably drank to much but surprisingly had no hangover for the drive home the next morning. Food wise was not good but I did manage to get a run in to help balance the badness.

On Saturday I spent the day cleaning and recovering. I had a date with this gal at 8pm that I truly didn't want to go on. But I didn't have a valid way to cancel it and I am not they type of guy who would stand someone up so I made myself go. I got to the bar we were suppose to meet at and waited. And waited. and waited some more. After 45 mins I was ready to leave. How lame huh here I am trying to be nice in not standing this girl up and I get stood up in return. I hate dating. In fact im probably done with it for a while even though I don't date much anyway ha-ha.

If there was any good thing that came outta that it was that the waitress was such a sweetie, she was so concerned that I was going to be upset (I was more relieved cause I didn't want to go out with her in the first place however that my just be me being bitter) that she sat and chatted with me for a while bought me two drinks. Just a real nice girl, I should have gotten her name, argh theres the zero confidence kicking in. Perhaps when I get to my goal weight and feel better about me I will gain some of that confidence. Here's hoping.

Anyway so that was Saturday. Sunday I did nothing but watch movies and football. Lame I know but I just wasn't in the mood for anything.

Ok so enough gloomy stuff. This week is a big week and could prove to have me cross another milestone. My goal is to cross the 290 barrier. Last Friday had me at 292 and I am sure after some bad booze and food over the weekend I am up from taht at the moment but I think with some hard work I can break taht barrier by this Friday. breaking that would also mean 30 pounds lost total which in itself is a great milestone. So there we goal!

Run tonight with a nice turkey breast and veggies for dinner. Hope all is well with everyone!
 
Hey buddy! First of all - do not give up on dating! That girl was a bi-atch for not even having the decency to call. I mean you were actually doing the nice thing - and going -even though you really didn't want to. Karma will get her (that makes me mad! lol). I hate it when people do stupid things like that. And next time - you will be even thinner - and you WILL and SHOULD have the confidence to talk to the waitress...

As for your goals this week - I so think you can do it! Under 290= great goal and very achievable. Then you will have lost 30 pounds! Yay!

Also- what a BITCH. Oh, that pisses me off. I agree with catie that she shoulda found a way to let you know she couldn't or wouldn't show. But the cute waitress part is awesome :) And for the record: The one half-pic you posted a while back- your a damn good looking guy already. Up the confidence a little... You'll probably get more phone numbers than you know what to do with :D But yes, by next summer, we're all gonna be hot-ER, and we won't even hafta try... Ah... what a thought, lol.

A good run last night, I am getting closer and closer to the point where I feel I should consider making the run longer. I think another week of running non-stop and I'll add to my current distance.

Anyway dinner last night was good except for the piece of garlic bread argh soooooo tasty but so bad for me. Oh well I will work that off today. I was a little up from Friday taht was to be expected over the weekend but its nothing I cant get back down by Friday. I am going a bit light on food today. Had a smoothie and a grapefruit for breakfast, a chicken sub for lunch 6" of course. And tonight I intend to go with a turkey breast and some broccoli with spinach salad.

Thanks for the encouragement Catie and Jess, that does mean a lot. It sucks to try to put yourself out there and it doesn't go well. But I wont let it get me down. I'll try again soon cause im good people lol.

Anyway very excited tonight for Beauty and the geek, I know I know, but that show is so fun lol. But also and Jess I bet your with me on this we have the season premiere of Nip/Tuck! Woot I hope its better than last year, but that show rules!

Awesome news on the running - that is so great. I really think running is a great way to see your progress. I know for me when the numbers aren't flying off the scales and I see an improvement w/ exercise I'm like yeah... I am making progress.. But your numbers ARE flying off the scales as you are also making excellent cardio progress. You should be proud!

Keep up your good work. What's your goal for the end of the year?
