Tony's Log

Mar 19 Workout A 1

60 second rest

Superset

Front Squat
1@65, 95
1x3@135
1x9@115
2x12@115
Wide Grip Seated Row
1@25, 42.5
1x12@65
1x12@72.5
1x12@80

Front squats are a completely different level. I actually had to do six, take a break and finish the last six on the final set. Its not that the squat is tough, but the wrist position is a killer.

Superset

Supine Hip Extension w/Leg Curl
3x12@25
BB Push Press
1x12@65
2x12@85

Superset

Dynamic Lunge
1x12@BB
2x12@65
Upper Body Russian Twist
3x12

Felt good to get back into the gym. Cant wait for workout B on Wednesday.

Hi Tony,
Just wanted to welcome you to your journal :) It's nice having more people around who know all that gym notation stuff ;)

Hi Tony! Nice to see you have a journal here! Today is the first I've seen it, since you started when I was on vacation and I've been going crazy with school work etc since I got back.

Hope to see ya around more.

Hey, Tony. I have a lot of trouble with front squats, too. But for me it's the left hip flexor, which somehow goes haywire on a front squat, but is just fine on a back squat.

I re-read how to perform and realized that I was holding the weight in my hands. I now have adjusted and barely touch the bar with my fingers. MUCH easier.

Its been awhile since I updated this but I was 8 workouts into Fat Loss II and then on Tuesday night I carried a washer & dryer upstairs to the curb for disposal. I woke up Wednesday and couldnt turn my head to the right.

I went to the chiropractor and he made some adjustments. I can now turn my head to the right, but cant lean it to that side. I feel pain and discomfort in my right rear shoulder blade area. After this heals Im moving onto NROL Strength I program.

As some may have noticed I have launched my own website. Im getting started in the whole online training biz and was offering free training for two people. I actually ended up extending to four, two being rugby players in the UK. I believe all four will far surpass mine and their own expectations so keep an eye out for their testimonials that will be posted to my site in a month.

Happy Training!

Good to see you back again. Sorry you wrenched your shoulder, though. And good luck with your online training program. It'll be interesting to see the results.

Well yesterday was a great day for lifting. As Ive mentioned Im doing Strength I from New Rules of Lifting. It was the second C workout, deadlifting. My previous best was in January at 245lbs. In workout 1 I pulled 245 easily on the fourth set (6,1,6,1,12,20) so I wanted to get 275 this time.

I did my first set of 6@205, then 1@275, 6@225, 1@295. I was happy as could be and will attempt 305 next time on the first single.

Well last night I learned the Triangle choke in BJJ. Was really fun followed by a Muay Thai session. Today was another MT session.

On a positive note I got hired at the USPS so my work schedule should revert back to dayshift. This works good during the summer because I will now switch to two days of BJJ and one day of MT.

Oh my goodness...San Juan. That sounds so nice, I'm sure it was gorgeous! You didn't just use spf 6 I hope...your lifting sessions sound terrifying and I watched a show on Muay Thai fighting once, I think it was MTV though  From what I saw, it is brutal and scary. I was in Tae Kwon Do for a while but I'd just run to the corners whenever I had to spar, it was pathetic. I hope you're not too disappointed to be back from your short vacation :)

I will always initially use SPF 30 from now on. I was like a lobster and in pain. However now I have a nice mix of tan and peeling skin.

My lifting sessions are fun, but leg days are serious, thats for sure.
