Tony's Log

Well Ive decided to take the plunge and start a journal of my own here. This is in addition to the three I keep elsewhere :) Its all vbulletin so its a cut and paste.

Im currently following the New Rules of Lifting book's Fat Loss I program. I have four more workouts in this phase, and am unsure which program I want to start next. If you want to see my progress, you can

There is also a body transformation contest starting March 10th that I may enter for fun. If anyone is interested, here is the

Im not gonna post my workouts until after FL I and I begin a second phase.

Goals: To be around 10-11% bodyfat
Height: 6'
Weight: 193
Bodyfat: 15

I was at lower bodyfat levels until a mediocre bulk attempt left me with extra weight and extra fat :D

Well here goes nothing. Hope you enjoy.

Today was Workout A #5. It feels good to be in the 10 rep range now after working in the 15 and 12 for awhile.

Since I am going home to visit my family next Saturday, my schedule works out perfectly. I will finish Fat Loss I on Thursday. Transition into a week off and come back from home feeling fresh and well rested.

Still undecided about which program to start next however. If you have taken the time to check out my journal at the other site, you will see I usually post an article that is worth reading. Here is one from the past but it is very good.

Article of the Day ~
One of the better articles Ive read in awhile. Though the article is geared to distance runners, it applies to anyone who is doing aerobic training for prolonged periods.

Wow! What a fantastic article!

It's amazing how many people still think you should do either aerobic workouts or weight training, but not both.

And amazing how many personal trainers don't bother teaching people about free weights.

Tried to give you a rep for that, but have to spread the reps around some more first.

True. Ya the repping system needs to be reduced. Glad you enjoyed it. I emailed Eric Cressey after I read that and told him its one of the best articles Ive read in a while.

nice to see you jumping into the diary pool :)

I just started reading that book today -it's interesting reading...

Ya its a great book and easy to understand. It puts the ideology of strength training into its simplest form. Im sure you'll enjoy the rest as well.

so glad to see you here! :)

Thank you.

Well I just finished workout B 5 today. It really kicked my ass with the 45 second rest periods. I thought I was looking forward to the 10 rep range, however with shorter rests, it cancelled out my feeling of happiness.

All in all it was a great workout. Two workouts left on Wed and Thurs and then its time off.

On a side note, Im in the process of buying a car. Im looking at two: a 1996 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer edition and a 2001 Cadillac Deville DHS. Need to decide quickly because Im leaving for a week. Stay tuned.

both cars have pretty decent reputations... im sure you'll enjoy either...

Ya the main difference is that the Ford has 75K on the odometer, whereas the Caddy has 98K. But the Caddy comes with 20's and its a Cadillac. :) I was close to buying a Nissan Sentra SER Spec V this past Saturday, but opted out because I want a big cruiser.

hey! i'm looking into buying a new car too! :)

What are you looking at?

I was pretty much a lifelong hater of Fords (Found on Road Dead, Fix Or Repair Daily) but the explorer is the exception to that... My mom had a Caddy years ago that went to well over 300K miles - the thing wouldn't die...

eeenie meeenie miney moe..

either that or use the girl method of picking a car -which is the cooler color :D

haha! my dad bought my mom a sports car for her birthday but she made him take it back because it was green..
but the colour is soo important :D
my friend had alittle red car with black spots painted on it like a ladybird

Ok then which do you look cooler driving? photographic evidence might be necessary? or more importantly -which has the better sound system?

Lol. Im leaning more towards the Caddy, but the wife loves Explorers. She has an 04 XLT that she wouldnt trade for the world.

We got neither and are still looking. :)

Well I just returned from home yesterday after traveling through the terrible snow on I-80 in Pennsylvania. I weighed myself this morning and I've gained four pounds, nice!! I was gonna begin Fat Loss II today, but found out my gym was closed because of Spring Break last week. Im not sure if Ill start tomorrow since my son is sick and apparently so is his cousin who my mother in law watches as well. I may begin on Wednesday, but we'll see.

Im keeping my same four day a week schedule, W, Th, Sa, Su. FL II is two workouts, 6x each, just like before. Goal is still body fat reduction through summer. Then it will be a bulk from around Aug-Sep until next March most likely.
