Tomble Rides Again!

Thanks! I keep feeling like I am more flexible, I think it's because I don't have a big fat gut in the way of things when I bend forwards. I used to find it a bit hard to breath if I tied my shoes while sitting in a chair, now it all seems easy!
It is wonderful having easy things actually go back to being easy, isn't it? :D

WOOHOO!!! This morning I weighed in at 102.2 kg! Last year, when I lost weight (and before I put it back on) I weighed 102.5 at my lowest, and that was only briefly.

Now I'm below that weight! 100kg, here I come! I haven't been this light in a few years, at least!
Woo hoo! You lose so fast!! Of course, daily 1000 calorie walks would have to make a big difference. :D

I'm really pleased for you. How wonderful to be able to count the days to your goal!! You had externals in the way last time you got this far, that are not here now. I know you will just power on down. :)

Thanks, Felici! It sure is wonderful, and I feel like it's going to keep getting even better! The long walks really are good, and also I am on my feet most of the day due to my work so I burn a lot of calories.

Last time I was defeated by work pressure and being a bit down, but I think that I came away from that having learned enough to stop it happening again.

Oh yes, I am 101.8 kg today! Getting close to that 100kg mark, which is not just a round number but a long term psychological barrier!

Well, not much news from me of late, I have been busy.

What some might call a plateau, I am calling a calorie induced pause in weight loss. :) Last weekend I had my regular `cheat meal' (mmm!), followed by my dad's birthday party, followed by a barbecue, followed by dinner with friends.

This weekend I went for a decent (5 hours) walk, ate a large meal, was doing fine on Sunday until my friend took me out for lunch, then I had friends over for dinner.

Consequently I have slipped over the line! The line is the progress line in my chart, and if I stay at or below it, I get to my goal in time. I am about 2kg above it, and the chance of catching up again is slim (and frankly, requires too rapid a weight loss to be good for me). So, I'll just keep going as I should be and restraining myself. My goal date for being at a good weight is October 14 (from memory) but I will be happy to be at my goal by the end of the year. I'm not slackening off though, I WANT to be at my goal weight tomorrow :) Or maybe yesterday!

Have barely had any time to check out the site or do any posting, work has been super busy. Plus, I'm also trying to spend more time away from the computer. I find that if I switch it off and go away from it, I get a LOT more done and stay active. The kitchen is clean, the door that was sticking has been repaired, my sock drawer is organised and so on, I feel like I have a lot more energy!

I have also been walking a lot, bought new shoes a couple of weeks ago. They fit really well, and I suspect I have been buying shoes that are just a little too tight, which seems odd to me because I am pretty aware of caring for my feet. Anyway, I walked 75 k last week (46miles) in total. Getting out for an hour and a half each night, or walking to work and back, or sometimes both (if I have the time). The weather is warming up in the Southern Hemisphere, and the smell of spring makes me crave the outdoors. Perhaps this year will be the one in which I can go to the beach and unselfconsciously splash around. No, not perhaps, DEFINITELY!!! :)

Wow, I am back on track again after a couple of bad weekends, and I am now 101.3 kg (222 lb). This is the lightest I have been in years, and I have lost 18.2kg (40 lb) since the end of May! Woohoo!

I am so close to that 100kg point, arghhh! One morning, and not too far from now, I will step on the scales and see only two digits. 11.3 kg to go!

I have been doing lots of walking, I've been very busy at work, and I've also been turning my computer off at night and banning myself from it, so that I get busy around the house instead of slacking off in front of a screen. All that moving helps burn calories :)

Whether your progress fits on the chart you made or not, your loss has been amazingly fast. You could make quite a sensibly constructed graph with an x axis of 1 or 2 years and your loss so far would look pretty much vertical I reckon. What you've done is phenomenal.

How great that you are so close to that magic number and have made such a lot of progress towards your long term goal. :)

Thanks, Felici! I guess part of it has been that I learned from my earlier experience. As bad as it was to put that weight back on so quickly earlier in the year, I feel like it taught me a valuable lesson about the sort of mindset that would lead me to failure. I felt a hint of that mindset coming back to me last week when I had eaten too much over a weekend (the snack monster awakes!) but I was able to control it, knowing that I had walked down that path already and what lay at the end.

I didn't like going over that line, but I expected that it would happen as I got further along. What matters is not seeing my weight line go up for any length of time :)

Howdy snack monster,
Lol ty you for stopping by,you always put a smile on my face!
Your doing great 60%done that is great work.Hope you enjoy the weekend Tammy

Still kind of sitting at a plateau, but a plateau of my own devising. Stupid eating-too-much :) I have no real problem with proper eating during the week when I have routine, just the weekends tend to get me. I compensate for a bit of slackness in my diet by going for super long walks, it seems to help, and my dog isn't complaining.

A couple of years ago I bought some shirts, without trying them on. Clothing sizes shift around a bit, but I figured that since most of my shirts were XL or XXL, then more XXL should be find. In fact, I think they were mislabelled, because they never came close to fitting, in fact I couldn't get the buttons and buttonholes lined up.

But now... they fit! So my wearable wardrobe expands at no cost. I wore a pair of pants the other week that I have had for a while, and I had to take the label off them, they fit! Woo!

Thanks Tammy! HAd a good weekend, no real exercise other than spending most of saturday building then painting a front fence. Fun! You're still doing well, keep going!

Howdy Tomble,
Wow your doing good,I have came across some cuite shirts and a skirt all size 10's-12's I am so close to wearing them.Congrats on all your hard work and what a nice feeling of gettinmgthinner and healthier.
Ty for stopiing by my diary always a pleasure to see you.:hug2:
I hope you have a nice day Tammy

Join the club I did that a few times - I'd lose weight slowly and painfully and put it all back on very fast (which is one of the things that led me to reach a BMI over 25). As you said you kind of live and learn!

Congrats on fitting in new clothes - I love the sensation of my clothes getting more lose too. It makes me feel like I'm achieving something and in a way speaks more than the number on the scale - maybe you feel the same too. You're 1/2 way through anyway well done :D :D (and you count in kgs too - woohoo).

Heya Tammy! Size 10-12! that's great! You're doing so well! One day soon you are going to put them on and then think `wait, these are a little bit loose'. Thanks for stopping by in my diary, I have been a bit slack on the boards of late, very busy at work and trying to use the computer less at home - I find if I turn it off I get a lot more done!

Hiya Lula, thanks for stopping by! It's infuriatingly easy to put the weight back on... It's like getting extremely drunk, you enjoy it while it's going on (mmm, food) but when you're finished, you feel like crap.

The loose clothes thing is always wonderful, and I do have clothes which I have never been able to wear but now fit! Plus, my old faithful belt is just starting to feel loose on the smallest hole - a hole which I had never used before August! Woohoo! Soon I will be making new holes, and I might even have to cut off part of the belt because it is starting to look weird being that long.

Oh yes, and YAY METRIC :)

Dropping sizes is a blast!! It's very nice now to notice clothes I like without adding a "not for you" or "will look completely different in a size 20" type rider every single time!! :D How fun that you have found some free new clothes to your taste!!

Oh yes! What I like is that some pants I dug out of my cupboard that were just right are now quite a bit too big for me! The ones I had which were before that are now huuuuuuge! I'm getting close to the point where I don't have to spend ages in a shop looking for something that fits me and that I like, rather than just going `well, unlike everything else, these fit, so I guess I will buy them'.

Hee hee, I just bought a new pair of pants...

Back in late May, I had to go to the workwear place and buy some pants. I ended up buying the largest size they had, 117cm, and they were comfy but not exactly loose. That was one thing that sparked me to get back on track.

Today, I bought another pair from the same store, the same brand as well. 102cm, and they fit very nicely. That's 15cm difference !!! 6" or so! Not counting the fact that when I bought the old pair I wore them low slung, and these ones fit about half way between my belly button and the line of my pelvic bones (which I can feel now!).

Thinking about uploading some `then and now' pics soon.

Hey there thats the way to get things done maybe I should try that but then again I will find myself either lost in laundry or dishes or something else that can wait..:) haha hope you have a nice weekend and continue on your road to success!Tammy

WOOHOO! This morning I stepped on the scales - 100.0 kg (220lb) exactly! Yayyy! 66% done, and feeling great! Went for a 6 hour walk on Sunday, it was very nice!
