Woohoo! 113.2 kg this morning! I walked fast for 10 km last night. It was 5 degrees C outside so if I slowed down I started to get cold.

Thanks! You'd freeze down here right now, particularly in Melbourne. There was ice all over my car this morning, which is not too common. Brisbane is very nice this time of year though!

Yeah, the food. Funnily enough when I was there for two weeks a number of years back I ate sooo much, then when I got home I discovered I had lost weight!

Do you like Durian? I have to admit that I really like it :)

Lots of walking in the last week, finishing with a 3 hour walk today. According to my GPS that was around 1500 calories! Tomorrow is measuring day, I wonder how I am going?

hi there,
seems like youre doing great with the walking and such.. grats on the weight you have lost so far... its a good idea you have about taking weekly photos. i have a digi camera so will have to try the same thing.. good luck with the weight loss.. im sure you will make it:)

A milestone!

I gained a belt hole today, I moved from 4 spare holes to 5 spare holes! How wonderful, and I realised that the pants I bought which were a little tight around my waist now fit over my stomach! Yay!

Hiya!

The best way to take the photos is to find somewhere in your house where you can get the exact same shot every time. I position my camera on a window sill in the bathroom, and stand on the same tiles each week. This way the shots are close enough that I can scroll through them and get almost an animation of the changes that are taking place! It's pretty cool to see my stomach getting flatter and my backside shrinking :)

It was a good morning today, I got on the scales to find ... 112.8 kg! 248 lb! YAY! Still a long way to go but getting there!

Well I don't know how I missed your diary these last days but though it seems fast and slow to you, your weight loss seems almost instant to me! You are doing soooo well.

I love your idea with the photos too! Even though I can't emulate it myself, I'm really looking forward to seeing your results!

Thanks, Felici! I took my fifth week photos yesterday, and I can actually see a difference! I can't wait until I've got another couple of months under my belt and I can see a major change :)

It's your birthday? Yay! Your recent weight loss would be helping keep it happy I bet!

:jump: :jump: :jump::jump: HAPPY BIRTHDAY TOMBLE!!! :jump: :jump: :jump: :jump:

Thanks Felici! Yes, in fact I felt pretty happy! We even went out for dinner, I had a really nice meal and didn't feel guilty about it. I was a bit heavier the next morning but that's gone away already. No cake or anything, I seem to have lost my sweet tooth (hooray!)

A rowing I shall go!

I just hired a rowing machine from a fitness company. When I used to go to the gym, rowing was the one thing I really liked because it combined fairly heavy muscle use with cardio, and I liked the way it felt. So, I've just hired a pretty decent rowing machine and I'll be trying it out for a month. If I get to really like it I will either hire it for longer, or hire a better one with the aim of buying it. I hope it arrives tomorrow so I can use it on the weekend!!!

I was doing situps on tuesday night - I put a strap around the bed, hooked my feet under it and did situps off the edge. Really intense, my stomach is still a bit sore!

Wow, I am so in the spirit of things at the moment. Once the weight starts going away and I find myself in the `groove' it almost seems easy. My raging desires for snacks seem to have faded, my sugar cravings have let go and I'm not eating nearly as much as I was. I feel healthier, happier, lighter, and I can't bloody wait to reach my goal!

I know that I could fail again, and this has made me extra vigilant and determined to really push through the barrier this time.

My previous failure was due to letting myself eat in an unrestrained manner for a few weeks. That was all that it took to get back my old habits, habits I thought were gone for good. Getting back to eating properly has taken about the same time, and that amazes me somewhat. So, come next Christmas I will eat whatever I want for a DAY only, then back to NORMAL eating!

When I reach my goal weight, I will let myself snack a bit more. I will have to eat more anyway to maintain weight (imagine that, deliberately having to eat more), so if I really want to snack, that's when I'll do it.

Okay, I've rambled long enough here.

U could put a dragon head pic on that rowing machine and pretend u r in a race!:) Soon we'll see nice arms on ya!

it's great u r on a mountain top experience. I'm beginning to climb up the mountain now after a lousy week. It does feel awesome izn't it? :jump:

Yay!! Experience isn't it wonderful!! :)

I am so glad to have you back on board - and it's wonderful that you are feeling all the benefits in such an exciting way. That bed-strap-situps thing sounds pretty scary!! Still it's great to be in that excited state and powering through to your goals!! :)

goodness - i read bed - straps and had to read up - i was gonna applaud tomble for being so open with his kinkiness :) and be a little jealous too.. but nope - ya'll are just being allkinds of healthy...

Great idea! Dragon boat races are cool! Glad you're working your way back up again from your week, it's such a cool feeling when it all just `clicks' together.

Yeah, it's the experience of previous failures that gets you. I was reading back on some old stuff and suddenly realised that I not only lost a lot of weight in 2006, but also in 2005. I have to stop this up and down pattern! So, the plan is, hit my goal and BLOODY STAY THERE!

Haha, you filthy little minx :) It's like a cargo strap, actually it's called a ratchet strap. Now you've got me thinking, I'll talk to my partner tonight and see what she... well, that's for me to know. ;)

Ooo, the scales were kind to me this morning! Didn't get any exercise, but I did discover that I was at 112.2 kg this morning (256.8lb). That's 5.5kg since I started this diary! That puts me about one fifth of the way to my goal! Woo!
