Cohen's Lifestyle Tips for a Cohen Newbie...

Prefix for Cohen's Lifestyle
Day 45 (Week 7, Day 2) 11.16.2008

Today I'll eat:

Yogurt with Benefiber and Cinnimon
Apple with Crackers (apple pie, my new fav treat)
Steak with Spinach Salad
Apple with Crackers
Lean Hamburger with Califlower and Crackers
Apple if needed

I just finished my first 500ml of the day with my vitamin! Yay!!

I bought a little pill case last night so it should help me remember when I have and haven't taken the vitamins.

Goal today is to drink 5 more 500 ml of water.

I'm going to go for a little walk today and then 5 miles tomorrow at the gym. I think it will take me less than an 1.5 hours. At least that is the goal. This is my new routine 3 times a week.

I've got back on the routine otherwise I am going to be in trouble on the half marathon day! Ok that is all for now

I've been doing ok with the Vitamin, but still not really getting enough water. I've got to figure out that piece. I have all of the tools, its just DOING IT. Such a silly thing to screw this diet up over. :reddevil:

The scale is still moving a .5 lbs at a time which is great... just need the water to get the bigger movement.

I am still very happy for the scale moving on a fairly consistant basis. I'm averaging about 3 lbs a week, and it seems like I will keep that up.

At this pace, I will finish in about 20-24 weeks. I plan/hope to have refeed done by my birthday which is in April.

YAY!

No if I just drink my dang water I will beat that! Ha!

Feeling low

Finished 3 weeks yesterday and weight loss really slow. lost only 6.2k till date. Feeling very very low - still sticking to diet and plan too but energy and mood both down! at this rate i will never lose the balance 35K i have to go especially if things slow down more after one month - any advise or motivation i am at my lowest since i started the diet. :banghead:

Positive thoughts

Max66 did you get anything resolved on the cheese issue?

Regardless of the cheese issue that is a great loss...

66 just take a step back and look at your results so far... you have been on the program 3 weeks/21 days.. You have lost 6.2 kg that is a lot of weight in a little time.:hurray:.. be proud of yourself..that is amazing.:cheers2:. remember we are not suppose to weigh every day or week, as it may be discouraging.. our bodies naturally plateau...your month is not up yet..

I too had a bit of a funny day.. but thankfully my hubby was good to me and i have recovered... I had a small cry and then all was fine.. it was pretty funny really,my daughter has been sick and i think i was just exhausted...

Just try and keep your weightloss and size shrinkage in perspective... if we were doing anyother program it would take (forever) months to see that sort of progress...

Be good to yourself.. it is hard especially now we are going into the social season.. try and stay positive. believe in yourself... Before you know it it will be 30 kg to loose then 25kg to loose..

Take care, be strong and believe in yourself..

Thanks Fifty :)

I'm doing good. I still can't beleive that I am down 37 lbs overall. I will never EVER EVER be this heavy again!

I'm even more please that 21 of that is from Cohen!!!

Its just funny to think that it took me 3 months to lose 16lbs and I've lost 21 in 7 from doing COhen. It really make me wonder why I waited so long to do it. But like I said at the begining, I wasn't ready nor dedicated as I am right now. I know I will do this and I know I will finish.

I'm excited about how I'm doing. I'd be lying if I am not still pissed about month 1, but I know I was coming into the program fresh off of losing 10 lbs in September and I was going to hit a plateu at some time.

PLUS GRRRRR the wicked ground beef :) My own fault though :nopity:

I think I am going to lose more than my first month, but just a tad, so that is exciting. I know people often lose a lot the first month and not much the second, so it make me happy to be going at a steady pace.

I actually have a little tracking thing, to help me pick "target dates" I should hit refeed around week 20... if I stay constant!

Feeling a lot better. Thanks for your concern. Have decided to make this a priority in my life and not get into the other crap around. one month weigh in on 26th - lets see.

Oh boy oh boy...

Fell off the bandwagon on Saturday...

I OD on eggs... I think I ate 7 eggs!!!

All day.. I just ate eggs, crackers and a little mayo...

Hard Boiled, Fryed (in Spray Pam Olive oil wiped from the pan)

and lots and lots of Coke Zero...

It cost me 2 lbs!!!!

I went for a 7 mile walk Sunday and I am back to my Saturday morning, pre hopping off the band wagon weight.

I had been plateaued for 3 days so.. I have no idea.. I think I was just craving protein or something crazy.

2lbs!!! 2 lbs!!!!!!

But at least I lost it.... I have my 8 week weigh in on Friday, I hope to drop another 2 before that.. or at least 1 so I can be into the 170s!

Hi CohenInAz! I just read your 1pdforum blog from start to finish and enjoyed it thoroughly. I don't think I can register there though as it's a US only PD site I think. You are going to romp in that work % weight-loss challenge! I also loved that NY coat!
It's funny the sorts of cravings we get out of the blue. I wonder if that was because of the exercise. I can understand the egg craving as I usually want protein, rather than sweets. I must get organised into some sort of regular exercise & I think Pilates might be the go. Cheers, Cate.
PS Thanks for posting in the handbag thread. I think when I was young my contents were similar to yours but no-one used a backpack. I've kept adding to it over the years and now people know where to go for the bandaids etc!

Cate

HI Cate, Woke up this morning and weighed myself after 28days and my weight loss is 7k instead of 7.4 that it was when i weighed myself at 24 days!!! how is this possible - i have gone over everything i have eaten and not deviated a single time - 3L water, vitamins food at exact weight, in 5 hour intervals (actually 15 mins more that 5 hours just incase) - have you or anyone you know ever seen such a thing! please advise - thanks max66

Ha!

Thanks Cate!

I try to keep them the same, at least at the begining I would copy and paste one into the other... but I've been doing a lot mroe there lately... but I always read over here!

For some reason, I forget this address at work.

You might be able to join if you have a PD number, its your program number. We have a few internationals, but I don't think anyone from Austrailia. You can always ask, as it is a link from the normal site. I don't see why you shouldn't be able to join.

I posted something from here over there and a few people might migrate and start visiting here soon.

Hehe. I love that coat too. I haven't tried it on in a few weeks, but I think it might actually fit now.

I would think that about the eggs, but I hadn't wored out for a few days before that... I did walk 7 miles the next day.... but I didn't know I was doing that when I ate all those eggs!!!!

I am glad to report though that I am at 180 right now... so.... I HOPE to lost 2 in the next two days... thats what I've been averaging since the cheat... so I have my fingers crossed. I would love to be 178 on my 8 week weigh in!

I just updated the photo blog today.. Ihad left my camra at work for a few days.

Speaking of shaking things up... I am changing how I eat and starting to read the meal with the most calories and protein first in the morning...

I read that it was a good idea to do this in general... so I am going try it in pd world. see if it helps

I remember you talking about changing things up liek this, so I am going to give it a shot.

I'm already for Thanksgiving tomorrow. I am cooking, so it will be cohen safe.. I'm also making my parents eat a cohen thanks givng, with the right portions and everything, so we will see how that goes.

I did get them a "apple smoked" Turkey and I will have regular turkey but that was just to save on flavor!

Well... I better get to cleaning house!!

I was planning on BBQing and I can't because it is going to rain tomorrow. It only rains like every 10 years on Thankgiving. It would figure it would happen this year!

Hi CohenInAz- Good idea the changing around the meals. I used to do it a lot, especially when weight-loss slowed. I've just looked at my program book & can't find a number so will email the clinic to see if I have one. We don't celebrate Thanksgiving here in Aus but I know how big it is there so-
HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!
Cheers (with water, of course) Cate.

8th week today!

No sure if you guys know this, but we buy the program in 12 week segments when we have to do it online.

Today is the end of my first 8 weeks! I have 4 more weeks to go and then will have to start another 12 weeks.

I figure I should hit goal around week 20 or so. Perhaps even sooner as I might need to change my goal weight because of my muscle mass. But that is still many weeks away.

So... for my grand weigh in today I am at 178.5!!! This means I have lost 20 lbs on Cohen in 8 weeks! I also lost 4lbs in 4 days when I started the program early and almost 40lbs since I got off my rear in July and started making changes!! WOOOOO HOOOO!!!!!

I've also lost a total of 34.5 inches!

End of First 8 weeks

178.5 lbs down from 198.5 lbs Lost: 20lbs
45% down from 49% Body Fat Lost 4%
Neck - 12.5 in down from 13.5 in Lost 1.0in

Chest/Under Bust - 33.5 in down from 37 in Lost 3.5in
Natural Waist (I'm high waisted) 36in down from 40.5 in Lost 4.5 in

Well Done !!

:hurray::cheers2::party::hurray::cheers2::party:
WELL DONE!!!
Congratulations CohenInAz!!! You are kicking derriere!:driving:
I thought you did the whole program just online, with very little support from consultants, so that's better than I thought. We pay more(AUS$750 now?)
Cheers, Cate, sighing,......muscle mass!! (Expletive deleted!) What's that?!!:)svengo:)

Yes, its all online. The cost is $250 US for the first 12 weeks and they discount it for the next 12 weeks.

I bug my consultant... well I did on almost a daily basis. I think they are Australian as they are always answering in the middle of the night.

The forum helps a lot for support as they consultants only check in every 4 weeks if you don't talk to them.

They basically send us the program and then its up to us to be proactive.

I have 72 lbs to lose (32kg), so I have no idea what that translates into a Aus contract...

I took 28 weeks to lose 36kgs and time was never an issue or was ever mentioned with my consultant. I think this varies a lot, depending on which clinic you go through. Perhaps I was lucky! My consultant, Lisa, is based in Hobart and is absolutely lovely and always very helpful. Cheers, Cate

Az..

Goodness me so much has happened in my brief time away... :party:Well done on you loss so far..:hurray:
:eek2:It is amazing... :newangel:
:DKeep it up..
On the contract thing.. my original program gave you 2 years this new one gives me 6 months and the cash price was $750.00..

Who is your consultant or do many people email you?.. Mine is Gaye but i have also spoken to Sarah. Rosemary started the clinic out here... they are from the perth clininc.. We have no web based sites over here, well none that the clinic has referred me to anyway.. i found this site on my own...

We were told you should loose a minimum 17 kg by your week 12 weigh in and bloods.. so whats that about 37 lbs... i think you are well on your weigh.. ha ha ha..

Take care and give yourself a good clap, you have done great..

We don't know our persons name, they always just sign Your 1stPersonal Consultant.

I am down 24 lbs right now (on Cohen), so I think I can make the 37 in the first 12 weeks. I've always wondered the difference.

I'm down again today! That deviation last week seemed to send me into hyperdrive... or the water, more then likely the water.

So... I have to lose 15lbs in the next 4 weeks to hit my mid program goal. I wanted to be 162 when I left for my trip.

I've typically only lost 10lbs a month, so not sure if I will make it, but I hope so... I seem to be doing better getting in all of my water and vitamins. I also added another vitamin at lunch time this week and that also seems to help.

So... 1 lbs down, (from my 8 weeks) and 15 more to go!
