Tinysara's weight loss diary extrordinare!

I'm trying to write that I hope you are ok, but some how each time I do it comes out like I'm a dirty old man. I'll have to go with this one. Take care of the girls.

Camy: Hey!! Thanks for following my diary. You're right- i should try to eat more spinach and other greens. I just have a hard time keeping things that don't freeze...I love broccoli because it comes right out of the freezer and into the wok :) And peas are okay, but a little starchy for my tastes. I'll have to do some research on super-high-iron veggies that I can freeze! I loooove fruit and veg: it's just very hard for me to get any in, i'm never at home unless it's before 8:30am or after 10:30pm (i'm not at home right now :(!) I'm trying to increase my cals but with good things...just hard to come across. thanks for the tips, I remember the doc wanting to put me on iron pills, then when he told me the side effects I was all "Fuck that! I'll take the spinach!" I don't think I can deal with anymore constipation in my life....TMI? Sorry! I'm tired! Anywho, I'm studying bio med, but at the moment studying for a dreadful Human Physiology final that I desperately need to pass! Congrats on being out of school, I envy you!

jz: Thanks bud :) You'd be proud of my workouts lately, I've been really nailing them!! Thanks for the kind words about my girls. The pain has decreased but I'll still make sure to check just in case.

Trops: Oh nothing about honey, just a little thing called 17 CARBS PER TBSP!? Scary! And yeah, that's the cto5k plan...eventually increase my running. I had to stop running today, very annoyed, more on that later!

Cinderelly: Hey!! Thanks for joining the shin-pain club :( haha, I never thought about the padding issue! I have severely fallen arches so i have to wear insoles in my runners, they're not very soft. Also my shoes are quite old so I probably am missing some padding in them. Perhaps I'll ask for new runners for christmas! Glad to hear your bootcamp was fine!! It must definitely be the shoes. Hope you're pain-free from now on! Thanks for the nice words about my tit :D hahaha glad you got a laugh!

Karl: Hey pal! What happened on your exam?! :( I have chem coming up soon too....Which year of Chem are you in? what went wrong? Don't worry though, I totally made yesterday's exam my bitch. It was awesome. Much easier subject than chem though, Vertebrate Structure and Function. I'll take a biology over a chemistry ANY day! Thanks for carin' about my girls :D

Fishay: Thanks for carin' about me pal :) I think they might be getting better, much less pain but I'd still like an MRI to check for a slow leak. Your luck-wishing must have helped because I obliterated the final. It rocked! How are things with you <3! You should go for a massage or something to have a nice chill-out sesh, you deserve a nice relaxing day :) Or maybe you should just have a sesh in general if you know what i mean :sifone:!!

SO ANYWAYZ

Yesteday: Karate was cancelled AGAIN. Fuck that noise. Some stupid "women's defense" class was in the room so I couldn't even do my own thang. Made up for it today though!

Today: Went for my run. My inner calves were KILLLING on impact. It was really dull pain and very uncomfortable. I got really down and sad about it until i realized: Elliptical is NO impact! I got on that thang and ran for like 30 mins! It was awesome! I was sweating like a hog! I'm gonna stick with the elliptical for the next few days to make SURE my calves stop hurting. It's getting really annoying! I also went on the bike for 30 minutes while studying. I burned a total of ~400cals. go me!

My diet was shit today. I don't exactly want to say what I ate because it's embarassing and I should be trying harder, but I'm under a lot of stress and there's not really anywhere healthy to eat on campus. I would bring food, but I'd like to know something other than a protein bar that can 'keep' in my backpack for 14+ hours. Yikes!

I'll spare you the gory details, but I'm at 1,166 cals and 140 carbs, most being bad carbs/cals.

My tit feels better, but still hurts to the touch. The poor thing. I'll feel better about it when I talk to my surgeon though.

OH YEAH: if you hadn't read already, i DESTROYED my Vertebrate Structure and Function final. Being conservative, I'mma say I got an 80 at least. Super stoked! Anyways I have a multitude of studying to do for monday's exam so I won't be around quite so much. Don't worry though, I'll still keep up with the gym/ trying to eat healthy. Now that I've discovered studying while exercising, I'm unstoppable!

Have great days
love tiny

Congrats on the exam! Way to OWN that bitch!! :D Also, way to keep active and persistent... two very important things in your new healthy lifestyle. Have fun studying for the next exam!! *rolls eyes because he figures she'll ace this one too*

Have good productive days miss Sara. :) :)

SUP GUYSSSS!

It's been a solid week! I've been to the gym EVERYDAY since I posted last!! Using the Arc trainer, burning 400-500cals, and I even started doing some light free weights to tone up my arms (they're a mess).

I hope all has been well with you guys.

So, today's exam, although terrifying, went much better than expected. There were 5 questions and I did really well on four of them but kinda botched the last one...It's okay though, that means that hopefully I got a mark somewhere in the 70-80% area, and I'll pass the course (and then some). Woo!! I have another exam Wednesday morning (Chemistry) and another one on Friday morning (Vertebrate structure and function again, this time on lecture material). Thankfully the exams have gone from hardest-easiest, which is nice.

My eating has been pretty solid except for some minor screwups which I am going to go ahead and attribute to a) staying up super late b) food places on campus closing early due to exams and c)immense stress about that first exam. Now that it's done though, I feel better than ever. I feel so ready to focus on gymming it up and eatin' healthy!

I've got my plan all set up for when I go home too: Going to the gym with my dad at 5am (YIKES, but it's the only time I can get there) and a Brazillian Jiu Jitsu class twice a week to keep my training going. I'm going to take this holiday season by STORM in terms of eating right and exercising. I can't wait for my one major treat of the season....My boyfriend's mom makes the most PHENOMENAL christmas pudding. Oh god...And the sauces! I can't wait. I'll just have to work super hard up until then and EARN it!!

I thought I should mention: You must be wondering what I weigh now, and stuff. I do monthly weigh-ins and measureings, on the 9th of every month. So look forward to the 9th, because I've sneak-peeked the measuring tape and you are going to be IMPRESSED!!!

I would also like to add that I am now the VERY PROUD owner of a tiny, barely visible gap between my thighs...It's small, but BY GOD IT'S THERE. And it's just going to get bigger and bigger! All this running must be working wonders!

Also found out why my calves hurt: I sprint. Toes touch the ground, nothing else. For the time being i'm just trying to change my running position so I'm more heel-toe, but I'm staying off the mill until the pain stops. I guess that also explains why I have such muscle-y calves!

ANYWAY
Have fantastic weeks everyone
I'll be back to regular updates after the exam season.

THANKS!
sara

Congratulations on your weight loss so far!

If you plan to change your running position and do quite a bit of it make sure you ease in to it and do proper stretches so you don't create any other problems. is an excellent guide for stretches you should do, the first three (the wall pushups) should really help loosen up your calves.

Good luck, you seem to be doing great!

I have never been able to wear skinny jeans, cute riding boots, and other fashionable items

That sucks, I met a woman who is 5' at my yoga retreat last weekend, and hanging out with her I realized how bloody awful it truly is, to be an outlier in height when it come to clothes--cropped pants were like flooding, just not long enough, and regular pants--forgeddabout it! It got me thinking about how truly annoying it must be--and the comments! I found myself saying things about how short she was and stopping because I realized I was being an asshole! LOL! I wasn't being mean, but pointing it out, I realized, was stupid and probably annoying for her--but she acted like it was no big deal--she was probably used to it.

When I get home at night, I have salmon, chicken, tuna, etc. I am trying to focus on fish and seafood, because I feel the essential oils in them are of utmost importance ( I am studying Biomedical science!). I will also have a bowl of lightly seasoned vegetables or a salad :)

ALL RIGHT!!!!!!! :hurray: I used to be vegan (for 3.5 years) until I traveled to tropical areas and now I eat fish almost every day. I do not eat meat or poultry, though--I don't think it's necessary and I don't like them. I DO eat raw cheese and Greek yogurt, and plenty of veggies and legumes--need to eat more fruit lately! :smash:

I take high intensity Karate classes on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. I'm looking to increase my exercising by starting to run at the gym once in a while. I'm thinking I will begin with two miles, and then try to get myself running for the entire two miles

SWEET! I run and kickbox, but I think Karate is amazing. Was watching the juvenile World Championships on TV and my eyes almost popped out of my head! Definitely run. It keeps your lymphatic system clean, I swear it! And the prana moving! LOL!

'that time of the month' when cravings are astronomical. If i can get through this week, I can get through any goddamn time of the year. Wish me luck!

LOL!!!!!!!!!! I feel ya!

Also, my biggest issue is sweets.

Been there, feel ya. It took me years to balance my sweet tooth, and to this day I need my soy/rice/coconut milk ice cream and chocolate. I found that eating high protein stuff like yogurt, salmon jerky, or soy sausage can help curb my sweet tooth. And I drink green, black, and Earl Grey tea with a tablespoon of agave nectar to quell them, too.

Congrats on all positive!!!

In running, try to aim for landing in the middle of your foot--sounds weird but it's the way to go! CHEERS!

Hey lady sounds like you are doing amazing in all aspects of your life right now!! Sorry I've been MIA.. I also have finals and am super stressed and dont have time for anything seemingly!

Sorry to hear about the boob... hopefully it gets better and I like you would feel better after checking with the doc. Lets hope its just a deep bruise.

Keep up all the hard work!!! You're doing great! :grouhug:

Hope school and all else, is going great for you!! Also, hope you are dodging the bake sales while seeing "skinny bitches" and thinkin' to yourself... I will never be skinny... I will be healthy!! :D :D Have great ones.

Hey Sara, You like that Arc Trainer? I hated it when I started using it. Now I use it every time I hit the gym. It really is a great work out!

Just checkin in on my L'il friend here... And I'm really looking forward to the results...

HEY! I'm back with GREAT news!! It's WEIGH IN AND MEASURE IN DAY!

Conkel: Thanks so much for that site dude! Very helpful. I'm going to try easing back onto the mill this week, with my new 'flat' foot positions :) Those stretches will really help. Loved your before and after pics btw! You look awesome.

JZ: Hey pal, thanks for the unending support. I really need it! School and exams went well, but my eating has been WAY outta line lately. I've been really sick the past few days, not going to the gym and not eating right. GRRR!

Curvie Girlie: Hey girl!! Thanks so much for takin' a look at my journal. I think you're definitely right about protein helping to curb a sweet tooth, I've heard that around lately. My protein intake has been dismally low so I'll need to bump that up for sure and see the change. And yeah, us short folk really do get it a LOT...The "Oh my god...you are really short!" ...5 mins later "I MEAN YOU ARE REALLY SHORT!" hahaha, you can only be nice about it until people get over the initial shock :) I'm just lucky that I fit well into petites stuff!

MissD: Thanks for coming by! I've had some crazy school crap going on too, know how it feels. Hope all is well and you destroyed your finals! The boob is feeling MUCH better :) Thankyou!!

Okay guys! Official December 9th (yesterday) weigh in happened. I forgot my measuring tape in my University town, so I had to go out and buy one today.

WEIGH-INS

INITIAL NOV. 9th DEC. 9th

That's right! As of thismorning I am 130 lbs, 5 lbs down from one month ago!! Wahoo!!! I take a LOT of measurements so bare with me :)

OVERALL LOSS:12.25"! In one month! WOOOO!!! So stoked! I am most pleased with the waist and belly losses, but REALLY MAD about the calf! The two main places I need to lose weight are my arms and calves, and I went UP in my calf measurement?! I mean yeah it could be muscle or whatever but my calves are already muscular enough and I'm really trying to change that! Grr...Ah well. So I guess it's time to change my ticker :)

So as I already mentioned, I'm really sick lately and just want to sleep. Still have white crap on my giant tonsils and now super terrible congestion and the aches. Really annoying. I'll be back to the gym this week when I feel better, i promise.

Anyways, I'm going back to bed. Have a great night you guys!

Sara, those are some great numbers you threw up there. :hurray: I wouldn't worry so much about the calves. Muscular calves are sexy, no? :biggrinjester: besides, losing three (yes, THREE) inches on your waist is worth a heck of a lot more then a half inch on the calf.

Yah, hey I'm with Trops on this one Sara... I mean, sorry, if I'm ogling women (not that I would do that sort of thing, mind you), Athletic legs impress me way more than the "model skinny" legs do. Nice job on measurements in the important areas though. You rock!

Congrats on those numbers and INCHES!!! Way to go! Very impressive Sara. You should be very Proud of your hard work and great effort!!! :) :) :smash: :smash: :hurray: :hurray: :hurray:
Hope you are feeling better now! Also, gotta go with the guys here... toned and shaply calves are HOT! :)

This is a little late but congratulations on the loss! You're doing a great job all around.

Hope you feel better soon (if not by now) and can get back in to the gym!

Congrats on the fabulous inches lost!!! :hurray: :hurray: :hurray:

Too bad you're so sick. Seems like so many people are sick lately, UGH!!!

I just recently bought myself bananas, apples, and a jar of almond butter to eat as snacks in the day and it REALLY WORKS with keeping my appetite down, being delicious yet satiating, and high in protein and great for me in general--give it a shot!

I wouldn't worry so much about the calves. Muscular calves are sexy, no? :biggrinjester:

I KNEW Trops would come in on this one!

Athletic legs impress me way more than the "model skinny" legs do.

But I didn't know Karl would be up on this one, too!

Hey they're right though, and as you drop weight I bet the calves will get smaller, too, if that's what you want :)

Just dropped in to say hi, I followed JZ to your place, i hope you don't mind :)

well done loosing the inches :)
