Thanks guys. No no rack. The only thing we have is a smith rack and that's not a great option.
150.8 this morning
Long day today. Won't go into too much detail. Half day at work, then off to get ready for the show. Finished up there around 7pm and stopped at Edo on the way home for supper.
My trainer's groom can no longer help her at the show so now I've got a job for the weekend. This means instead of being at the show around 8am I have to be at the show around 5:40am, hurray... But it's gonna save me/make me money so.
Since my horse show days have gone from fairly easy to pretty hard I'm re-evaluating my plan. Instead of doing 1500 for the weekdays then whatever's left for the weekend. I'm gonna do 1700 for the weekdays then will split an extra 1000 cals on top of that for the weekend (so I could say have 2200 both sat and sun, or 2000 one day and 2400 the next. I normally get these 1000 cals by eating 200 cals less a day mon-fri) since I will be burning more cals and just so dang busy. If I don't eat up to 1700 cals during the week great. If I do eat above 1700 cals during the week the amount I'm over will be taken out of my additional 1000 cals for the weekend.
I also had wanted to exercise still at least 4-5 times this week, but with the additional workload of the horse show I'm not sure. I'd like to at least do my weight lifting but I'm gonna have to see.
Today I planned to eat to 1700. I did, but when I was making my lunch to take to the horse show tomorrow I nibbled on some things so added 100 cals to my diary to account for it. Too much chocolate this evening.

Lunch: Lasagna
Snack: Almond granola bar
Supper: Edo Japan
Snacks: Cookies and cream, kit kat bits, coffee crisp bites, 'nibbling random things'
Total cals: 1787

So I am gonna take 87 cals off my additional 1000 for the weekend. Anyways I really gotta shower and head to bed since I will be waking up around 5:10am

I´ve said it before and I´ll say it again: chocolate is evil. Or possibly the combination fat/sugar in about equal quantities is... I hope you slept well, you´ll obviously need the energy!

I'm now not only on a mission to ride my bicycle a gazillion miles, I'm on a mission to get MR to smile at least once. :sifone:

And on a mission to help cate with her golf game. :coolgleamA:

On the squats, to me a rack seems like sort of a necessity. Other options: you could power clean which is essentially it's own exercise, and then front squat, or do a press and then back squat. You could do a barbell hack squat which is kind of a behind the back deadlift (it's a little tricky so getting form down is key). Or you could just use a leg press machine if the gym's got it. While many folks don't like it as much as the squat, it is probably safer and to me anyway, leg press + ab workout = squats (more or less).

If all of that seems not doable, you can try bodyweight stuff like wall sits (which start off easy and at the end are pure torture right before you give out).

Enjoy the show.

Thanks guys. Ya, not rack, so I'm just gonna do what I can do till I can't do it anymore then go from there.

Today was quite the day. Awaked at 5:10am, at the show by 5:40 and just crazy crazy busy straight through for 9 hours (shockingly done early!). Didn't get to eat till around 12 (7 hours after getting up).
SO I was working with a horse that was part of my job grooming for my trainer. I was lunging it (having it on a long rope and the horse goes around you in about a 20 meter circle) when suddenly it spooked and went sideways then bolted. All I could think was "DON'T LET GO OF THE ROPE!!!" as the last thing I wanted was for a horse that wasn't even mine getting loose and possibly getting hurt, even possibly getting onto the road. Unfortunately, Keeping hold of the rope was not really a choice I could make as it ripped from my hand. My hand strength is just no match for a 1000 pound animal bolting full tilt.
The horse thankfully didn't make it too far before a passerby was able to catch her. The horse was no worse for the wear, but I got a bit torn up.

Not nearly as bad as Little John's hand injury! But it still wasn't much fun. The one whiter looking spot on the middle finger you can see the anatomy through the tiny layer of skin still covering it. Thankfully it was surprisingly less sore and stinging throughout all my day's activities (it happened at about 7am), However when I cleaned it with peroxide when I got home I nearly screamed bloody murder!!! It felt like my flesh was peeling off!
Left the show around 4pm and was just super tired which made me feeling hungry and wanting to eat comfort food. And unfortunately I gave in. Chocolate, and pizza with breadsticks. Finished around 3281. Which means I have used up all (and more) of the 1000 cals I was trying to leave for the weekend. My days will be much easier for the rest of the week. One of the horses I cared for today and was supposed to be cared for tomorrow is being taken care of by it's owner so I only have the one horse to care for. So hopefully less exhaustion tomorrow so less munchy feelings.

Snack: Strawberries
Lunch: Salad
Snack: Bits and bites, chocolate
Supper: pizza and breadsticks, mini coke
Snack: Chocolate
Total Cals: 3281

Oof - skip the hydrogen peroxide, all it does is bubble. Defintely want to goop it up with Neosporin or something similar, and wrap it in gauze! I had a similar injury (including the same kind of animal), and it was rough, rough!

Thanks guys.
Hand is currently hurting. I think it hurts more today than yesterday, plus one area that was hurt the least is coming into the 'itchy' stage.
Had a good day at the show today. Today was a much easier day grooming. Only the one horse and he only did one class. My horse was great and we had a clear jumping round but were a bit slow so had one time fault. But they messed up the results. I wasn't there when they announced the results but when I looked them up online this evening it showed up incorrectly. I had 1 fault for going over the time limit, one of my trainer's other students had 4 faults for knocking a jump down, but they have her placing 3rd and me placing 9th. There was an unusual problem on course when I went. My trainer's other student went just before me and she knocked a jump down. Apparently the jump crew did not notice and so did not fix the jump before I went. I did not notice till I was on course and cantering towards the fence. However I jumped it clean and that mistake should not have counted against me. However, because the judge saw the jump crew pick the jump up after my round, they may have thought I knocked it down and not my trainer's student and switched it or something. I have to go to the office tomorrow morning and look at the judge's card and try to get it fixed. I have the round video taped so I can show them that I did not knock the jump down and that it was like that as I was heading down to it. Hoping they fix it as that would mean that I would place and get a ribbon and prize money.
Didn't do well on the eating front again today which is part of the reason why I didn't really feel like posting here today (I don't feel like posting when I am not fully on track). I don't mind not being perfect at shows, but it's the out of control eating I don't like. And I know it's harder to get back on track afterwards if I fly so far off the handle.
Surprisingly yesterday morning I was 149.8 and this morning after my bad day of eating yesterday was 149.0
Should have exercised again today too. Though I'm not sure if I can do weight training with my hand right now. Sorry for not posting on other people's threads. Just don't have it in me right now (plus typing is a little painful at the moment)

Ah, I´m guilty of that too :blush5: Better get posting at "home" so I can tell you it´s easier to get back on track when you keep writing in your diary. Good work jumping so well even though your hand hurts!

Yowch, that looks seriously painful!!! I'd be having a hard time picking up weights too if my hand looked like that!!!

Hope you got your score sorted out, how frustrating.

Thanks guys.
So my score did get settled. It was thankfully just a computer error that was sorted by the time I went to the show office. I placed 5th in the class.
Had a great round yesterday. Didn't knock any jumps down and was under the time allowed. This was the first time I have ever gone 'clear' in a 1.20m (4') class ever! During the jump off we got a few rails as he was a bit jazzed up from the first round but I was still happy.
Here's a quick video still

Today he had the day off with just a light ride. It was pouring all day which wasn't much fun.

Not doing great eating wise still. And that showed on the scales this morning! Stupid water weight, especially on official weigh in day! I know it'll go down pretty quick once I'm back to regular eating but it's still annoying!

Starting weight: 183.5
Current Weight: 151.4 (-1.8)
First Mini Goal Weight: 160 by March 27 *Accomplished March 20th*
Second Mini Goal Weight: 144 by July 3
Final Goal Weigh: 125

Don't like seeing the 150's again. Gotta get out of there quick!

Alright I am back and on track (hopefully!) So the show went great, as I said, except for the last day where I totally shit the bed! On the most expensive class!! Damn it!! Oh well, the rest of the show was one of the best shows we have had in like 2-3 years.
For people that want to see a video, here is me and my horse in the 1.20m class (first round was 'clear' so we moved on the the jump off where we had some faults)

Since my horse did so well at the show (barring the last day) I ended up making a super poor financial decision and entered another full show in June!! My poor bank account!

Ate totally poopy the whole show. Including most of today.
I started today off eating chocolate, then bagel with butter, then cookies, then noodles with 'light' alfredo sauce, a small can of coke, popcorn. I then was totally craving ice cream. I decided to get up, shower, then head to an ice cream shoppe. Just as I was going to get up I ended up finding a video on youtube of workout/gym fails. For whatever reason watching a video of gym fails suddenly gave me the get up and go to go to the gym! I still showered before I went cause I felt gross haha.
I did take it a bit easy at the gym cause I felt really gross from eating so poorly all day. I usually walk 2 mins, run 3 mins, then do weights. Today I just walked the 5 mins. I debated upon doing the same weights as the last time I worked out since it had been a week when normally I would work out 3 times a week, but decided against it. I did start out with just the bar for some warm up squats. For some reason my hips really hurt so I was really happy I did the warm up set, did some stretches as well and thankfully it felt ok.
60 lb squats
35 lb overhead press (which is really really light yet)
60 lb deadlift
I would normally try to do some cardio after but I was just feeling far too unwell. Will do cardio tomorrow.

I had also told myself before working out that afterwards I would only allow myself to have a salad and fruit to eat. Stuck to that, had a salad, and some grapes/strawberries.
So I feel like I am likely to be back on track. Will be back to logging my food tomorrow.

Was perfectly on track today!
151.2 this morning.
After work I got home and went to the gym. I was feeling really tired and not at all like working out. I thought today maybe was a good day to go to yoga, but unfortunately I looked up the website and the rude trainer I don't like was the one teaching today so that was a no! Told myself to go and do a light workout. I did 35 mins (2 mins walk warm up and 5 min walk cool down) 28 min straight running, 5.5 speed, 1 min sprint at 7.6. Distance of 3.01 miles (4.84 kms) and 381 cals burned.
Got back to my apartment and knew that if I sat down and did nothing right then that I would not be able to keep myself from snacking. So I set to work on doing some cleaning of my house. For those that have read my diary for a while, I'm not good about keeping a clean house. I LIKE a clean house, I'm just not good about keeping it that way. I did well for over 6 months until I started exercising back in January. But with work, riding, and working out I just lost all energy to keep my place clean. My house needs to go on the market soon so I really need to get it cleaned so I used some time to get some of it done. Spent a little over an hour cleaning, got my little office space done (went through all my paper work to find all my condo documents I will need for selling), and my kitchen (and the front area that's half kitchen/half entry way) I still need to clear out the actual entry way of shoes and jackets and such. Took my garbage to the garbage room. I still need to clean up my bedroom (the worst part!), bathroom, living room, and my porch. So much work!
Showered then was ready to make supper.
I was out of chocolate which is part of my usual evening snacks so I debated upon walking to the gas station to get some, but was lazy. Finished under cals and did my exercise today so I'm happy!

Lunch: Lasagna
Supper: Chicken wrap, potato
Snacks: Bagel with PB, popcorn
Total Cals: 1501
