Time2change journal

Thanks guys! I'm pumped and ready to get this party started...lol..omg I sound like an idiot...:smilielol5:

So, I was driving down my street today when in the distance I saw my neighbor walking her dog. I thought to myself, I really need to get out and walk my fat dog. As I drove closer, I realized it wasn't her dog she was walking....it was her pig! :piggy: roflmao!!

Whatever works!

She had that pig leashed up with a body collar and he was trotting down the road like nobody's business. LOL

Too many small, little things amuse me to no end....

I went to the gym tonight and I walked 2 miles on the treadmill. Took 45 min. I upped the incline for the first mile and walked the second one with no incline.

Thanks for stopping in my journal, Rah. And to everyone else , too!

Ok, time to watch tv with hubby.

I'll check in tomorrow.

Alert! Another one bites the Dust!

I dropped one more pound! I now weight 190.4 ! Woo Hoo!!

I tried the same trick I used yesterday, but it was a nogo.
I'm happy with the 190.4. ;)

I did good and ate breakfast, lunch and dinner yesterday. Last night I had a big old sub sandwich for dinner. Right now, I'm eating yogurt for breakfast.

I'm gonna have to update my ticker. Yeahhhh!!
Ok, I'll bbl. ;)

Anne

ps..hey loseforreal! Thanks for stopping buy!

Hey, thanks loseforreal! I'm glad to see all my exercise is paying off. Man, did it feel good to see that on my scale. ;)

I went to the gym today and did my weight lifting workout. I also walked on the treadmill for 20 min and did 15 min on the bike. Since it's Sunday, I only went once to the gym today.

My husband has been bugging me to make food with cabbage in it. I made cabbage soup tonight and it was great. The kids loved it. I thought I made enough for two meals, but everyone hogged it all and there is hardly any left.

I went to the grocery store tonight and stocked up on some fruits. I bought some Clementines, banana's, apples, grapes, and I also bought a can of powdered Slimfast. Since I'm not a big breakfast eater, I might try to drink a shake for breakfast, or lunch sometimes.

I had my husband take some before photos of me in my undies only. Boy, oh boy, I carry most of my fat weight in my stomache! It's huge! I'm not going to post those photo's until I'm thin, if I post them at all. :(

Also, my husband has been working out with me. He doesn't really need to lose weight, he's trying to bulk up. I hate to admit this, but I don't like it when he's skinny. I'd much rather see some meat on him. I hope by working out, he doesn't become too skinny.

I'll write again tomorrow.

Hi Anne

Sorry that I havent popped by your diary for a few days - it gets really difficult when away from home.

Anyway I have just read through what I have missed.

Congratulations on the weight loss. It's really excellent news. You know - I bet we all develop little weighing rituals. I think that everyone goes to the toilet before they weigh. I always have. I go to classes on Monday and Tuesday so cannot do this - but on other days if I set out early on my walk - I weigh myself as I get back from the walk and before I eat anything. I tend to have my pre-breakfast banana about 10 to 10.30 and if I set out early I am back before then.

I loved the story of the lady with the pig. :piggy:

I cannot remember whether I have told you the story of my double chin. I know that I have told some people about it - but cannot remember whether I have told you. Anyway I had a huge double chin. It was horrible. A few months ago I got into the creaming / massage side of things as I got twitchy about how my face would cope with all the fat disappearing just under the surface. I had visions of being covered in wrinkles - the beauty secrets of the morbidly obese lady........

Anyway I started using a light moisturiser in the morning and a thicker moisturiser at bedtime. I was massaging it in including rubbing up and down my neck / chin.

It was so funny - on the Tuesday before my school reunion (how is that for timing) I looked in the mirror and suddenly noticed that it had gone. I cannot say for sure when it went because I was so stunned that it had gone. I raised the subject with my husband and he confirmed that it had gone. Two days later when I saw my mother - the first thing that she said to me was "you have lost your double chin" (I hadnt mentioned it to her).

I credit the combination of weight loss and the massaging of moisturiser for the loss of the double chin. My weight when I noticed that it had gone was 14st 1.0 which is 197 pounds.

If you are not doing so already - I would say start massaging moisturiser twice a day. Good luck.

Take care
Love

I went to the gym this morning and upped the incline. Holy Cow! I was only able to walk one mile @ 22 min. That incline sure kicks my butt! I had a kink or something in my knee and every time I took a step, it felt like my knee cap was scraping bone or something. Yyyyyouchhhhh!!

You know I really like Crystal Light, but I have one huge complaint! That stuff is red and it stains bigtime! I have knocked over 2 glasses of it within the past two days, and my water bottle leaks, so it drips everywhere. I'm going to have to invest in a non-leaking water bottle and maybe some sippy cups. I can't have that stuff staining my furniture, carpet, floor, clothes, etc.....

Took my dog to the vet for her bloodwork. She's on thryoid meds and it has to be checked every couple of months. She's lost 7 lbs so far. Same as me....lol She started out at 93 lbs. Some lady at the vets office came in and looked at Emily and said, " Now, that's a WIDE dog!" I said she was wider a couple of months ago. She said, " Was she pregnant?" I said, "No, she's just fat---but she's losing!" lol

I'll write later.

I didn't see your post, Margaret. I have been using moisturizer on my face twice a day now. I don't know if rubbing it will help with the double chin, though. So far, my face has been tolerating Ponds dry skin cream.

So, maybe one day I can wake up and my chin will be gone, just like yours ;)

I'm gonna wait a couple of days before I weigh myself again.

See ya!

Anne

Hi Anne

Well done on going to the gym and walking. That incline sounds gruelling. I dont think that I would fancy it. Still I always am inclined to look at the coward's way out.

It sounds like your dog is really benefitting from your project. Seven pounds is a great loss for her (and for you too). It should mean that you both are healthier girls.

I think that the mixture of weight loss, cream and massage (rub your neck/ chin area with long sweeping upward rubs like I do) will sort out your double chin. I was amazed when I noticed that mine had gone.

Take care

I had to add a photo of my fat dog. Maybe I can do a before and after on her too.

ps. I call her fat dog, but I know her weight problem is serious. You wouldn't believe how much she ballooned after she got fixed. She weighed 43 lbs when I got her, four years ago.

1 photo is her when I first got her. She'd been fixed that same week.
2 photo is her today, with her thyroid problem.

I don't know how to add two photos so I will add the second one to the next post.

I went to the gym tonight and OMG that treadmill is kickin' my butt! I upped the incline to 1.5 ( that may be small potatoes to some of you, but not me!) and I was walking at 2.7. I did do my 2 miles. Took me 45 min.

The gym owner was still there when I went back for the second time today. He told me I was the most dedicated person in the gym. :) I'll take that compliment!

I'm getting more blisters on my foot. They are forming on the side, right along the arch. OMG the itch was something fierce tonight and I almost couldn't stand it. I tried to pop the blisters, but they are so deep within the layers of my skin I couldn't get to them. I might soak my feet and soften them up and hopefully I can get them to pop.

Margaret...
I have not kept track of what I ate last week. If I don't write something down asap, I will forget it. I have such a bad memory. I can't even remember what I had for breakfast today. I will do the challenge on my own, and the next time one comes along, I'll join. I really should have watched one before joining anyhow to see how they work. Thanks for offering to let me be on your team. I'll take you up on that on the next challenge if the offer still stands. ;)

Ok, I'm outta here.

Anne

Hi Anne

Kimberly agrees that you shouldnt give up on the challenge - she put a reply in my diary to that effect.

We do not get to choose which team we get into - it is all in the luck of the draw. I was simply stating that I do not think your team-mates will mind a few dropped points.

Although I do not calculate my calories - I do write down what food I eat and think that is a really good idea. It helps to know that you are getting a balanced diet (you cannot function properly if you have poor grade fuel) and also it helps to identify which foods work well for you and which work badly. Some food items always give me a weight gain and others almost always give me a weight loss. This kind of stuff is really useful to know. It can help you decide what to have for a meal when you really do not care what you have.

I am sorry that you are having such problems with your blisters. They are no fun.

Emily does look cuddly but lovely (a bit like us really!!!) Maybe she should have her own ticker. I have just had a vision of you putting a pedometer on her and encouraging her to increase her stepcount.

It is a great compliment that you got from the gym owner. I bet you felt really good. I cannot comment on incline settings as I never use a treadmill - but the fact that you are altering it shows that you are improving and challenging yourself as otherwise you would keep it on a lighter setting. I would never consider such a thing as small potatoes. I certainly do not go around my area looking for steeper hills to incorporate into my walk.

Take care

hey ladies

as a newcomer id just like to say howdy and WAY TO GO especially Margaret - 110lb is AWESOME....u must feel fantastic!

re the double chin - I discovered that the weight fell off from the top down.

what I mean is, the first place I lost was off my collarbone shoulders and chest. then my butt and legs. however I was a size 8-10 on my bottom half, a 10 on my top, and a size 18 waist at my lightest!!!! comes from being appleshaped - my weight is all around my middle. naturally, the unhealthiest place it can be! however i have read that apple shaped can speed their metabolism more quickly by exercise than pear shaped. which is why you get a lot of very fit slim ladies with big butts!!

Thanks TiredAussieMum - I think that we all feel better for being lesser women than we once were. I dont know what shape I am - just big I guess. Huge boobs, huge middle and huge bum. A bit like a giant hourglass.:biggrinjester:

I went to the gym this morning and did ten min warm up on the treadmill, then I went through my lifting.

The other night, the first machine was hell to do and it hurt so bad, and was really hard do lift! I asked her about it today. I told her I didn't remember it being so hard to do previously. Turned out I mistakenly added wayyyyy to much weight to it. She said, " No wonder it was so hard, I can't even lift that much!" Whewwwwwww.... I am glad of that. I thought I was just wimping out. :blush5:

My foot is becoming raw, and just regular old walking is hurting me. I was able to pop the blisters on the arch, but omg they hurt and are so tender and raw. I'm going to have to slather them in shea butter and hope they clear up. I'm afraid this is just the beginning of the outbreak, and the worst is yet to come. :(

Ok, gotta go.

Hi Anne

I am sorry that your foot is causing you so many problems. Blisters can be horrible when you walk on them. The shea butter is a good idea. I know that you told me that this is a long term medical condition that causes them - is it worth mentioning it to the doctor in case there are any new treatments out there that could help you?

Well done for going to the gym and working out despite the pain. Now that you know about the weight setting you will be sure to set up that machine right. I bet you were relieved when you discovered that there was a simple explanation.

Take care

the biggest cause of blisters are improperly fitting shoes and socks that are too absorbant and leave the moisture on youor skin while your foot slides around in the shoe...

If you're not allergic to latex, get some moleskin for the blister as they form but don't pop them... if you have popped them most pharmacies sell a product called liquid skin that is a pretty good blister protectant...

but I would get to a running store and have yourself properly fitted for a pair of shoes... you shouldn't be getting blisters...
