Time to stop thinking that my diet is not THAT bad...!

Which food logging app are you using on your iphone? You can take a screen shot by pressing the top button & the home button at the same time & then adding the file to your post.

Why, oh why does this have to happen? :) What a shame we can't be selective about where we lose fat.

Ahh very good. Thank you! I've been logging every single day. I have to say it really has helped motivation. Last night I made a week's worth of lunches just so I could improve on protein. I'm using LiveStrong's MyPlate. Do you use an app?

And haha I know what you mean! I'm a pear shape so I always lose at the top first - annoyingly!

In diet news, I will be posting my last few days later on tonight when I have access to a computer :)

Had a really busy weekend. I need a car for my new job, so did lots of test driving. Every single car is so much more powerful than what I'm used to! Still, exciting times :)

So here is my food diary over the last few days!

Friday. Got to about dinnertime and realised that my diet had barely any protein. I put alcohol in as my dinner, so the calories look as lot more than they actually are!

Breakfast
Weetabix and banana drink with peanut butter

Lunch
Quorn mince with veg and salad

Dinner
Chicken breast with pesto, vegetables and venison sausages

Drinks
1 large glass of red wine
2 gins and diet tonic
3 cups of tea
1 Diet Coke

A pint of water
A Diet Coke

The normal convention is to include the bar weight when reporting weights used.

Haha thank you for telling me that! I had a 50% chance of getting that right...

Today was pretty good. Scales have got me as 1.5lbs down. Forgot to do measurements so that's tomorrow's job.

Went to the gym to do a class called Grit. The last exercise is sort of like a bleep test but with burpees. It went a lot better this week since I wasn't gasping for breath in between each one this time! I can definitely tell I need to catch up with my fitness, but I'm happy that I seem to be catching up quite quickly.

Food diary:

Breakfast
2 boiled eggs and turkey slices

Lunch
Onion soup

Dinner
Sweet chilli chicken with veg

Snack
A protein bar

Drinks
4 teas
4 orange squashes
1 glass of red wine

Diaries help us to feel accountable, even if it is really mainly to ourselves. You're back on track which is the main thing :D

Haha and I've got my username to remind me of that! :D

Today went well enough. Went swimming for an hour. Ate beef for the first time in forever and so shocked at how many calories is in it compared to the protein!

Chicken wrap

Minced beef in sloppy joe sauce and veg

This weekend will be a little bit of a break. My boyfriend is taking me to the Lake District for my birthday (from last December, we've been meaning to book it for some time haha). We've booked a couple meals out and planned a few walks.

I've decided I'll still log on here despite the fact it won't be perfect, I'll try balance it out with recording my exercise on the Map My Walk app. (I'm getting good at this 21st century stuff!) even though the weather is currently looking like this:

Yea beef is pretty calorie rich. I think about the only thing worse is lamb. Well, at least it seems to be.

Yeah I had a quick Google. Beef, lamb, and pork are the worst culprits. Spose the benefits are logging is that you can remember the healthiest choice when you're out and about!

Have a lovely weekend. Your weather sounds similar to ours at the moment :)

Thank you :) it through it down with rain yesterday, but I still had a very good first day.

So, as expected, day 1 of the holiday wasn't a diet in the slightest. Even more so than I was expecting, as we didn't realise that cream tea was included in our package. I may be British, but this is first ever time I have had homemade scones. They were delicious!

Went off to explore Bowness, which is just below Windermere. It was pretty wet but still made a nice walk:

We weren't going particularly fast. Kept stopping and starting as we were trying to figure out where we were going! Finishing off at the pub was a good shout when we were soaked through.

When we got back, we had a nice meal and few drinks back at the hotel. The damage is below haha.

Breakfast
Half an avocado, half a tin of tomatoes, 2 boiled eggs

Lunch
1 cereal bar
1 1/2 scones with jam

Dinner
Steak tartare
Duck with kale

Drinks
5 teas
A pint of water
A pint of beer
A glass of prosecco
Half a bottle of red wine

I am back home! I had a lovely weekend :) if was dry for the rest of the time we were there, so we did plenty of walking.

Saturday's walk looked like this:

I've had a lot of fun with this Map My Walk app. I found out that it also registers the incline, so below is how the walk looked:

Breakfast was included at the hotel, so I'm glad I had a proper meal before tackling that. After we finished the walk we went out to a fish restaurant and had drinks afterwards. We were quite drunk by the end of the night. We had sore heads this morning, but another walk sorted us out in no time!

Food diary

Breakfast
Half a slice of toast
Sausage
Bacon
Mushroom
Black pudding
Poached egg

Lunch
Nothing - too busy walking!

Dinner
Grilled mackerel

A pint of water
2 pints of beer
2 glasses of prosecco

Half a bottle of wine

Today's walk was shorter but technically more difficult. Highest point was nearly 2,000 feet, which by my standards is basically a mountain haha.

Hopefully the damage won't be horrendous with all of the walking, but will have to see. In any event, I would definitely return to the lakes :)

Mm tapas is my favourite. I love picky bits. Glad you had a lovely weekend - I'd love to go there for a walking holiday. All that exercise should balance out the fizz and wine :D

I definitely recommend it. And I hope so. I've certainly tested it anyway...!

It all sounds wonderful :D

Thanks! Had a great time.

Last 3 days have been fairly good, if a little busy as I've had something to do after work every night this week so far. I've more or less kept to my calorie goals, and my food app is getting a lot of use.

Monday night I made it to body pump. It impressed my boyfriend at least as since he has been hobbling about still hurting from the walks over the weekend. I did hurt a bit the day after though!

Last night we went to a student lock-in the city centre, which meant we got about 20% off the high street shops. May or may not have used the opportunity to get ahead on Christmas shopping, as well as a couple of free drinks...

Tonight was more decorating. We have FINALLY finished everything so we are ready for carpets and new furniture. I will soon have a house where guests can stay over. Woo!

I've noticed how last couple of days ALL I can think about is the fact that I haven't exercised. I know I'll catch up with it this week, but goes to show that I do enjoy getting into the routine when I get started.

I'm sure that being so busy has also got you moving a fair bit. Isn't it great to start feeling like you are getting into a routine? How wonderful will it be to have your house ready!

good week overall :) not had any time to post on here my food diary, but been logging on my phone.

Today has so far been a KILLER for temptation. We had a bake sale this morning and I kept my head down and didn't look at any of treats. I'm told they were delicious.

Then I had a really rubbish phone call on job interview feedback, which basically said that I did well but I was too nervous, which meant I waffled a bit when answering questions. I asked her to give an example of how it came across and she said 'oh just generally'. So overall I have to work on being less nervous while being self-conscious of the fact that I might come across as nervous. How nerve-wracking.

Straight after that phone call my colleagues asked if I'd like to go to the pub. I declined and treated myself to a spoonful of pesto on my salad. Yum.

Tonight we're planning to build our own pizza before going to the cinema. I've already planned what I'm having (obviously pizza, but healthier) and have calorie counted the lot.

Overall, feeling fairly proud of myself!

So after that positive Friday, Saturday was a bit of a disaster hahahah. I went out for a meal and drinks with friends. Made decent choices food-wise, but I had 3 cocktails and wine and then more wine. Now feeling a little worse for wear and ended up missing my gym class this morning because I slept in. Arrrgh.

However, my waterproof MP3 player is on charge so I am determined that I will still make it to the gym! I'm seeing my parents tonight and they want to do a takeaway. Luckily the local curry house has a healthy option section, so I will try that :)
