Time to stop thinking that my diet is not THAT bad...!

Thanks very much guys :D

Just over 3 weeks to go until my holiday! As one final push I am going to be a stricter with my calories. My app reckons I should be having no more than 1,323. Generally I've been having 1,400 - 1,500 so will try wind it down a bit. Every little helps!

Today was going to be on plan, but after I heated up one of my premade meals I realised that my boyfriend had mislabelled the meal we were having, so it ended up being a bit over. Still, I did hours of exercise today in the form of body pump and body combat, so hopefully that will cancel out.

Breakfast
2 boiled eggs and half an avacado

Lunch
Tuna salad

Dinner
Salmon and chicken in tomato sauce and brown rice

Snacks
A protein bar

Drinks
3 teas
3 orange squashes

Today went well enough. I was quite sore from yesterday, so I did go to the gym but it was only a 45 minute body conditioning class so it won't have burned many calories. Still, better than sitting on my bum!

Today was pretty much bang on for calories :) it would have been slightly under, but when boyfriend asked me to make him a brew and a biscuit I couldn't resist having one myself!

Breakfast
A pear

Lunch
Chicken and veg soup and some chicken bites

Dinner
Salmon and chicken Thai curry

Snacks
A protein shake
A biscuit

Drinks
3 teas
500ml water
3 orange squashes

Lesson learned: going to the hairdresser's is a bad idea before dinner time!

The appointment wasn't over until nearly 8pm, so for the last half an hour we were just chatting about good places in the city centre to eat and drink. I was ravenous, so I ended up buying microwave quinoa just so I wouldn't have to wait to cook rice.

Breakfast
A protein shake

Lunch
2 boiled eggs, half an avacado and chicken bites

Dinner
Sea bass curry with quinoa and a bit of naan bread

Drinks
3 teas
1.4l water
A cobra beer

Pop a little zip-lock bag of 10 raw almonds (70 cals) into your handbag, to get you through until meal times. It has saved me on many an occasion.

Ooh thank you - that's such a good idea! I never think to buy nuts even though I do like them, so will try get into the habit.

So I wasn't going to make a big deal out of this, but you may have noticed that every single weekday my drinks are the same. 3 teas and 3 orange squashes. I don't really do it on purpose. I prefer my caffeine in the morning and then I move onto flavoured water in the afternoon.

I made the decision yesterday to set myself a challenge of drinking 2 litres of water. I'm hoping it should help with the weight loss as well improve my skin. It took less than a day for my colleagues to notice. They looked at me in actual horror that I had picked something other than my usual. Goes to show how much I could do with a change, colleagues having nightmares aside :p

Today went fairly well :) it was a different instructor for boot camp and it bloody killed me! Still managed to stay for body pump, so I'm happy with that. Below is the food diary:

Breakfast
Protein smoothie

Lunch
Chicken salad

Dinner
Thai sweet chilli chicken with veg

Drinks
3 teas
1 orange squash
Nearly 2 litres of water

Great work! Drinking more water sounds like an excellent idea that can easily save 200 calories a day. Which may not look like a lot on paper but with the low amount of calories you´re consuming having a couple extra for actual food can make a huge difference.

It really does make a difference. I went out with friends last Saturday for drinks and food and felt satisfied much earlier than I usually do, so I will be keeping up with it.

Overall the weekend/Monday went fairly well. I've noticed that even when I'm within calories, I'm starting to want less treats like cake or alcohol because of the effect it will have on the macros. Hopefully this will be the start to ingrained habits :)

Saying that I did eat cake today! It wasn't even that nice, so wish I didn't have it. Think I will have to remind myself of this picture next time I want one:

Drinking more water makes a huge difference. I'm back to taking a water bottle with me everywhere I go. You also feel so much better when you are well-hydrated. You are doing very well DA101. Definitely firming up some very good habits :)

Another progress update 33.5-26-38 measurements and 9 stone 7 1/2 pounds. That makes 1 1/2 pounds and 1 inch down.

Been very busy over the last week! Not much of a diet over the weekend, but doesn’t seem to have ruined it luckily. My gym offers a body MOT, so I had all sorts of tests done last Friday. I was pleasantly surprised with the results. I scored 89/100, which apparently just about puts me in the top 10% of people for health. Will post the more detailed results later :)

26" waist? WOW!
Well done on 89/100. That is awesome :D

Thanks guys! :)

Last week wasn’t great. First thing that started to slip was the exercise. I still did 5X45 min classes, but they felt HARD. Within a few minutes I could feel a load of lactic acid in my legs, which really slowed me down. I’m not entirely sure why though. I can tell I’ve exercised the following day, but I’m never in loads of pain. My boyfriend reckons that I’m not letting myself rest, but I’m not sure since I don’t feel completely exhausted after exercise or anything.

Shortly after that happened, the diet went. I picked up my new car on Saturday, so I went out with my family for a mini day out to celebrate. We ended up at the pub (I wasn’t driving at this point!) and I tried to pick healthy, but it wasn’t really. Later on that night my boyfriend suggested we had a takeaway, which I agreed to. Again, tried to be healthy with grilled chicken, but the portion was enormous.

I have to admit it was nice to eat for pleasure rather than eating until I’m out of calories. Never really considered myself an emotional eater, but spose that is a habit I have now recognised in myself.

Still, the last 3 days have been good. I have 2 more days until I finish my job and go on holiday, so exciting times ahead!
