Time to stick with it!!

Wow --thanks for the dress pic - it's stunning!

That's too bad about the 7 pounds -- maybe some of it is water from eating especially salty foods over the holidays. It sounds like you have a good plan in place to lose it. You can do it!

VERRRRY pretty dress. Verrrrry jealous, too, lol! I second everyones comments: You've made it soooo far, don't get discouraged by what's already happened. It'll just eff things up for you even more. Have a good one!

What a pretty dress CB!

Also, I agree about the 7 pounds. Just eat normal and drink water.
It will come off on its own because you arent eating chocolates and heavy christmas meals.

Thanks everyone for your comments while I was away! Very nice to see all the support from everyone! Don't worry I'm not stressing about the weight gain - I still feel very good about the way I am looking and feeling these days. I also feel very confident I will get the weight off - eventually! I didn't do as good over the weekend as I hoped but I am back to work and back to routine - just the way I like it! I actually got bored of watching tv and lying around the house yesterday and couldn't wait to get back.
Here's a little update of what I've been up to:
Wednesday 30th - Friend's wedding - it was so much fun and we danced a lot! The dinner was a sit down meal so I didn't over do it like I would have at a buffet. I did drink a lot but not too much that I felt really sick the next day.
Thursday 31st - woke up late and lied around pretty much all day. We went out for dinner and I ordered this delicious pasta dinner and then we went home to watch a movie and celebrate our 3 year anniversary - we also ate a bag of nachos with taco dip - I had a couple drinks but not a ton.
Oh btw I woke up the day of the wedding with a tickle in my throat and ended up gettting a really annoying cold that is just starting to go away today.
Friday 1st - still really lazy however me and the hunnie did some at home work outs - no not that kind - we actually used our work out room and used the bike, some free weights and did some lunges and squats for about 30 minutes! My hunnie said he wants to start exercising in the new year so that is great news for me! Ate ok but not great.
Saturday 2nd - really sick with the cold today and didn't get out of bed until 2pm - was supposed to meet my friend at the gym but had to cancel. We had invited friends over to play poker so I took a bunch of cold medicine but it didn't really help and I felt bad coughing and sneezing all over the table and cards so I went to bed early.
Sunday 3rd - woke up early to meet my friend at the gym - couldn't cancel two days in a row. The gym was packed on a Sunday at 9:30am! I couldn't believe it. I did 15 minutes on the treadmill and then we did a class called rock bottom - it was all about the booty and legs and lots of lunges, squats and dead lifts. My lower back was sore the next day and quads but I really liked the class and hope to do it every Sunday. Ate ok again but not great - too much snacking when I should have been sleeping.
Monday 4th - slept in again (boy I got a lot of sleep over the last week!), went to return our empties from the holidays and got back $54 so that was good news. Did some grocery shopping finally and have some healthy stuff around again! Went to the gym and did 25 min on the elyptical and then a 20-20-20 class with the stepper, weights and abs - it was great and I was sweating buckets!
My friend who was ditching me last year at the gym lots is really motivated and her friend too so I think that will give me an extra push. Tonight we plan to do a 30min spinning class followed by an hour class called power barbells - I'm really excited for this one so I will let you know tomorrow how that goes.
I have been a little stressed out lately because my hunnie got laid off and it is going to take 13 weeks for his unemployment to kick in so we will be on a tight budget for the next little bit which means I have to stop going to WW. I was so close to my goal and then gained so it is going to take me a while to get back there and too much money that we just can't afford. At least I get to keep my gym membership so I am just going to have to do it on my own. I might get my friend to weigh me once a week just to stay honest with myself. I know what I have to do it's just a matter of getting it done! The exercise is on track just got to get the snacking under control. I have some pics from the wedding I would like to show - I felt really pretty and good about the way I looked - I even took off my sweater and wore something showing my arms for a part of the night which was unheard of from me - I called my mom the next day to tell her and she was so proud. It's a big step for me! Hope everyone had a great New Year - from the sounds of things we are all ready for 2010! Let's kick butt!

Forgot to attach the pics! Ok I also added the one of the dress I wore to my shag however that was when I was just at home trying it on - so I didn't look like that but you get the idea. Still waiting for the befores to be scanned but I'll put one up that I did before just for comparison.

LOVE your positive energy... I've missed it!!! Sorry to hear about your man's layoff, it's tough this time of year, but sounds like you've got a good plan in place. Do they have a scale at the gym? I know you have to leave your clothes on (;) ) but it could still be a good reference for you.

So glad you're back. 2010 is gonna be great!!!
Marie

Yay for updates! You look great :D :D Glad to see you jumped right back into the gym too! That's too bad that your man is laid off :( Mine is too... and it's taking forever for him to get his unemployment checks... I actually had to borrow him $250 today so he can make his truck payment. I hope that is the only time I'll have to do that! At least you got a great start with Weight Watchers! I think you could handle it the rest of the way without it anyhow :) Keep it up!!!

Thanks Sarah and Marie - I missed you both!!
Yes they have a scale at the gym so I think I will use it once a week to track. Getting laid off sucks and we are going to have to find a better solution to handling the winters if I ever want to have kids - we could not afford that with both of us off! I sold some shares this morning so I will have some money for my trip so that eased off some stress. Also I got a pedometer for xmas so I started keeping track of my steps yesterday and am going to aim for at least 10,000 a day again! Yesterday was 11,029 steps - today might be less because of spinning but I should have some time for the treadmill too. I have been reading some diaries and getting really motivated again. Can't wait to kick some butt at the gym tonight and I am getting my teeth cleaned at the dentist too so I get to leave work early - I'm finding it really hard to get any work done today because there are so many new diaries to read.

Wow Lisa!!! You look Fantastic woman!!! :cheers2:!! I am SO PROUD OF YOU!!! Keep up the great work!! No wonder your friends are motivated! I am!! haha!

...Sorry about your hunnie and the job situation. :( Soon things will be back to normal and flowing again! Glad that you get to keep your gym membership though!

...And those classes sound FUN!!! I wish that I could catch a class here and there, but at least I have tons of them on DVD! Not quite the same though...Kettle Ball!! NICE!

...That pedometer sounds like the PLAN!!!...I should get mine out too...knock the Dust off that thing! :D! I wonder how many miles a day constitues 10,000 steps?

Great Job for so many steps yesterday!!! :D!! Woop Woop!!! 2010!!!!!!!! And cheers to Routine!!!

According to most online charts I've seen:
1 mile is about 2,000 steps, so 10,000 = around 5 miles

Sounds like you are off to a great start in the new year. Keep up with all of those classes and exercising and you will see more results for sure. I like your pics, you are very pretty. My favorite is the one with the red, white and black dress. Looking good. :)

Mine too!! I like the Red one a lot!! :D!!!

You look great Lisa!!!!! My husband got fired from his job in September so I know how you feel. The company he worked for is so terrible, instead of laying people off (they didn't want to pay unemployment) they fired 70 employees. Not to meantion we have 3 kids at home that the company could care less about. So I know things can get hard So I am very thankful to have my glider at home to work out on and I can go to the local high school gym because I am an employee at the board of education. So I am glad you are able to keep your gym memembership bc the different classes you attend sound so fun. Keep up the good work. I know you can do it. Don't worry about the little weight gain. You are still so close to your goal. Think about how far you have come.

Thanks Alta, Derrick, Addiecakes & Mrskt!
Such nice comments that really made me smile this morning. Sounds like I'm not the only bread winner of the bunch.
Oh and Sarah - the comment you left about how I wrote in your journal that I couldn't imagine being in the 140's was so motivating - thanks for going back and reminding me of my words - that really meant a lot. I know I will be back there soon enough.
So yesterday started off good and the gym was great and then I ruined it all again by snacking after 9pm - I didn't even have that bad of snacks just a lot of PB and jam on crackers and a few too many bites of left over spagetti after I already had dinner, here's how it looked:
B- ff yogurt & all bran buds
S - 1 cup red grapes
L - big veggie salad w ff dressing
S - two cups mint green tea
S - I had an apple packed to eat after the dentist on my way to the gym and it fell out of my purse and rolled under someone's vehicle and I knew I needed something before my big workout so I went to Tims and got a bbq chicken snack wrap - only 4 WW points but more than my apple would have been.
Exercise - 20 min treadmill ( just fast walking at 4.2 mph and incline 5 - I'm still too giggly to run and it hurts), 30 min spinning class, 1 hr power barbell class - this was really awesome, we did lots of strength training with barbells, hand weights & resistance bands - I'm feeling it today!
D - big bowl home made cabbage soup w 2 pieces WW bread w margarine (only 1 point for two pieces plus 2 points for the margarine).
S #1 - This one was ok and I should have stopped at it - 20 mini pretzels dipped in sugar free chocolate pudding - yumm!
But that just got me going and the PB and Jam came out with crackers and then my hunnie came in from jamming and heated up left over spagetti and I couldn't resist a few too many bites.
I know this is much better than what I was eating over the holidays but I was watching Biggest Loser and should have had the control to say "ok Lisa you are not hungry and don't need to mindlessly eat" but that didn't happen.
total steps 10130
Oh well today is a new day and again I have packed my healthy lunch and I'm not getting down! I can't wait to get back to the gym after work. My friend that meets me is too sore to go today so she is taking a day off but I am going to try and run again on the treadmill - maybe even just 1 mile to start off slow. There are a couple classes I haven't taken that I might try out - I'll let you know tomorrow what I decided. Hopefully tonight I will be able to resist :reddevil:

Lisa, that wasn't that bad! You're whole day of eating sounds pretty good, and oh well, a few bites of Spaghetti slipped past you! No worries, you worked hard at the gym! :D!!

..Yesterday was the first day I saw Biggest Loser and I was SO INSPIRED!!!! :D!!! OMG..those people are AMAZING and the second they get there ther are doing such exercises I thought they would have died doing!!! I wanted to get off my ass and run to the gym after my workouts again, but I had a lot of goal planning to do so I couldn't...but man, I'm definitely putting that show on TEVO!!! & next time, I'm working out while I watch that show!

Lucky thing is that it did keep me from snacking. hahah!..Day by Day!

Hey Lisa! Happy New Year!

Thank you for writing on my dairy, it was good to hear from you! I'm sorry that your scale wasn't so good to you, but I love your positive attitude, your going to take it off plus more in no time, I think we both know that, your such a stong and determined person! You looked beautiful in your dresses, your body is looking amazing! What a transformation! I am happy that we are both back to our diaries and back to eating well and working out, this year will definitly be our year of sucess and reaching our goals.

It's going to take some time for all of us to get over the night snacking again... but remember, you're working out very hard and your body may be asking for more!! You may want to schedule in that early evening snack so that you have something healthy planned and don't have to feel the guilt.

You look so beautiful in your pics Lisa :D I love both dresses!!!
Marie

You are doing great with your workouts. The snacking will go away eventually! Just gotta find your groove again! I think your weigh in will go good tomorrow - mine... well, I'd rather just skip it. Hmph......
