Time to lose weight!

Still going good. going to keep at it I'm going to measure my waist every week and once it's a bit smaller I'll see what the scales say :) I feel like I won't like to see my weight until I know it'll be less. if it's still the same after 2 weeks I'll be swearing a lot. So, just No haha. Bought some nice clothes anyway. 2 dresses? Or are they long tops? I'm tall so thought I'd wear them as tunics or shirts, even though it says peasant dress on the tag. Well whatever I bought I tried it on and thought it looked alright!

Finally have some progress! I joined here nearly 3 months ago and I've suddenly lost 1 inch off my waist :) Didn't take any other measurements :/ so I can't say about the rest of me. Think I look a tiny bit smaller anyway :) Plan to check my weight once I've lost 3 inches from my waist. Don't think it's ever taken this long to lose weight, still it's a start. I'm recording all my food intake, it's not under 2000 calories very often. It's like I'm eating just a little bit too much. Think my walks are helping. Going to try for 2 hikes a week if the weather will let me. Keep up my little walks in almost any weather too :) Hoping in a few weeks I can hit the pool. It's stupid but I don't really want to swim until I'm a bit thinner :/ Swimming will make me look bigger before it makes me smaller, so good for body and mind though. September I'll return to the pool. Never known people at the pool to be judgey anyway, should be fine.

All I can think about is carbs lol. Pasta in particular. Haven't had a vegetarian spaghetti, like a proper one since forever. I used to put lots of zucchini in and tomato pesto and top it with cheese. I'm too lazy to even shop for all that. Good thing maybe. I can't find the food guide the dietitian gave me. Something about more protein and vegetables... Going to try not to fail at shopping.

Lost the plot a bit, birthdays, restaurants, not feeling well and stuff :/ So the only good thing is I'm managing to keep my weight stable and not gain weight. I'm pretty stressed out, extremely stressed out. I can't deal with focusing on dieting. it tends to make me want everything I shouldn't have. I'm doing good at cutting back on junk foods and adding more salad. I know Spring can be a tricky time to lose weight, I'm still trying. Think things are starting to get back in balance and metabolism is working. Lots of exercise is a big help. I'll be back when I'm mentally/emotionally more stable. I just want to feel good about myself and my body and my pretty clothes to fit again :)

Thanks for letting us know Charlotte. It is so much easier said than done, but trying to find ways to get yours stress under control is very important, for more than the obvious reasons. Put simply-
"Levels of "the stress hormone," cortisol, rise during tension-filled times. This can turn your overeating into a habit. Because increased levels of the hormone also help cause higher insulin levels, your blood sugar drops and you crave sugary, fatty foods."
You have done well Charlotte to maintain your weight under such stress. Look after yourself hon xoxo

So I didn't have much progress, only stability. I have started eating less and eating healthier foods. Don't weigh myself because I'm the sort of person who gets obsessed with stuff like that and perfectionism. So I'm just trying to be moderate :) I do measure myself and have lost 2 inches from my stomach and 1 inch from my hips. I would like to lose 4 more inches from my waist for starters. That would see me in the healthy weight zone again too. So, yeh. Hopefully I can keep this up :) Good luck to anyone struggling with this. My best advice would be to buy the nice healthy food even if it is 4 times more expensive, especially if you are doing this for your health. Drink lots of water too. That's all I got :)

Hi, Charlotte. Stability is good & losing inches off your waist especially is excellent. :iagree: with you about eating healthy food & drinking water. Our health is our wealth xo

Can't remember when I checked in last. Have lost a few inches, 3 off my hips, 3 off my waist, 2 off my bust. If I can do yhis same thing twice more, my work will be done. Have been eating lots of veggies and cut right down on bread.

It's getting harder. Craving bread a lot. And pasta. God help me. What I do now is I don't keep bread in the house. I am allowed to have sandwiches and cheese rolls etc, only when I'm out so that I can only have one serving. I don't keep sweets or snacks around. Soup is good. Veggies are great. Sticking to meals and not snacking is something I have to get used to. If I can keep going with this, slowly surely I'll go back to normal size. I'll possibly avoid a few health hazards too. So gotta keep on...

Just called in to say hello and cheer you on. Well done for those measurement reductions:party:

I know what you mean about bread. I stopped having bread in the house on my big project and have only just today decided that I am going to keep a serious eye on all bread... I cannot ban it from the house any more as other people want it.

I would have thought that snacks like fruit, raw veg sticks and sugar free jelly would be ok for you. I've never been able to keep to "no snacks at all!.

Anyway - keep on going - your doing great. :hurray:

Hi, Charlotte. Well done on the inches lost hon. Cutting down on bread & other starchy carbs works well for me too. I would like to try for a week without to see how I go. Perhaps I'll have a no bread, pasta or white potato challenge for a week in April. Maybe the last week in April. Will you be in it?

Hi Cate :) I'd try for no bread or pasta. Being a vegetarian I'd keep my potatoes :) Had broccoli for breakfast today. Who does that? Me I guess. I'm being good during the week, during the weekend if I'm eating with friends, I just eat whatever they eat except a little bit less of it. I've noticed some of my thin friends skip a lot of meals and keep going on chocolate and sugary things, assholes. I don't feel full after a chocolate bar. I need meals and salt and spices.

Oh another thing I do is only buy one serve of snacks if I'm out. If there's a whole packet of something, I'll eat it. So I only buy 1 serve at a time. So far I've never ate a whole bunch of bananas so I can have a banana or apple :)
