Do you think that since you've been working out so much this past week you could have gained some muscle? I think that on your weigh in day it will be different. You've been doing an amazing job! How are your clothes fitting? I bet you look awesome! How old is your scale? I know there's nothing I can say but keep on with your exercise! Even if you don't see a loss this week keep going! Hope you see a different number on the scale today... we're here for you if you need us. :)

I would HOPE that is what it is, but I read on one of Steve's posts that you can't gain muscle when you are in a caloric deficit. Now I know that he has said not to take his word as law, but this one happens to make a lot of sense to me. I can't really tell about my clothes because I wear them everyday, know what I mean? The changes are gradual and would be more noticeable to someone who had not seen me in a while.

Thanks so much for your support. As you can see, I have not made too many friends on here yet, so I really value the ones of you that keep coming by to check on me. Sometimes your support lifts me up just enough to challenge me to keep going even when things really suck. (Like gaining a pound in a week and then gaining four mysterious pound in three days...ugh)

Don't worry, I won't give up.:)

Hey Girl!
You're definitely doing fine, DON'T stress!! Your weigh in day will be different and as said above...you're working on a healthier you! So good work!! I've been exercising every day for 2 weeks and eating healthier and I haven't dropped a single pound...

You just need to stay positive :D

I am SO frustrated! I have been working out so well and eaing the amount of cals I am supposed to and I have GAINED 4 lbs.!! WHAT???!!!??? It is not my official weigh in day, BUT WHO CARES...I should NOT have gained 4 lbs!!

Can someone pass me the tissues...I think I might cry.:(
Better yet, pass me a hammer so I can SMASH that STINKING scale. The aggression would be an extra workout. *sigh* What's a girl to do?

Aaawww honey - time of month puts alot of wmn up - water retention, if you've eaten things igher in sodium...also your workin it with that elliptical...it is a new form of exercise and if youa re using it regularly and are exercising more than before your body is gaining muscel...it will come off - when I use to exercise like crazy i would have gains before a big loss...you cant just gain 4 lbs if you are eating your regular cal intake...even indulging, there is no way...*HUGS* Try not to let it bring you down...

Oh and thanx for all your support and info :):):)

Well, I am still working out. I know if I keep it up eventually those stubborn pounds will burn away.

I rode 30 minutes last night and 30 minutes again this morning. I am really enjoying this elliptical. (I can watch TV and sweat at the same time;)) I don't feel overwhelmed and have actually started looking forward to doing it. According to the electronic part, I usually burn about 250-300 cals, so I think that is reasonable.

I will more than likely do another 25-30 minutes tonight.

Thank you for your support, too. I am feeling a little better this morning. It is hard for me to know when TOM is because I don't technically have one anymore. I had a partial hysterectomy when I was 25. BUT- I still have the hormones and things so it is possible that it is that. I sure hope you are right about seeing a gain right before a big loss. I may hurt myself doing my "I lost weight dance". The dangerous part is that I weigh myself in the buff, so this dance is done naked...someone could get hurt:p

Ha Ha Ha - I do as well...another thing with the weight - shake up your routine - you may actuaklly need to eat mor eif you are doing 30 - 60 mins of exercise a day - do you use sparks ro fitday or anything...

I have a physical job and am very active but I usually base everything off of 30 mins of exercise a day onto of work and when i was doing that they wanted mer to up my cals as high as 1750 when I started eating that or more it made me start loosing...but do something diff with your routine...eat more one day or up your cals for a week and see what happens...take an exercise break or doing something dfferent - you can still Ellipical but do something else as well...do you weight every morning - I suggest it - you can monitor your weighjt and see the oz go down daily...just a thought...

Yes, I weigh every morning. It seems to help keep me on track. My scale does not tell oz.'s though. It is not old, but it is crazy. I can weigh myself five times right in a row and get a different reading every time. I usually either only let myself get on once, or I weigh several times and take the average. I need a good new scale that reads in ounces. What kind do you have?
Yes, I use fitday, but not very faithfully for the last fes days. Maybe to shake up my routine, I should go back to doing my pilates/yoga in the evening for a few days. Thanks for the advice:) I will give it a try.

Ya use the Elliptical but along with something else or go to fitday to revise your plan since you started with eh Elliptical I bet you need to eat more - you need fuel to burn fuel - the more you work out the more you are going to need to eat...I lodst my train if thought lol...Oh scale - I bought a weight watchers one - the cheaper one that weighs in oz I love it nad even though it killed me to pay 40 bucks for it I am glad I did...i think oz are important especially if you weigh daily then you see it is coming off...

Morning Tif, You know Cinderelly is right, you need that fuel to burn fuel. But, you just need to hang in there, only weigh yourself once a week, I think your syking yourself out by weighing everyday, I can say that from PAST experience. After I had my sons I was obsessed with getting the weight off, I weighed in EVERYDAY and if I didn't see the scale go down I cut back the next day in calories, it got so bad after a month I had lost 30 lbs, not from exercising but from not eating. That was the first time in my life I can honestly say I was on my way to having a serious eating disorder. But, I quickly snapped out of it and got back in shape and QUIT weighing in everyday, I'm telling you it does no good. Try for a couple weeks just weighing in ONCE a week, pick a Sunday or A Monday and see how you feel then. I think you might be surprised. And I agree you may need to get a better scale, it shouldn't be changing everytime you get on there if it's in the same day. LOL Keep up the workouts and eat well, which I know you do. You WILL start to see the loss, take your time. I'm right here with you. One pound at a time. I feel the same way you do, I want it off and now, but days go by pretty fast, before you know we both will have lost another 10 lbs. Don't get discouraged!
Kim:)

Tiff.... the 4lbs could be water weight and maybe you gotta go potty.... (sorry, but its true). Food could be sitting in your tummy from the night before.. All sorts of reasons. Weigh again later, and just count the lowest weight. If you're watching what you're eating and walking etc I'm sure the lowest is the correct one.

just thought id let you know tiff... I got some healthy choice personal pizzas for a total of 370 calories each. Gonna eat on for dinner tonight. I'll let you know how it is ;)

WARNING: Whiney and annoying self vent ahead....

What in the world is the matter with you??! Do you know what you did today?? You drank FOUR cans of regular Pepsi! FOUR! You have been busting my butt on the elliptical and you were so stressed out about having gained pounds back. THEN- you weighed this morning and was back down to where you were last Monday and what did you do?? Drank Pepsi. YEAH-that makes sense, Tiffany. UGH....now the sugar has me feeling ill and the guilt doesn't feel so hot either. Get your act together--or else.

I told y'all that it was a self vent and that it was whiney. Now I can get back to being chipper. Tomorrow is a new day....again.:D

start afresh tomorow huni
maybe you should write down how many calories a can/two cans of pepsi contains and then write next to it a meal or the amount of fruit you could eat to give you the same amount of calories. then stick it on your fridge.
