C'mon over and grab a snow shovel, I get you a whole new kinda burn out :ack2:

Anyway, good luck on the house prospect.
You will be pleased to note i figured since cycling wasnt happening any more for whatever reason (fancy loosing interest in such a fucking awesome summer!), Ive signed on to do a half marathon.
Its in about 2 months, and ive only just started :O
we will see how it goes anyway! Ive been jogging to and from work everyday which is about 30 mins each way.

good luck with the house :)

btw i saw your photos they're great...you really have a good eye..and your kids look adorable :)
Thanks! Its been fun taking photos whilst walking. Gives me some added walking time and exercise :)

Half marathon, huh?

Best to you! A change of pace is good.
Yeah, its hurting. I can cycle 160km on a bike, but im in agony after jogging 3km to work every day for 3 days :)
Taking a couple days off for muscle recovery then doing another longer run sunday.

At least i have the cardio so im not tired or winded, just geting the muscles up to par without getting shin splints or other injuries is my main goal :)

Hopefully giving my boss a run for his money!

Hey Wishes
Checked out your Flickr photos, they are great! You look so good, and you look like a very loving family.

Sounds like most everyone put on a few lbs over the holidays :toetap05: including myself, so it's good that we are all back on board.

Best of luck in the 1/2 marathon! Too cool. I think it is high time for me to change my exercise routine, according to my lack of progress over the last half year.

Here's to ya:beerchug:

Hmm indeed thats pretty much it in a nutshell. Changing things again - finding the new "normal"

Last week i did about 3 or so 20 min runs just to get the muscles into gear - it hurt because i wasnt used to using them.
This week im doing more and did 50 mins solid running this morning (6.5kms).
Ill see how i feel about that in a day or two - cardio is fine muscles need to gear up more :)

wow, your still an excersizing force to be reconed with huh??? Just think of all that gas money your saving, lol!!

I often think my body isn't built for long distance running. My cardio conditioning can be great... to the point I don't get winded. My leg muscles though... they don't catch up well. They're endurance sucks! Which I suppose makes some sense considering I was a sprinter and I'm still fast. I think I have much more fast twitch fibers compared to slow twitch.

Needless to say, I will not be running any marathons.

Liz, I have got to say that I am mighty impressed. You hadn't started the couch to 5k not all that long ago really. (if my memory serves me right)

Damn, I never even made it beyond 5k. I stopped in summer after some I hurt my knees a bit (not running, just being a moron). I never got started again. I don't think I have it in me to start over.

I am very impressed and very jealous. Watch out you just might motivate me yet...

I dunno, My cardio is great im just getting frustrated waiting for the leg muscles to catch up. Its hard holding back and NOT pushing as hard as i would. As it is im borderline with the amount im doing. Started last week doing 3km to work and sometimes back. This was to get over the initial sore muscle phase.
This week im doing 6.5km and im not tired at all after doing that, nor sore. My main worry is shin splints, and doing too much too fast. Im sticking to off the road (grass verges etc) and Running every second day, then taking the weekend off.
The marathon is 20km and hilly, so i figure if i can comfortably do 15km before then i should be fine for the 20km.

Lol, i said it, i never did it, and that must have been nearly 9 months to a year ago at least! :)
the couch to 5k was way to slow for me, screw waiting 12 weeks to do something i can do in 2! My main prob now is making sure i stay injury free.

So this week ive done 3x 6.5km, i think ill stick with that for next week also before i up it again.

Got my fingers crossed for you. You must be feeling pretty pumped about making the change from week 1 to week 2 so nicely.

ive had a bit of a sore foot so investing in some good shoes this week. Until then ill just stick to the 6.5km 3 times this week. Not gonna risk being injured if i can help it :)

awww I posted some pics of my tanline sometime right after the Lake Taupo Cycle race, but i cant find them anywhere!
They seem to have disappeared off my diary and i know im sure i posted them on T2_Truckers too, but they are gone!
The race was on the Nove 28th or 29th or something, and i posted them within a week or two of that, and ive been through every diary and still no luck.
I looked at my photo backups , looked at everything i have and no go :(

If anyone can find the pic which was posted of my legs and tanline, i will love you forever! :O

okau update, T2 found me my tanline pic, competition entered :)
Dont think ill win but you never know!

Heres a funny thing i saw in the news paper ...
Q. Why are bike seats are so narrow and uncomfortable and seemingly designed to cause maximum discomfort to the nether regions of both male and female.... ?
A. the design of the cycle seats is for safety reasons. "Cyclists often need to suddenly brake and loudly warn motorists who haven't seen them. The shape of the bike seat in conjunction with the sudden forward motion of the cyclist, under severe braking, allows the rider immediate access to a very high tone of voice essential for ensuring clear delivery of chosen warning language to vehicle drivers."
