hmm okay

Got the results back from the nutritionist. according to the Yuhasz equation and calipers, i am 19.5% body fat.

wtf?! 179.8 and 19.5% body fat? thats a crapload of muscle! :O

Now to be fair she did say that it often under estimates the bodyfat % ... but thats a serious difference from 36% :O

having found the equation online i did the numbers myself and it comes to 24.5% bodyfat - perhaps her math is bad?

I think 24.5% is more likely - im hardly underweight - i still have a fair bit on the hips waist and ass as well as upper thigh.

And i did start the cycling when i was at the beginning on the diet, and i was over 230lb when i did my first 40km race :)

Hello,Yes I know Tammy I am her friend, neighbor, babysitter and
I hop on her computer hope it's not a problem that I have an
account here from the same computer?I should get one soon as
I catch up financially. You have lost a ton of weight and you have gone through lot's of changes and I must say the picture
you have now fit's you perfect.

Oh hey Hannah, its no problem at all. The more the merrier so long as you're not spamming :D
You just got an extra special welcome because you have friends in the right places lol :D

So i did a race yesterday, 50km, i opted for the short one (the other one was 80km) because i hadnt ridden in a month or done anything like it.
It absolutly pissed down at 5am with gale force high winds, and at 6am when i got up it was dead calm, so i cycled to my mates and we all carpooled down (about a 2 hour drive away).
it started raining again on the way down, and just after we signed up it started pouring and again gale force winds. I think at that point i saiw 'man im so not gonna ride in this' as did a few others. Then i thought 'what the heck, i brought spare clothes and a towel! im gonna do it'
So cycled out in the pouring rain to the start line with about 50 other hard asses that decided to do it.
Anyway The rain stopped, the wind disappeared and then the horn went and we cycled. Nice flat ride, some lovely headwinds at places which slowed me down a bit, and only 1 breif shower towards the end.
I wasnt even really wet when i got back except for my butt which had water flicked off the wheel. There are 3 races in this series, hopefully the next 2 will have fine weather :)

It's terrific that the ride worked out for you wishes. It's always great when the payoff for some extra determination comes immediately!! I bet it was a great feeling to get to the finish!

When are the next races?

WOW almost in the 170's eh,I am so jealous lol I used to be there
and I miss it so much I am on my way tho so I'll meet ya there.
Congrats on all that biking it has done wonders for ya.Tammy

Hey that's great that you went ahead and raced anyway and the weather worked out OK. You've done a lot with the whole cycling thing, that's for sure.

Oh im in the 170s lol - im just slack updating the ticker :/
But only just into the 170s iirc. Ive pretty much given up weighing in. im happy with were im at, and im still loosing just not anything like i was before. And im fine with that anyway. Now im well under my goal weight im pretty happy with everything - ive even given up using fitday and i do it in my head (which i did anyway most of the time then added it in the next day).
Im eating a more "normal" amount now also, rather than the 1200-1500 calories, its closer to the 2000 mark.

Far out wishes. Could you imagine letting your ticker sit more than 9 pounds over your real weight when you started this process!!? It's great that you're feeling so relaxed and yet still on track with your changes. Will your next race be much different to what you just did?

Oops, I must have misread it! I thought it was showing the high 180's. Though how?? I did check it several times! Sorry.

hehe no worries

Coach (John) one of the group i ride with posted pics on the website.
have a nosey at me in the pics here

im the one in an orange jacket - its weird , i didnt recognize myself when i first looked at the pic

Wowee wishes for someone in a jacket you are looking SKINNY!! Maybe you didn't recognize yourself cos your mental image is lagging the way I thought your ticker was!! :D

Maybe that superlow bodyfat % was right after all. :)

Nice story. :)

Yay on the mental image lagg lol - i still go to shops and pick up clothes my size and look at them and put them back thinking they wont fit, then pick them up and force myself to try them on.
Its funny, shopping used to make me so depressed, now its the opposite! :D

omg. I just saw your pictures. Amazing!

Thank you :D
Still some fat about, but not a lot, and im happy the way i am actually so if i go lower ill be even happier, but im fine if i dont.
Its kind of funny because i when i was bigger going smaller my goal was to originally get to one of those stick thin looking models, lol, now ... you gotta be joking :D

Im enjoying eating those few extra calories again, having larger/more often meals. the occasional treats.

On another note - PT changed the routine this week. Now im all on free weights. My arms and legs are killing me!

You are NARROW in that picture of you in the orange jacket.

Okay, so I've been slack with fitday for a while now. BUt you've given me an idea to post it later, just write down what I eat as I go through the day and enter it in the evening.

Congratulations on hitting the 170s. You look way more toned than I from all your hard work. YOu have worked so hard.

When I first joined the forum I tried to eat as little as possible and I never once could get under 1700 calories, I was insanely hungry, so my determining factor became "as little as I can possibly eat" and that happened to be around 2000, then I started to follow Steve's formula.

I know you said you filled up on low calorie foods and got more volume that way. Anyway, you have done amazing, what a total change in you, you've become a competitive athlete.

What I"m saying is I think you made real sacrifices to lose.

Like here's a question for cycling. Tell me it builds muscle. I do not lift weights at the moment and am hoping that I am building muscle as I push myself on the bike. Hopefully then I'll burn more calories?
