Howdy Wishes,
Great PICS and story when it rains it pours maybe it felt good tho I was praying for it to rain on my walk home yesterday but NO luck.
Have a nice day

Sorry ive been slack coming on here. WOrk is going great guns - im getting a pay rise for all my efford which is super fantastic!

Like here's a question for cycling. Tell me it builds muscle. I do not lift weights at the moment and am hoping that I am building muscle as I push myself on the bike. Hopefully then I'll burn more calories?

Cycling burns calories lots, it doesnt really make a LOT of muscle. Look closely at how skinny most top level cyclist are.
I lift weights for muscle - muscle burns calories. I cycle to burn calories and also as a sport so i never get fat again. Ive had the pleasure of meeting a whole new set of friends and they are absolutly so friendly its amazing!

Oh thanks! i just hide the bad ones lol ... :D

Wishes, you truly are an inspiration. I was just looking at the pictures and reading the story. Talk about a transformation. You look amazing. I am sitting here in awe of you. Because I know how much hard work and sacrifice went into losing those 146.6 pounds.

I admire your hard work and dedication. Seeing that it can be done gives me hope that I too can accomplish it. Or at least be a little healthier.

Love the pics! Makes me tear up a little. It's been awesome watching the diehards accomplish much over the last year that I've been here. :)

Thanks for the compliments, its great hearing it over and over lol :D
Of course you can do it, you lost the first 20 didnt you? the rest is exactly the same as the first!
Just like skipping rope, the more you practice the better you get!
Then you get to the point where you are walking but your mind is still skipping rope and you instinctively bounce anyway :D

Haha i feel the same way when i see others getting to their goals lol. The last few lb are a hard bit though... as im sure you know lol.

I travelled far and wide down to cambridge. I saw thee wakaroc beast, and i slayeth it! (second race in the wakaroc winter series)

1h 26mins, 40km, avg speed 28.8km/ph,avg heart rate 99% (sitting at 105% several times for a distance lol)
Im SUPER happy with performance! Thats like my best ever ride, best avg speed, best everything!
I think i came about 4th or 5th out of the 40km's.

There was a group of about 4-5 of us at the front taking turns leading, couple of them dropped off so it was just me and 3 others, They lost me at about the 20km mark. I felt down, then gave self pep talk, then thought "what good is all the weight training ive done if i cant use it!" and started kicking ass. At that point my average speed was 26km/ph. So between then and the end i kept a decent 35km/ph up and down the rolling hills, caught up with those 3 ahead of me and over took 1 about 5kkm to go mark. Then at the very end a couple guys came out of nowhere to finish. Im not sure if they were with our ride or not so not sure on placings. But im super happy with my speeds
-----
just looked at the stats. Turns out there was a group ahead of us by 10 mins.

I was 16th overall, and 4th female

Wow!! :D :D
I was a bit worried about the HR thing actually. I consulted various people about it too. Apparently its "impossible" to maintain the level i did for as long as i did somehow ... maybe im broken or something ... felt fine too me! though i admit i felt a bit crook for a while.

 You've been doing the impossible.... Again!? :)

I hope you are going to get a cape.

Seriously, is anyone suggesting you could hurt yourself? Does the anomaly indicate that your resting heart rate is actually lower than you thought?

Really the slim looking, fit girl in the orange jacket - it's mind boggling that she started her bicycling looking like someone else. :)

:rotflmao: Love this! You rock Liz!!

well shit has happened :O

Van broke down on the way back from the race, luckily it happened near home. I got it towed to the mechanic but wasnt worried because it was under mechanical warrenty.

Turns out the mechanical warrenty expires on that exact day so there is some debate if its covered.
Now i have to PROOVE it broke down on that day amoung other things.
geez the shit that happens. Meanwhile ive had to cycle to work and cycle everywhere so at least im getting some exercise :/

If the van isnt covered by warrenty then im going to have to pay out about $2k to get it fixed :(

Very impressive ride, Wishes! 35 kph - wow, that's a great pace! And it's terrific you've got a group of people you can ride with, too. That's the one thing I'd like, but it's a lot harder with a 'bent -- they're not really accepted by the regular clubs. Oh well, I still have a great time riding on my own. One day I'll get up to 35 kph. The very best I've ever been able to do for 50 kilometers is 33 kph.

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW, who is this pretty gal?! :jump:

U look so small now wishes!!!! *stunned*

Happy that you made it so far. Sexy babe!! Your hubby's card must be cracking.... haha. :rotflmao:

lol, hubby is definatly enjoying himself more *grin*

Another race tomorrow - though not really a workout for me. My daughter is doing it with me so we will go at her pace.
its still 45km of hills though :)

Hey Wishes. Just catching up with whats gone on while I haven't been around. Sorry to hear about ya van! Good luck in the race though. :) xx

Terrific ride and awesome pics Wishes. Give 'em Hell on that warranty. I hate warranties for that very reason. The only time I was ever injured in my entire life was during the 2 month period when the insurance company screwed up as I transferred from my parents' coverage to my own.

Good luck with the ride, wishes.

How wonderful that your daughter is riding with you!! I hope that goes well tomorrow, and also that it's something you can repeat.
