OMG! OMG! OMG!
The coolest thing just happened!

We were clearing out the wardrobe to grab all the dress shirts of my husbands to bleech before the wedding next weekend. And he pulled out a coat hanger with a pair of white jeans.
I have no idea where they came from - they were never mine, maybe i bought them for somebody else and never gave them? or perhaps they were left at our place sometime or given to me.

No idea

Anyway, they are size 16 - and i said 'oh give them here, i might be able to fit into them now ...'
Sure enough! I FIT!!!
So here i am sitting in size 16 jeans, down from size 26 (US size 12 down from US size 22 i think)!

My belly hangs out a bit still - but f*&% they look fantastic! IM SO HAPPY!!!!!

*does a dance*

whoo hoooo this is wonderful!!! congratulations wishes, i can only imagine how that must feel like :) i'm just sure no food could ever give that kind of feeling. Lena

Thanks! Ill need it. Im starting to get nurvous.
On a better note, ive lost another 2.2lb/1kg since the other day - I think i loose a lot more when doing my weight training. Ill definatly stick with that!

Wooohoo W!! Congratulations!! Do we get pics?! :D;)
Haha I keep meaning to get more pics! arrg!
Ill take more pics today at the beach - i havnt updated my before/during for like 2 months :/

I have a cycling race tomorrow - 65km. I must have been the fattest entrant in the 65km event lol. But there were people who were skinny that LOOKED more unfit than i.

Normally you get given a race pack when you enter a race, it has a bunch of fancy bars that companies advertise, some bike stuff, and general stuff that bikers will get into.

SO i got my race bag and thought 'wooo what goodies are we getting this time!'

Just because its a womans race does NOT mean we all want 3 different types of friggen tampons, a bunch of various moisterizers, a bunch of makeup removers and coupons for more!

The only thing of value was the pedometer - of which i already have one the same that i dont use already :/

I bought some 'natural' musili bars for eating whilst cycling to keep up the energy. they are 100kcal each , and i had to hunt for the ones with carbs and not fat, it was just silly! why would you take something as good as oats and fruit and cover it with chocolate, iceing, and sugar?

ooookay i got a spare tyre and a new camelpak (backpack with 3L water reservoir).

Got my bike, got my gear, got my food, oh crap - where did i leave my nerves :O

Im crapping myself as always. I just have to focus on 'it doesnt matter if you dont win, you're doing this to prove to yourself you can' mantra to calm myself so ill get some sleep.

Dunno if ill post again till after the race - wish me luck!

goood luck!!!
i love my camelback bag - its an absolute lifesaver when im doing long distance races :)
anyway you'll be fine - youve done enough training .. and think of the weight loss and stepping on those scales when youve finished!!!!!

Hey Wishes,

A little nervous is okay, I am sure when you are out on the road treading away you'll be in you element:) You just go do your stuff!!! I am sure you'll be great and I don't think you really need luck, but I'll wish you good luck all the same:) You go!!!!
Oh, by the way the whole pakage you got for entering the race with the girly stuff: typical!!! As if we have no other things on our mind than make-up:rolleyes:
Well, have a great day, see you later!!!

Good Luck with your race Wishes! The important thing is not to win but to partecipate and do the best you can, that way you'll win over your fears and doubts. :)

I took a look at your pics, wow! you really did a great job! How does it feel to fit a smaller size you didn't expect to fit? It must be a great motivation to keep struggling towards your final goal!

Have a great day!

Thank you guys! thank you, thank you, thank you!

Well i was all prepped and ready. got up at 8 - left at 8.30 (i had got everything ready the night before). Arrived at the grounds with plenty of time to spare at 9.20am, got my number 3137 (dunno if anyone gets that number - its a geek thing ... 31337 - elite - old movie called 'Hackers'!).
I noticed a few odd celebs from NZ (nobody you guys would have heard of), then i sat down and had a chat with several people. The grass looked like it might be damp, and riding with damp cycling shorts aint a good idea so i sat on the edge of the podium setup.
At about 10.30 the prime minister turned up and gave some quick speech. Then Sarah Ulmer (NZ Gold medalist cycler) gave a speech and race info.
At 10.55am we lined up with our bikes ready to race at which point i realized the podium had been WET! I hadnt noticed because of the padding in my cycling shorts :(
At 11am We were off - i was in the first group up near the front for the trip down to maratai (15km away) and most of the way back before the chafing became a major problem. I decided about 5km from where we turned around and did the loop again that I was gonna stop. I was at the point of not being able to sit down and i had started dropping back from the front group and into the second.
So unfortunatly I didnt complete the full 65km, only the 35km.

I found the ambulance and asked for a cold compress bag thing, went to the van and sat using that for about 15 minutes, then changed into normal clothes packed the bike up and went back to enjoy the festivities.

Im a bit bummed that i didnt finish the full 65km. However on the other hand im not entirely sure i would have been able to sit down for the rest of the week had i not.

Note for next race: bring a spare set of shorts!

Oh, and i got my race number signed by Sarah Ulmer, and a photo of me with her :D:D
That made my day - shes like my personal hero!
