We all run into this, me included, I won't lie. I'm not always happy with some of my choices and my biggest pitfall is "I can get back to this later" mentality.

I have lost my edge, truly - the embers aren't burning like they were a year ago at this time.

I'm still in the fight, though. Just know you're not alone. Maybe I just needed a place to vent, too.

Thx Liz :)
I know the feeling - once you have got the bulk off the drive disappears somewhat. Its not that the weight is harder to get off but you are just less motivated i suppose.
Im bouncing up and down 3-4lb atm but basicly sitting on the spot when it comes to weight loss atm.
I dlike to loose more, but its not a priority. I think im gonna keep it that way until after xmas. Once the silly season is over ill get out more etc.

There is a double edged sword here. Most people who only see short term goals never would have had the patience to stick it out and get to where you are. On the other hand, its harder for those of us who can look long term to really bear down for a sprint sometimes. This is definitely a marathon and not a sprint so don't put pressure on yourself over the speed with which weight comes off. Just keep plugging away and making good choices.
Yeah thats true.

On a brighter note another xmas dinner function over with last night. I ate only vegetarian, so although i did eat a lot, by the time it got to the cheesecake i could only eat 2 bites for flavour and that was most of my calories for the night.
So yeah i ate more, but it was vegetables and no meat.
I was very tempted to order the steak, but when it came i was sooo glad i didnt, It was HUGE thick and juicey and the most perfect steak ever.
Had i ordered it i would have eaten the entire thing and been peeved off at myself sorely. Also i knew there was cheesecake for desert so saved myself for it :)

Holy moly, wishes I just noticed your bmi is 26.9 - you already look normal but your actual number is getting sooo close now!!

I guess the lesser fire in the belly will do as long as there's enough there to keep warm with , eh?

Congrats on eating a xmas meal you were happy with during and afterwards!! It certainly is harder to get things right overall, when these events crowd together. :)

I was totally stoked that i left half of a $13 cheesecake behind, that was super cool! :D

Today we had burger fuel for lunch - mega sized burgers and fries. I cut the burger in half and gave the other half to husband, and only ate a few fries.
Then for dinner i made up by eating only veg (chinese stir fry thing).

Im soo tired from the late night last night.

so tired from the late night
.... and that's the other way Christmas socializing makes it harder for us to eat right and move right isn't it? :)

Yet you're still doing this well. Am I right in thinking that you have increased the amount of veges you eat?

yep, i noted a nasty habit of lots of xmas meals so switched the foods i was eating to mostly veg, means i can eat as much as i was but its veg so i dont gain :D

yeah im a pretty uninventive cook :/

One day id like to take lesssons. for now ive discovered balsamic vineger!
Get tons of roasty style veg, sprinkle with a bit of rosemary, garlic granules (or whoile roasted garlic) and then sprinkle with balsamic viniger and bake/roast.
tastes fantastic!!

Oooo. Yum. I love the sound of that. Hmmm. I have tonight's meal planned but maybe that would be nice for tomorrow's. I love herbed roast veges but I've never put balsamic on them. I love it on salads. Do you still use a bit of oil in your roasting pan with that recipe?

Yeah, I agree with Felici, that veggie roast does sound mighty delicious. I'm going to have to whip me up a batch to keep on hand for lunches. I'm getting sick of sandwiches.

Great job resisting holiday temptation, Wishes! Keep it up! :D

felici,
Nah i put some of that greased paper underneath to stop it sticking, i have a fan forced oven which makes em nice and crispy.
Go easy on the balsamic viniger - its strong, put a little, taste it, a little more etc until you find it just right. I tend to throw in pumpkin seeds etc or cashews for more protien/flavour.

Mmm now im hungry, im gonna go cook some :D

arg ive been sick as a dog all weekend, now its monday and im taking the day off by the looks still sick.
Ive gone through 2 packs of 100 tissues already in 2 days, time to go heavy duty. Im taking old meds to help - which may or may not be diet cheats siince they are speed based lol. Either way i feel like rat shit warmed up.
Weight is going up and down all over the show with water retention and all, so im not gonna weigh in for a few days maybe and im feeling better. Maybe new years or next weekend or something.

My daughter has her graduation from primary dinner/dance/formal today ... man we never had such things when i was a kid. She has the most awesome dress to wear, ill try and get photos.
Anyway im to blah to write more .. :O

:ack2::ack2:That cold sounds too nasty!!:ack2: It sounds like lots of hot drinks and warm doonas are required.

The important clothes events are starting young for kids now. For mum's I reckon thinking back on them is generally a lot more fun than getting ready for them! I hope you do get pics. I bet your girl is mega+ excited. :biggrinjester:

what are doonas? blankets?

Feeling much better today - that flu took me out for the better part of 3 days ! :O
On the plus side i wasnt hungry over that time so ate low on the calories lol.

Heres the promised picture of my daughter ... cor she looks like paris hilton!

Time to start welding that cage together, shes only 11 and i didnt even get the parents dance with her because she was so in-demand with all the guys :O

Oh she does look gorgeous. She reminds me a lot of you wishie. She does have that Paris Hilton pose off pat!!

Great choice with that dress. :) I know how hard it can be to find the right thing for a girl that age!!

Glad to hear that you're feeling better.

(BTW the new kitchen looks all right too! A doona is a quilt - do you guys say duvet?)

she's a knockout...

what a beauty she is...

yeah - cage or a shotgun by the door is a good idea :)
Oh shotgun - ill add that to the list :)

Thank god shes the one who isnt interested in guys, she doesnt want to have kids until shes 39 and has her entire life until then planned out!

haha lol second person to mention the kitchen in the background, And yeah the dress was a hard choice because shes so skinny and has no figure to speak of, it suited her well.

ok cold is finally receeding, i feel a chesty cough comming on though (read: franticly sucking on asthma inhaler).

Finally updated my ticker again, 10lb to go! omg!
Its weird though, i look in the mirror some days and think im still fat, and maybe i should adjust my goal, then other days i think im fine .... go figure.
Today i was staring in the mirror thinking my thighs and ass are still huge, but i have to constantly remind myself theres still a lot of skin and thats never gonna go.
Ill go get another body fat % test in january. I think my goal still stands though as it is. I know others go down to stupidly skinnyness, but i prefer the more shaped athletic look. Anyway classic insecurities.

10lbs away damn,woman that's awesome!!

look how far that little ladybug has travelled -she must be exhausted :)

Skinniness is overrated - athletic is much better :)
