I know, but with all that cycling, you must be packing some SERIOUS muscle on those thighs, no? The thigh muscles are big and muscle weighs. If you jog now, your weight will go down guaranteed. And I bet you'll find jogging easier now that you've done all that cycling ... I'll be interested to hear from you on that.

Have a good weekend!

mm yeah i have muscle, lots of it :)
I got some winter tights for cycling in today - hopefully that will help in my 95km ride tomorrow morning *brrrr*

I keep forgetting that you have winter now.. Since today's the Midsummer Day here would that make it the midwinter down there?
I hope the weather's compliant tomorrow and you have a great ride! :D
Julie

woke up repeatedly last night, with a headache no less, ended up turning the alarm off and not going cycling.
Husband (lovely man that he is) noticed and asked if i was ok and got me some nurofen and water, then i had french toast for brunch.

Ill try and get some cycling in later, or running.

lol the skirt looks great - VERY SHORT! heh havn't worn it out yet, its more of a 'going out' almost goth style skirt :)
On the other hand my daughters friend came over for the night, shes 12 years old. She had a top and i mentioned it would go really well with my skirt, i yanked out the skirt and she was all over it going "OHHH I WANT IT!!!". After trying it on it wasn't actually that much to big for her ... a 12 year old!
I mean it didn't fall down , just sat lower on her hips, and shes defiantly not a fat or big girl in any way!.

Anyway, its winter, exercise stops, weight loss seems to stop, hehe.
Im peeved about not going cycling on some levels, releaved because im lazy ass on other levels :D

I sat up late last night cutting my orange wind breaker up and taking 40cm out of the torso so it fit me again (i made this jacket last year when i first took up cycling) in anticipation. 40cm=17inch i think. Thats a lot of tummy shrinkage, though admittedly it was to big on me even when i made it, now it was just unwearable!
Its all good and fitting now however, and my arm warmers stay up with the elastic i put in the top half.
Anyway looks like i wont have much time to do any cycling today, i might go get in an hour of laps round the local loop (up and down a nasty hill .. its evil!)

Hi wishes. I'm sorry you missed your massive bike ride - I hear you about the divided feelings there also! :D

Isn't it great that you are getting to do things like cut all that fabric out of your jacket! It really helps bring home all over again, what a big change you've made in your life. Mind you that lovely little jumping jack avvie does a good job there!!!:D

G'day wishes. Wow, and congratulations on your amazing weight loss! I read your 'Can Do' list with relish. You're more than an inspiration, you're a phenomenon! I LOVE your avatar - good stuff! A pic's worth a thousand words, truly.:)

Btw, I understand about the awful weather. I'm in Melbourne and for some reason we've gone from summer to winter this year, with no real autumn and for the first time it actually has dipped below 12 in June. My fingers almost froze today getting the washing off the line and it was mid-afternoon with the sun out all day. I think it must be worse where you are; but look at it this way, your summers are cooler and fresher than the rest of the world's and you live in the most beautiful country on earth (and I'm not just saying that 'cos I'm a Tolkien fan hehe).

Hope those drizzly winds die down soon and you can go for that long-awaited ride. You'll probably enjoy it more out of waiting for it so long! :jump:
Keep on keeping on, you shining STAR!

Hugs :hug2:

Hi Wishes, sorry the weather is so bad for cycling. I'll be thinking of you as I dorkily try to manoeuver around the streets today! :)

Woo almost local! yeah we did seem to go from summer to winter here also.
Now its well and truly winter - apparently some cold air off the antartic. Lots of snow for the ski'rs down south though.
Thanks for your supportive comments :)

hehe ill be thinking of you when im cycling tomorrow night around the block :D

hmm slow week, still no biking, its freezing point here.
Im torn between buying a wind trainer for my bike, or some running shoes for a new hobby for a couple months lol.
Im seriously thinking of the running shoes though ... really ...
Im sitting in my office right now and wearing my cycling thermals underneath my normal clothes, thats how cold it is. The air conditioning just kicked in so hopefully i can disgard the cycling thermals later on, its all good.

Anyway, yeah, freezing cold snap ...grrr ... so ... how bout that americas cup eh? Talk about close!
I think we may get it - though im not sure thats a good thing after last time. Last time we won it some stupid fr*cken maori decided to try smashing it because im sure it somehow 'repressed' their culture of violence and pillaging or some equally stupid crap. Call me racist if you must, but I in all honesty dont see ANY relation to maori from the Americas cup, its just another attention seeking tactic to get more free handouts from the govt from a generation of people to lazy to earn their own money, they prefer to act like an embarassment. I dont think you will find many New Zealanders proud of the Maori Culture anymore. There are no true maoris left, havnt been for a long time, and of the Tribes left that claim to be true, only 1 or two actually take all the plunder they score from the govt.
I mean how stupid is it to claim the air, sky and space ... yep they actually tried to claim they wanted their "space" back and the satellites that were in it, with it. They managed to get the foreshore and seabeds already - talk about crazy!

Anyway, back onto Americas Cup ...

Also last time everyone went mental building crap in the city downtown that had all but been abandoned of which half made a mint when the americas cup came here, the other half went belly up because it wasnt completed in time and people lost millions. Then the poor contractors went bust, we got stuck with a lot of half built buildings etc ... madness.
And all over just a couple boats and a cup! sheesh! :D

So yeah - time to get back to work, and debate what running shoes to buy :D:D

talking to myself today, what a bummer. *glares at the non posters*

Going off to curry tonight. Yum! Cant wait!
Havnt been in weeks! im dieing for a really pipeing hot butter chicken too!

Hi wishes. Curry's one of my favorites, as well. Now why are you buying running shoes if you're a cyclist? Just put on 20 layers of clothes and get out there!

LOL, I remember when I used to cycle in Nashville, even in the winter. It's easy to forget how cold things can get when it's 20 degrees outside, and you add to that a 30 mph wind from the bike. Enough to freeze your hands right off.

Because its just to dangerous and cold. As it was i didnt ride with the weds night ride because its around suburbia and riding at night around local roads with cars is just too dangerous. People over here are pretty inconsiderate to cyclists.
A good friend of mine on the ewds ride apparently got knocked off by a car, who did not stop to see if he was ok, but drove off.
Friend is in serious condition in hospital now waiting for specialist surgery to put his shoulder and arm back together, Driver of the car got pulled up thanks to some on the ball people who got the license plate for the cops.
The thing is, this was an experienced cyclist, with plenty of lighting, in a large bunch of cyclists, in the middle of a fairly busy shopping area so you cant drive fast at all. Its just nutty.
Anyway I may go with a wind trainer as yet - ill decide if i can find a wind trainer within my price range. Also i dont want to limit myself to cycling only - im happy to do a marathon and some running. There is a pretty decent marathon coming up in a couple months too :)

Wow, I don't think I could ever do a marathon! That's incredible.
What's a wind trainer? Some sort of gizmo that lets you cycle indoors?

I'm thinking about biking outdoors, I do have a nice bike everyone says it's such a fantastic workout compared to stationary bike. Which I know makes sense. It's just so hot and un-bike friendly around here and I'm terrified of curbs. haha.

That's sick about your friend, I hope he gets fixed up soon. I can't believe how crazy that is to hit someone and drive off. Good luck with your running/marathon.

Its a trianglular frame that you put your bike onto, it has a rollar that sits on the back wheel, so you pedal on the bike and sit still while the rollar uses wind resistance to make you work :)
