never thought of that one ... :)

I had a huge big reply the other day but WLF went down and it was lost
grrr

anyway, im off away for the weekend.
Oh yeah and my calories are up from 1200 a day to about 1500 nowdays.
Probably the cause of the plateaus that im having, im burnin 5000 cal a week on cycling alone on average, so eventually it will go :)

well, that was one calorific weekend.
Ate ok for the day until dinnertime saturday at the party. God its like a night of drunken debauchery only without drinking. All i remember was eating and eating and eating, and being totally full, and then eating more ... :/
Chippies, cake, lamb chops, more chippies... arg!
I estimated it to be about 2500ish for the day, but i could be wrong. I wasnt counting exactly, nor could i recall most of it. Admittedly i generally stuck to the healthy stuff (sushi, vegetables etc) but i had at leasst 2 lamb chops .. or was it three? and went halves in a piece of rich chococake (i ate the bottom half without cream or icing), I had about 2 cups of chippies also and some jello.
Anyway, though it was fun and guilt laden, the reality of it was that i still only ate the same amount as i would have used in the day.
And because it was so darned freezing the family went for a 5km walk ... went so far that we realized we wouldnt get back in time for the party so had to get a cab which cost $15.
It was so cold having the BBQ outside that the meat just wasnt cooking. It was about 0C .. thats freezing point. The BBQ/party was mostly in the garage and around the brazier outside, but i spent about half the time in the house next to the fire trying to get warm lol.
Sunday was better, i was determined to make up for overeating. Since i had taken my bike on the van on holiday with me (as always) i rode around the lake (50km/2000 calories) in the morning. It was nice going one way with a tail wind, then on the way back round the other side it was horrid with the head wind. Going one way i had an average speed of 30km/h .. on the otherside i had an avg of 20km/h. Even going down hills and peddaling i couldnt get faster than 40km/h where i would normally hit about 60ish :(

On the plus side, it was hard work, a great workout!
I picked up some hair bleech on special at the supermarket down there.... you know what that means ..... new hair colour time!!

Im gonna go yellow, orange, and pink this time. Hopefully i can get the Orange colour i want ... the shops dont sell the one i used to use/like any more :(
Im gonna experiment with mixing yellow and pink to get the colour i want.

Ill post pics.
Also an interesting convo i had with my oldest son when a package arrived on friday.
I had bought a mini skirt online, its a pleated style one (hard to describe) that i was going to wear with black leggings or stockings (to cold to wear any other way in winter, not to mention a bit short for me). Anyway i mentioned to my oldest son 'oh my mini skirt has arrived' as i got it out of the letterbox, he screwed up his face and said 'NO! YOU CANT WEAR A MINI SKIRT! YOU'RE TO OLD!' hahaha
I almost peed myself, rather than tell him that it wasnt the tight kind or that i was gonna wear leggings/stockings with it i thought id tease him... so i was saying 'but it will go with my crop top .... i mean rachel hunter is older than me and wears them ...' etc and egging him on.
Fancy being too old to wear a mini skirt at 33! sheesh! :D
Anyway now i just need to buy some stockings or leggings to go with it. But thats not top of my list right now, first i must do the hair.
Got lots of complements about the weight loss at the part - it was awesome. also i seem to have inspired about 3 other family members who sat me down and milked me for all the information they could. We are now entering a group in a bike ride in november ... the bike the lake one that was my first race (yep, thats the same lake i biked earlier today). Its mostly a nice flat race with only one major hill and a few minors. Great ride for beginners and higher up.

Anyway time for bed.
Will catch up on forum happenings tomorrow if i have time :)

Good for you buying a mini skirt:jump: !!! I'm 48, and am doing things I wouldn't have done if I hadn't lost weight (wearing wild nail polish colors, etc).
Sounds like the BBQ was fun, but cold!!

Oh grrr frustrated with the scales going up again *angst*
They plateau lots lately and then go up and down like a yoyo :/
Last month was such a good month too - must be the super long bike rides i think ... maybe i should do a few more of them :/

Poo on the scale. Well, not literally.

Too darn funny about your son's comments on buying a skirt. The thought of mom being a hottie ... just ... doesn't ... quite ... work for those youngsters. Ha ha ha Can't wait to see pics of you in said skirt, with leotards and the HAIR, my god, Wishes, you are the bomb! Happy cycling.

I must tell you of a story about my neice. Her name is Leah and she always wore funky leotards. One day my son was speaking with her sister Kyla and he couldn't remember the name of these stockings. Leah piped up and said "they're Kylatards". All these years, she thought I was saying Leah-tards. :rotflmao:

Ahhhh hahaha that sounds like my daughters argueing.
My daughters names are Chelsea, and Elle-Mae .... now my mum would often go to the bakery and buy a Chelsea bun .... you can see where this is going eh :)
Anyway, to make a long story short, we bought some other bun and called it an "Elle-Mae bun' just so she wasnt as jelous of her sister :O

Its bleeching as i type! Ive been normal for like 3-4 months, thats the longest in years! Back to scaring people. Also i notice now that ive lost weight AND gone natural, people just dont recognize me :/
If i do the hair they will KNOW its me :D
And on the food front, im combatting my crap diet with a ton of fibre and veg for a few days to make up for the couple lb gain over the weekend lol.

Hey congrats on the mini-skirt. Age is just a number :)
Yep ... does this mean ill be seeing you in a mini soon? :D

looked thru the pics of your weight loss and youre doing great.. as for the hair color thing.. i love it... i am 42 years old... a grandma of 4, and do that every once in a while myself ... usually just a couple streaks ( i have kinda long hair), but i still get a few stares.. my son ( 23 years old) says im 'way to old ' to have funky hair.. i just tell him wait till im thin and sexy and see what i wear to bitch at me lol... if he hates the dyes in my hair he will really hate my clothes.. not that i will dress skanky per se, but have always had a huge rack, and will im sure use that to my advantage when im smaller...why not??? lol... grats again on the weight loss hun... youre doin great

Absolutly, if you have a great rack, then show it off!
Old doesnt mean dead these days, heck look at the celebs, some of them are way hot and 50+ years old!

I have less than no rack, its the only bugger about loosing weight lol :D

when i was younger i used to hate my 'rack'... it was the first thing men looked at.. and most of them would stare at it while talking to me.. like i couldnt see where they were looking or something... i was 130 pounds with a 38E bra size... now of course the number has changed but not the cup size, so im pretty sure they will stay approx the same as i lose weight.. i lost 75 pounds about 10 years ago.. all gained back now:(, but they did stay the same.. sometimes i wish i could lose weight there.. go braless ( not since i was 11 ), wear cute blouses, etc... but oh well lol..
when i get smaller ill have to buy a mini skirt as well... you could come to england and we could go clubbin.. wouldnt that impress our kids??? lol

I really like it over here.. if you havnt been you really should come check it out.. esp if your dad is from here... maybe a treat when you reach your goal?? the hardest thing i have had to adjust to, is driving on the opposite side of the road from the opposite side of the car, and then getting on roads that are soooo much narrower than we have in the states...i want to put a big old bumper sticker of the american flag on my car so peeps will realize i may just go down the wrong side of the road at any moment lol...i just had to take 27 years of driving exp and do things completely opposite..
there dont seem to be as many morbidly obese people here as there are in the states.. prob cause they dont have the amt of drive thrus we have.. and here you have to park in a parking lot, then WALK to the high street (rows of stores)... you get a lot of exersize just goin shoppin lol...the walkin i dont mind, except england is known for the rain we get here.. rain/walking isnt a lot of fun for me, but oh well lol...

:waiting anxiously of pics of new hair:
:and mini-skirt:

Have a good week, Wishes!
May the extra pounds leave you as quickly as they came and take a couple of their friends with them. Permanently.

AHh but we drive on the same side of the road, and have the same sized roads. Id be fine over there driving. Americans are used to oversized cars because of their oversized butts, caused by oversized food portions, hence the oversized roads ... hehe wow that was a cool sentance ... even if a little insulting to americans (sorry! ) lol

Cost to go to the UK from here is about $3k each return .. ouch! maybe when the kids have left home, i cant say ive ever really wanted to go though to be honest, id be more inclined to do the rest of europe though.

Got stockings today, $5.99 ... dye is in! its cold! should be done in about 30 mins ... oh yeah .. no batteries in the camera *DOH*
pics maybe tomorrow heheh :D

A BBQ at 32 degrees F doesn't soound so appealing to me. I have a really difficult time holding it together at big family events -- there's so much good food there, and it's easy to wolf down 3,000 calories without even thinking about it.

Can't wait to see the pics of you in your mini!
