2:30 is a standard and reasonable time for me. My record - without going back in my diary and checking to be 100% sure - is 2:17, I think.

Truth be known, my first couple full rides this season were over 3 - 3.5 hours with multiple breaks added in. It really has been a challenge getting back up to speed and retooling those leg muscles.

Today was 2:34 with one break at the turnaround point for about 5 minutes. Not bad considering I mowed the lawn this morning. I have a ski slope for a yard. I sweat more in 70 minutes of mowing than I do in a 26 mile ride, easily. I even worked in a couple hours of tree trimming and carrying limbs to the brush pile across to the other end of the property.

Today was by far the most intense I've had in ages. It felt good. Of course you've raised the bar so high, I feel I have to give it my all. Thanks for the upped ante. I wuvs ya for being so pushy.

2:30 is a fairly reasonable pace there T2, in fact if you enter a race you would be pretty much smack dab in the middle.
 
That about sums me up pretty accurately; smack dab in the middle. Not getting ahead, not falling behind. Yep.

I never thought I was in competitive range but I do find myself passing peeps on the trail. Oh yeah, I get passed by some 'serious bikers' too. I just try to stay steady on my rides. It's all about pace (I know you know this, Liz).


I ramped up calories last night intentionally. I needed to break a stubborn spell my body was teasing me with. Sure enough, I woke up feeling 'evenly distributed' instead of the stodgy lower ab flab being as predictably prominent as it has been the last couple weeks.

No exercise today however I think I will do a little walk here shortly, just to burn off my reasonable supper - yeah, I actually ate this early for a change. I got plenty of strawberries and grapes to stave off the dreaded late night train wreck.

A cool snippet of things discussed previously in the real world. My baby bro runs a trucking co. He has some very fat drivers (par for the course, obv). After viewing this cronic epidemic, he's spent company bucks on a gym for the office.

You can only imagine who will be there using this, right ?? This is Yahtzee for me !! A free gym !! are you kidding me !?!?

Dang lucky! They need to have pedals on trucks floors so if you want to change gears you have to cycle or something, or something to do with your arms. It would help keep driers awake also
 
Nothing elaborate but it is a place to make some sweat and build up some muscles. I dedicated 30 minutes to the weight machine (ouch) and put the treadmill on 4 mph for 10 minutes on maximum incline (whew).

I'm looking forward to making this a bigger part of my routine. I always had a gut feeling if I placed myself in this environment, I'd probably give it the 'old college try' now I hope I fall in love with it, like I have with everything else in my life change.

heh Liz, if this country depended on physical attributes from truck drivers to make freight arrive, we'd all be starving and living in caves. Staying awake was about as hard as it gets.

Liquid cals, mmmm. My favorite meal is a bloody mary. haha You know that the ancients used beer as food (Near East Ancients). It was a staple, not just a beverage to get a buzz. Interesting stuff, those ancients.... So you won't be the first to drink your calories.

Yah we did the mothers day thing, i just use it as an excuse to get away with stuff that i dont normally do, not interested in chocolates or pressies.
I managed to get breakfast in bed (roast lamb and carrots) and a Mocha (my addiction).
It was a good day!
 
Test run on the new cable modem. I ditched Verizon today. I can't be fucking around with shitty, broken english - let's-try-the-same-thing-two-weeks-in-a-row, support.

How the fuck do I see snow in mid-May ?? christ-o-mighty, what a wacky day.

My mood is total shit today. Stuff is just bitch-slapping me faster than I can duck from it.

All I know is the answer isn't going to come from binge eating. I can't remember a day this sickening in awhile.

Fuck you, diary. Somethings' gotta give.
 
Dude, go pump some Iron, some people dream of seeing snow, even if it means just the exercise of shoveling it or running around in it making snowmen :)
 
Nice to see you're safely in the 150's. That's so very cool.

The snow was just a freak thing for this time of the year, and honestly, the snow had very little to do with fucking my day up yesterday. Hell, today it is low 70's, sunny and a great day for a ride - which I just finished.

Half of America has been having some really up and down weather of late so I'm not alone getting plans altered. I do stay after my exercise one way or another.

No rants. It's just no use. The only thing keeping me in reasonably distracting spirits is my focus of eating well and exercise. Kid yourself not tho, these are troubling times.

I love you people for being a part of all this.
 
Read the first few pages of your diary. Remember where you came from and what worked for you. Time to get back to basics from time to time to humble yourself ... hey its working for me :)
