Agreed the time it takes is a huge distraction but we have to accept it and battle on daily. There is no shortcut - just hard, consistent work. Cheer up tho, it's totally worth it.

'Cuz I live too far away?

No, it's because I live too far away *sigh* I PM'd ya a plane ticket

Haha Aint that the truth ... and because he spends too much time walking away from them all :D

He needs a woman that can keep up :D

No Wishy, I just can't find an unemployed, motivated, must-love-dirt track-racing, let's-move-in-together chick to match my worthless life :p

A big day today. I had a big decision on my mind for a few days now. I needed to find clarity and totality for what I'm about to do. The thinking process added 8 extra miles on to my usual 26 mile bike ride. Today, central Pa. turned very fall-like and I completely enjoyed the cool weather while I sorted things out.

My daughter started Penn State two weeks and so far so good except for the transportation situation. Long story short, she got taken by a guy with a piece of shit car - which is no surprise for her price range. Anyway with Dad's intervention, we got her refunded which is all fine-n-dandy but now we're back to square one.

I decided I'm giving her my car because A.) she'll never come close to finding anything as dependable on her shoestring budget. B.) our winters are serious enough that I would feel good about her in this car even in the worst of conditions. C.) This girl has cleaned up her act beyond my expectations and deserves any help I can give her.

So yes, I will be without a car myself for [X] amount of time but I feel right about the decision as much for myself as I do about helping her out. I think this is the carrot I need to put in front of my horse to get out there and finish my goals - the non-weight loss ones.

So here I go - again.

so you're investing in a new pair of shoes then?

that and two new bike tires ;) oh, and a lock.

I'm investing in myself - hopefully. I'm really tired of waking up and making the choice of riding a bike or walking. There has to be more out there waiting for me than just interwebbing and losing weight.

Aw, you are such a good dad Randy.:hug2:

I need to do more for her, that's just me tho.

Perhaps now is the time to seek a new hobby that will carry you through winter and make you some friends :)

Perhaps ice hockey! I can see you running around with a large stick! lol :D

It's wonderful to hear that you feel up to this massive challenge.

:hug2:

Good morning all.

Mission accomplished with giving my daughter my car yesterday. So few things I've posted in this entire diary have felt as rewarding as helping her out. The look on her face told the whole story. I'm really rooting for the underdog in this case - big time.

Off for a bike ride now. I just love where I'm at in so many things presently, it just makes me wanna jump up and go gO GO !!

Oh wow... I know you didn't mean it that way, wishes... but I have a filthy mind, so yah... LOL Good stuff.

Hau'oli Po'alima, e ku'uipo.... :) (You're the 2nd person to have a bit of "Hawaiian" in your diary) ;)
