I'd have too agree about one thing. I'm 100x a lot of things now, mainly happier, certainly better looking View attachment 1166 The sexier part will still be in the eye of the beholder. I will make an honest effort to get that done this weekend.

I really have no shame at this point and you'll see me in a way that hasn't been seen in about a decade. I'm a lil curious myself how this will turn out too.

I'm sorry about your story, though. It's been years, but still sounds really painful. Actually, it sounds like that whole year was pretty bad - but you sound lots better now. Have fun at your reunion. :)
 
I'd love to see the pics and don't say they aren't sexy, I'm sure you are 100x sexier now then at 370! Lazyone is right I want to see a pic of you too hun. I will show you mine if you show me yours. ;) BTW that story tore my heart out, it was sad but your a helluva storyteller and you write so well. Oh man, so much forum love, so little time to give it all back. I feel like I should be an indentured servant to each one of you whilst alternating me to a new master annually.

LoL Twiny, that's not the mental image I want of you wielding 'The Stick'. Somehow I get this picture you would have your fangs filed down at the very least. *shrugs

Time to think reunion now. I've prepared for this with a lot of effort. I got a weight that my relatives haven't seen me at in a decade. I got the tan bronzed out and I got a great attitude. Any change worth doing is worth doing well. I don't go here for the 'hey look at me', I go for the unity of family and fun. But..

Staying humble as the compliments are dished out will be the highlight of my efforts to date. We want people to notice. We would hurt if they didn't. It's not ego, it's the nature of a dieter. Of all the reasons we diet, being noticed for our efforts is on everyone's top 3 list and you can't tell me any different.

If you think I did this diet for superficial reasons, you would be wrong. If this comes off as arrogant and cocky, wrong again. I'm just in touch with reality.

Taking control of your life is as real as it gets. Getting rewards for a job well done is as real as life gets.

That would be a highlight for me too.

I definately don't think that superficial at all. I think it is honest and like you said "real".

I'm really excited for you for your reuion. *hehe* I hope you have a great time and get many compliments because you definately deserve them!

I know what you mean about family reunions!! My family is probably the fattest family on my mom's side- and when we go visit I have always been bigger and bigger! I can only imagine the gossip that goes around, based on gossip they have said about other family members "Oh my gosh... Have you seen? So-n-so has put on so much weight! She is so heavy!!" And I really don't want to be the butt end of every behind-your-back fat joke- Plus I have 2 perfect size 2 straight A's cousins I am compared to! So I understand your wanting to lose weight for a reunion completely!! And I know you can do it!! 101 pounds is phenomenal, and the other pounds will be no sweat!

Hi ya, T :D I hope you enjoy yourself at the reunion and take time to suck up all of the compliments that are sure to come your way! :D You deserve all of them!! Being realistic is by no means "cocky and arrogant". :D Its being truthful.

Hope you are having a great time at the reunion. It's good to hear the confidence in your voice going into it. How many events have we all dreaded in the past because of our weight or the way we looked? You've worked very hard and I know you're embracing this new feeling of being able to walk into an event proud, with your head held high.

And I don't think that's cocky or arrogant one bit. Would we assign the label of arrogance to someone who's kicked a drinking problem or a drug habit? Would we call someone a snob who was proud of the fact that they overcame some obstacle in their life? Of course not. Losing weight is as important a battle as those types of issues, because many times it becomes a life and death matter. How could one not feel pride in knowing that they may have saved their own life?

So you keep that head up, held high and proud. And no one here will think you anything but strong and determined.

Oh, and give me your geek cousins phone number so I can bug the hell out of him for pictures!!

And double WoW.

Well a bad picture is better than no picture at all. To keep my word and honor intact, there is me in my av as of July 16th. As of this minute, my geeky cousin has not emailed me any outdoor (and probably 1000000% better than it is indoor grainy webpic with lousy lighting) but truth be known, I doubt ANYONE at the reunion was photographed with out the classic V-sweatstained shirts, boiler-like foreheads beads of perspiration and wilted hair.

The heat-index was nearing the death-zone. I avoided drinking beers and booze till after sundown. I'm sure everyone lost 5 lbs yesterday !!

My diligence stay intact on food selection and the compliments we're abundant. With such intense heat, eating was at a minimum from most everyone and bottled water was the staple of the daylight hours.

On a bummer note, we left at 5:00 am this morn as the heat and food were very unkind to my father. I thought it was best to get him back home. We breezed thru D.C. with no traffic to speak of and I kept him nice and cool with A/C on and the Pepto seem to do its job as well. We missed out on a day of down-rigging on a 36 footer my cousin owns and we had hope to make up for time lost yesterday in such dismal partying conditions but the choice was an easy one to get him home and fixed up. Well there's always next year.

Many thanks to you great people keeping my diary alive in my absence and showing that awesome forum love we all share. I was speechless when I saw those post.

I love you guys, you're the bestest !!!
